LongHorn Steakhouse

First off, if you go to a Longhorn, there really shouldn't be any surprises. It's a chain and not an especially great one. The ambience will be the usual formulaic is somewhat bizarre mix of  cowboy and hunting stuff. The food is decent if outrageously uninspired. The service will depend on your luck, in my case, it was very pleasant. The thing here is, Longhorn simply doesn't ever rise above itself. You'll never encounter an inspired chef, an articulate and passionate server and menu choices that will surprise you. It's the same everywhere and that's by design.

Stopped in for lunch. I order the 6oz "Renegade Sirloin". I have no idea what was renegade about it. It might have the smallest ball of sirloin I've ever seen but it was prepared exactly as I ordered it and had the very average flavor I would expect at a Longhorn Steak House.

If Longhorn if you're only choice which, come on, these places are always clusters with other similar national chains, then you could do worse but the thing to remember is, you could *so* much better.

Years ago we tried this restaurant and were a little disappointed. This year we tried it again, and LOVED it! We have returned at least half a dozen times and every time we have been thoroughly satisfied. The atmosphere is appealing. Great tasting drinks. The staff is friendly ad helpful. The bartenders are very gracious and helpful for drinks while waiting for a table. and as for the food.... The Wild West Shrimp appetizer is TERRIFIC! The steaks are savory and good quality. I choose the sirloin and my husband likes the fillet. My steak is always wonderful, but his Fillet just MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH! This has been our favorite restaurant of the year and probably for next year too!

I discovered LongHorn's Flavorful Under 500 menu while doing an online search for restaurants with light dining options.  Eager to try someplace new my boyfriend and I headed in to try their menu last weekend.  While there we encountered impecible service and delicious food.  I ordered the Sierra Chicken which was a bright plate of chicken topped with tomatos and basil and a side of perfectly seasoned greenbeans.  This meal was absolutely delicious.  The fact that it was light was just a bonus.
