I DJ'ed for a dear friend's birthday last year at this place.  I've only heard of Pebble Roppongi prior to with mixed review.  I've only been to the place 3-times, once before I DJ'ed for my friend, when I DJ'ed and once after.

My personal experience is also with mix review, so I'm going to pitch my review from 3 different point of view, as a patron/customer, as a DJ and as once a loung/club Promoter.

As a Customer - the place is really cool, small and kind of intimate place, good for 150-200 people, you can push to 250 people, complete standing room.  Just as advertised, definitely a perfect venue for a private event.  You wouldn't really know it's there or what it's for if you wasn't looking for it.  It's situated in a plaza in within downtown sunnyvale, where there's a few nice select, decent dining places.  At first glance from the exterior, you wouldn't this place exist or might think it's a front for something. The night I came on my own to have a drink with a friend, they were having karaoke night, pretty cool atmosphere, perfect to have a quick getaway, have a good talk over drinks.  The bar is nicely set up, it's a step down, so if you're sitting at the bar, its not like you're sitting high on the bar stool while the bartender still step high above your eye level, they're a step down and you can see over the bar a bit where you can see you're drink is not being watered downed or substituted with cheap liquor.  The bartenders are pretty nice and very knowledgeable, just don't expect them to be your bar shrink and ask you to pour on your issues.  Above par mixed drinks, they could do a bit better on the presentation, I can understand plastic glasses, but we're not exactly in Vegas, but pretty good mixes nonetheless, reasonably price I thought.  They carry high end imported Asian/Japanese hard liquors as well as select domestic and imported beers.  It's a full wet bar, but don't expect too much, it gets crowded quick, it's a pretty small bar, so don't lose your seat.  There's a number of lounge style booth tables, about 10 that can sit up to 12, perfect for VIP tables, but that's about it, there's no other really other place to sit, I'm not sure if they're first come first serve tables, wait to be seated or reservations.

As DJ - when I was there as customer, the sounds for karaoke night was I thought pretty decent that needs just fine tuning, there's a sound booth, where the system were like the amp, the sound board, karaoke system, etc., are.

When I DJ'ed, I was not allowed to hook up to their system, they were afraid of any DJs that they're not familiar with to hook up to their system which is totally understandable.  I had to bring in my own 2 15-inch powered speakers which is just perfect to sound this place.  Although I checked out how they are wired, there's XLR connections IN and OUT on the wall going into the sound booth, flushed like it's an outlet, so who ever wired their place is a pro.  The dance floor is situated toward the back of the entire room, it's a decent 20x14 dancing floor space with a 4x12 step up by the sound booth where whoever sings karaoke stands on.  So, for a place for 200 capacity, 60-70 percent is the bar and booth.  So a 20x14 with 40+ bodies dancing, looks pretty good and encouraging for a DJ with the floor packed like sardines, lol.

They had what it seems like a custom made rolling DJ table, with shelving to place my bags and gears not used. It was really cool, but whoever made it, must have thought all DJs are 6 foot tall and above, this table was pretty high, I placed my DJ case/coffin and I usually double deck it with the case lid, but the table was too high, so I only had the bottom half on the table, yet it was still high, my DJ deck was almost literally chest level to me and I stand 5'7".  I browsed around for short stack milk tray/crate, but oh well, the party must go on.

The acoustic and sound proofing in the place is pretty good.  I had my system pretty cranked up and I could barely hear the sounds from the front door.

As a promoter - once upon a time a promoter, I'd have to say, this place definitely have a potential, but that's on the owners see that.  Located and accessible near 101, I'd say to mid to mid-high end area neighborhood, pretty descent, mid-class dining, can easily draw or attract those patrons to this place as sorta once stop night life/party source.  Staff was very cool, from the bar manager, waitresses, bartender to security.  I was chopping up with the head security most of he time, from the time I got there to set up, on my break and the time I was done and wrapped up for the night.

The parking lot can get cramp though, but there's plenty of street parking up for grabs if you don't mind taking a short walk, streets are pretty well lit and I didn't notice any street transients.

Over all, I give it a 3, it has potential.  Perfect for private events of 150-200 tops.  Bring your own DJ.

Great place to rent out for private parties.  This is my second time coming here.  I think you have to provide your own DJ.  There is plenty of parking.  It's a bit tricky to find the entrance to this place.  The entrance is not located on the main street.  It's behind the building.

The mystery has been solved. I finally came here after years of walking by it during late night dt Sunnyvale stumbles. I came here with some of my customers from Japan who are quite familiar with the place and it's employees. We came here after a night of hard drinking to shoot around the bush on business and get some songs in for camaraderie.
We had ourselves a hostess who poured our drinks, attempt conversation, etc. It was an interesting experience.
I too heard about the stuff tetsu was talking about and out of respect I won;t repeat it either. I have heard this place is far removed from the glory days, which given that there were only two gorgeous hostesses available one can guess that this place was the cats meow in the past.
