Live latin music which puts this place high on my list of places to go dancing. They play all types of music including salsa,  cumbia,  bachata,  merengue,  reggaton,  and pop. Women are free and $5 cover for men (I hate covers). Drinks range are $7 for shota, mix drinks are $10. This is rather pricey for the area hence the lower rating,  cover fee + high priced drinks dont mix well in my book. The crowd is an older crowd but very lively. The servers are very cheerful as are the entertainers. They serve food  night and you can call to reserve a table, friends say the food is very good, their menu is online. The layout is a dance floor near the stage surrounded by many dining tables and two full bars. Not the best ambiance but the music makes up for all. Definitely come here for to dance, eat, and have good times with friends.

Nice enviroment, parking lot accross the street, love the mature crowd bc the last place I want to go is a club with a bunch of 20 year olds who dont know how to act...

My honey and I loooove us some baila latina.  We've been working our way around the NJ/NYC latin clubs/clubs that have latin nights for the last 6 months.  Since FINDING these damn spots is so difficult I decided to review a few because so few of the yelpnation are. grr.

This place is in a SUPER sketch area of Newark. But there is a parking lot with an attendant more or less across the street and the poor freezing man will watch your car, which is nice.

So....you may ask, why, Leah M, why would you go here to dance when it is mostly populated by people your mother's age? Well, I would answer, because people my mother's age know how to to DANCE! And dance without drama. Plus there are plenty of tables so you can drop your coat, sit and have a drink and chill between sets.  Drinks are not expensive, cover charge is reasonable, dance area is spacious enough, there is always room to dance.

The music is sortof hilarious, but it works. They have singers and live percussion playing over recorded music, so you hear all the hits (mostly merengue, bachata, salsa and cumbia) but also they bring out a dj once in awhile for some reggaeton and pop.  So it's a mix of everything. And everyone clears the dance floor between songs which is weird, maybe this is a cultural thing I am not accustomed to?

They serve food, lots of people seem to have bday parties here, and very few whiteys like meself come here. But it's fun, and since my honey and I have fun wherever we go, this place is a laid back, less expensive option when we wanna dance but cannot summon the energy to do a big fancy spot.

As for the night club on a Sat night $10 cover gets you in, decent live band, older crowd, low on eye candy, don't expect to find a seat anywhere or the bar so call for reservations ahead of time.  What was really a strange concept to me was the long lapse between songs and everyone clearing the dance floor, I wondered maybe there was some kind of performance that was going to happen, but then just heard a new song come on and everyone started to form lines to get on the dance floor...me and my room mate could not get over this unusual observation and kind of just laughed every time it happened.  Maybe it's some tradition from the old country but really did not make much sense to us.  Anyway, maybe Friday nights are better there, would like to know so I don't take my chances
