Lilly Mac's Irish Bar And Restaurant

Lilly Mac's has a great location on the impressive Murphy Ave. in Sunnyvale but I wan't overly impressed with this restaurant.  Food was ok and the drinks seemed fairly weak.   Service was friendly but under staffed when we got there at 5:30 - I think there was just the bartender there at that time.  We did enjoy the atmosphere on the street outside and Sunnyvale was having a jazz concert that night.  We love pubs and Irish bars and been to many and this one was just ok compared to other places we frequent.

Stick to the brewed beverages. Our party of four arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday evening and sat at one of their few sidewalk tables in front of the bar. Sunnyvale's Jazz and Beyond Concert Series band was starting up and the bar seemed to be understaffed. Service was friendly, but with harried, sparse check-ins at our table.

We ordered mixed drinks and dinner entrees. It was my impression afterward that the drinks weren't very strong, as I'm a lightweight and didn't feel much of an effect whatsoever (had a Martini and a Bloody Mary). On other occasions we've gone just for the ale and that tends to be fresh and they have a nice selection of imports. Dinner was fine, but nothing special. The 2 fish and chips and the po'boy sandwich came out together but the shepherd's pie didn't arrive until at least 5 minutes later. Servings sizes were adequate but not huge.

This place will stay on our go-to list for ale. All in all, it's a nice spot to hit on a lazy weekend evening.

I came here for my friends band that played awesome. I just thought the security guard was rude and the waitresses were too busy talking on their phone while I was waiting for my food order. They also forgot to get my drink and have me my food first.  They also like to hold your credit cards even if your not at the bar in which I find weird.  I would not come back for food because the marinated shrimp sandwich made me sick, it smelled fishy bad. This is a good venue for music but as of prices, quality and customer service I give a bad grade D.
