Limestones for Limestones
I work in the unfortunate Earth City business park slash DUMP area between Maryland Heights proper and Saint Charles. Just when I thought I couldn't have gone to a more sad place for lunch, there arose Limestones Bar and Grill, attached to the clubhouse for the adjacent golf course.
If you are a LImestone, or enjoy eating with LImestones, and you like to inhale giant gulps of the worst dump stench into your lungs as an appetizer, go to Limestones. Be sure to wear your visor, mom chinos, golf shirt, and bring someone at least 20 years your senior, otherwise, you will just feel uncomfortable. Or I guess if you work in one of the high class office buildings nearby, you could go here for a private lunch to talk about bidness. Like all the men do, you know?
The ambiance was slightly too Limestone for me to give this place three stars even though I thought the menu had some great stuff on it and really decent prices, especially for lunch. For about 8 bucks, I got a soup and salad combo, with black bean soup and chicken salad sammie on a croissant. The sammie was pretty good, as was the soup, but a little heavy on the onions. Figures tho, I don't think Limestones care much about fooch bombs.
Our service was also a bit on the slow side, and it seemed that regular Limestones were getting served way faster, and before us even though we came in well before them. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food though. But also were a little depressed with the overall Limestone effect. Aaah, golf!
