There are three parts to this review, the food (meh...), the service (YAY!) and the trivia (WOO-HOO!!!).
I've eaten at Loco's before and the food is typically good, but I've found that the nachos (which we had this evening) just aren't up to par. Â The burgers, sandwiches, fries, chicken tenders and queso all tend to be very tasty, so we're obviously not paying attention. Â Food: 3/5 stars.
The service was very attentive. Â For our first time at this location, they were very friendly and most everything went as planned. Â She asked us if everything was OK and kinda snickered when we didn't respond, then walked away. Â If she'd asked what they could do to make us happy, I'd give them 5/5, but tonight, they get 4/5 stars.
The trivia kicked butt. Â We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but they were nearby, so we took a chance and ventured out. Â By the end of the first round, we were tied for third out of eight teams, which isn't unusual, but it made us happy. Â We won the interim contest and ended up coming in 2nd place. Â The amazing part is that for both the contest and the prize, the MC took his wallet out and paid us $25 in cash! Â Never in all my years have I seen such a thing! Â 5/5 stars!!
4/5 stars overall, so we will most definitely be back!
Dined at this establishment a few times now with the wife and two small kids. We obviously eat in the restaurant side where it is smoke free. The service is excellent. Both times a guy(possibly manager or owner) stopped over to say hi and make sure everything was going well. Other waitstaff stopped by to make sure things were well. The food was better than most other bar type/ deli establishments. Not going to complain about the smoking in the bar since I was not hanging out there. The smell did not creep over to our side.
We will return here because of the service and the food!
For someone from Seattle with its strict smoking laws, Locos was an interesting place with a smoking and non-smoking section. Â They have a good selection of brews on tap, and some entertainment in the form of keno and video games. Â Between Golden Tee golf and cold brews, we were easily entertained for a few hours on a school night in Alpharetta.
Review Source:First the pros...
The bar is smoking. It was pretty full for a Monday night.
They serve FRESH Budweiser unlike a certain dump in Alexandria VA.
They have awesome nachos...and huge! The wings are fair. They grill the wings with the sauce on them, which makes a flavored char. They do serve them with a side of sauce for dipping. They have a French Dip sandwich that is tender, with a sub roll with just the right amount of crust crunch. The Au Jus is perfect, not too salty as what happens when you use beef bullion instead of the drippings from roasting the beef.
The cons...
The service is a bit slow. But the friendly atmosphere more than made up for it.
One of our offices is located in Alpharetta, so every time I need to visit there, I'll be back!
A side note, I suggested this place to my peers in the meetings. We were sitting there around 4, drinking, eating and playing Buzztime trivia...when my boss taps me on the shoulder...thanking me for the recommendation! Dodged another bullet! :D
Stop in this place often after playing disc golf at Wills Park. Burgers are great here. Â I'd put them up against any other place in the north metro area, they are that good. Â The roasted chicken wings are wonderful and they offer a 2 for 1 on Wednesday's on all chicken wings. Â Beer selection is adequate, but I'd like to see them offer more craft beer selections. Â Most of the beer specials are limited to american lagers from the macro breweries and I'd love to see more specials on craft ales. Â Overall, I definitely recommend it for burgers and wings (and here some of the other food is good as well).
Review Source:Well, it would have been nice to find out what their food was like during our lunch hour, but we never got to that point because the staff basically ignored us the moment we sat down. We waited 10 minutes and during that time, the waiters/waitresses passed by us without even offering to get us drinks. There was one waitress who was standing at the register (we were sitting in the middle of the floor right in front of her) she looked right at us and turned away. Everyone else was getting their food brought to them and we just sat there waiting. The sad part about this was that there weren't that many customers there, there were plenty of empty tables. Never again. We also told all of our friends to stay away from this restaurant. If they treated us this way then its best for them not to go there.
Review Source:A group of 4 of us went in on a Sunday around 630, waited  to be acknowledged for 10 minutes, gave it another 5 minutes and when we started to get up to leave the manger came by with menus and asked us if we had been helped. Looking at the empty table we replied No...a server finally came over to us. had very minimal interaction with the server the entire time we were there, was very hurried/rushed.. felt like more of a burden to her then a customer.  The only reason Ive ever gone here is friends go up there for the cheap beer and the standard bar food, they stay open late and are close to the house. But all in all I've never been impressed with anything about this place. Slow service and run of the mill bar food. And the Cell reception for att and verizon is terrible
Review Source:Came here late last Friday, and realized they have a non smoking section and a smoking section- complete with pool, darts, arcades, and tons of TV's (even some the booths!).
