Da Vinci's Pizzeria

I guess any pizza place is going to be busy on a Saturday night, and they were. But, I don't know if this is 'a New York thing', but  a paying customer should not get treated like a solicitor peddling perfume(I should  know, I did it before).  Just bought a couple of slices and a pop. Wasn't expecting a hug, but they really seemed overwhelmed.  I had seen some of the reviews listed, thought they might have improved. I'm here to report they have not. This Chicago guy will find his pizza elsewhere next time. BTW, the pizza was o.k. and the pop was cold.

Nothing special.  If I'm in the area, and craving a slice, I wouldn't hesitate to stop by.  That being said, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.  Today we took out the stromboli and a large pie. The za was average.  There was defintely tons of cheese, but I thought it was lacking on the sauce, both in flavor and amount.  Being from NJ, I am well familiar with NY-style pizza.  This, decent.  

The stomboli was good.  Filled with cheese and a nice balance of meat.  I would get this again.

The staff was nice, but not overly friendly.  

We have ordered out from here before and the dinner entrees are good and portion size is big.  

All in all, just nothing special, but by no means bad.

Unfortunately, this place sucks.  I'm a 5-10 minute walk and can't even take advantage of it because both their food and service are utterly lacking.

They have no real system or method when you order food and the likes, so if there's any other customers besides you, you'll probably end up ordering, then paying later when they realize you're waiting for your food and the person who took your order didn't bill you yet.  On the few occasions I've gotten their pizza, whoever was running the cash register was either rude, incompetent or both.

The slices are a good size.  But who cares if they are a good size when they aren't very good...  The crust is okay, the sauce is okay, and the cheese is okay, but none of it is actually good, just acceptable.  When I want a slice or pie of pizza, I'm looking for more than just acceptable.  Doesn't have to be gourmet, but having it be more than just palpable would be nice.
