La Villa Basque Vivere Lounge

What an improvement!!!!  Been back hand full of times and food, service and ambience is amazing.  Had lunch there today and was totally bummed the restaurant was empty.  Daily specials are always great, but today I ordered 2 dishes, hot wings and 3 slider appetizer. Both super tasty!

I think anyone who works in Vernon or Huntington Park area should really give them another try.

It was this amazingly well kept 60s time capsule.  I was bursting at the seams with excitement to visit.  But then I see in the photos that you've totally ruined everything.  All of that painstaking work someone must have done to keep the place in its original state has been wasted.  Thank god the counter seating area seems mostly intact.  But it's still been spoiled.  

Business owners need to learn that the entire appeal of places like this is to see the amazing midcentury architecture (it's really popular right now.. haven't you noticed?) & design elements.  It's not for the mediocre food & cheap half assed remodel job.

This is an old classic in L.A., but has lost favour over the years.  I recently went in for a salsa promotion (they are trying to get salsa and bachata going there on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays).  The menu is currently very limited but Happy Hour is priced nicely - i had the sliders and a glass of malbec - good and inexpensive.  Great dance spaces - two big areas for dancing.  Pleasant staff.  Good dj's the Thursday i went.   I hope the place is able to survive.