The atmosphere was cool- glad to know a place like that is close to home, the menu had a lot of options, but the execution was basic- the food was underwhelming.
Got 4 MIller High Lifes for $9.80 (ehhh)
Service was excellent, but I found out they fired that server just days after.. What the heck?!
Went on Saturday evening to play some trivia - pub side.
They had a live band, they were pretty good - loud but not too loud - so no issue there. Â They have a fair selection of craft beers on tap - 3 or 4 sweetwaters.
They have booth's with tiny tv's - nice for trivia.
Ordered HOT wings w/fries. Â The wings were not very good - dry, sauceless - I won't bother trying them again if I return. The fries were VERY good. Â
Ordered a large caesar salad to share. Â A plate of greens with croutons with a dish of sauce on the side. Â WARNING!!! Do not add the sauce to the greens. Â Worst caesar sauce I had ever tasted - basically ruining the greens - horrid... perhaps tainted generic caesar sauce from the liquidation store (?). Â It isn't hard to make a decent caesar salad - even if you have to use a store sauce.
I might return for the beer and trivia
Came here for lunch and I ordered their tacos. One steak and one chicken. Surprisingly the tacos were good. They came with greens and cilantro salsa. The steak taco was the best one. The chicken taco was unseasoned and tasted bland and I didn't like that. I ordered a side of steamed veggies but the vegetables tasted rotten so I immediately spit it back out. It was pretty bad. I couldn't eat it. I did not complain because I didn't want another side, I was full at this point so I didn't say anything.
Service was subpar. He only checked once to see if everything was ok. I need a refill of my drink but I was left thirsty till the end of lunch.
Locos has potential to do better. Do better service and make sure your food is not rotten or weird tasting, you guys should be ok.
Food and drinks were good but the guy behind the bar with the ponytail was a piece of $hit to me and my guests because of the awful experience with him ill never go back. The rest of the waitstaff was good. Really too bad. After serving us drinks for about an hour and a half he decides to card my wife who is clearly and obviously over 21. Very irresponsible, I hope the owners don't lose their liquor license because of one jerk that doesn't know how to do his job.
Review Source:I Can't speak on the food only the alcohol but the place has a nice and laid back atmosphere & the drinks come at you fast and furious  There's darts and pool in the back. I'm surprised there is such an unpretentiousness type place like this in the A.  My co-workers and I come here to unwind after work from time to time & i'm sure we will be back.
Review Source:Ok...since my last review I visited Loco's again with a friend of mine that came in to visit from NJ. I must say my experience this time was much better. The food was pretty good, the beer was cheap, and the atmosphere was great. We had an excellent waitress with a ton of personality, wish I could remember her name.
Review Source:I used to live in Athens Ga where Loco's was reliable, great beer, tasty food, warm and usually had great service. Unfortunately the suburban version is sub par. The service was ehhhhhh- but the place was dead so I expected at least to get my drink refilled without having to ask. The food was regular bar food. My #1 beef with the place is the wait time. It took about 35 minutes for our food to come out and all we ordered was a salad and a burger. Should not have taken that long.
That is the bad stuff.. the good stuff is.. beer... big TVs... and decent sweet tea.
There is a lot of bar food type places in the area- this one did not stand out to me.
I continue my quest for good pub food in Alpharetta. Today brings me to Locos. I used to come here years ago. They have since remodeled the place and it is nice. Hardwood floors, flatscreen TVs everywhere (even some in the booths), dim lighting, etc. I'm impressed. I ordered chicken wings on the suggestion of the hostess. Gotta say that they were pretty good. A little crispy on the outside, yet tender and not chewy on the inside. Hot sauce had a little heat, could have taken a little more. Fries were fair, of the frozen variety. Others at the table enjoyed the burgers. I would rank this place ahead of Taco Mac and Three Dollar in terms of food quality, although they lack the selection of beers I think. Locos also has a pretty popular poker night, if that is your thing. 3.5 stars.
