What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than lunch at Senior Iguanas right?  I had been to Iguana's in Louisville before but I had yet to visit the one in Clarksville.  When we headed in the first thing that we noticed is that they do allow smoking in the restaurant.  However, they sat us in a back corner and the smell was present but not terribly overwhelming.  The restaurant was decorated for Cinco de Mayo and the waiter wished us a happy Cinco de Mayo when he greeted us.  The waiter brought us chips, salsa, and their sour cream dip.  I have to mention that their salsa is my absolute favorite of any mexican restaurant in the area . I ordered the enchiladas suzias and my boyfriend ordered a combination dish.  When the food arrived it was delicious.  Iguanas also has my favorite enchiladas suzias because they serve it was a spicy salsa verde on top instead of the bland red sauce that so many other restaurants use.  However, I do have to note that the refried beans that they served as a side were so thin and soupy that I actually could not eat them with my fork because they ran right through it.  The rice was delicious though.  However, the good service that we had at the beginning of the meal disappeared at the end.  After we were clearly done eating, our plates were sitting empty, and we were looking around the restaurant trying to stare down our waiter, we sat for over 15 minutes waiting for our check.  Finally my boyfriend had to grab his attention while he was running to another table because he seemed to have completely forgotten that we existed.  However,  Iguana's is still my boyfriend and my standby Mexican restaurant so I know I'll be back especially now that we've found a location in southern Indiana.

    mucho gusto!
I love everything that I've eaten here!
best chicken taco's ever. enchiladas are great. fajitas are good. love their queso and salsa as well. great prices too.
I have been going here since they opened. it's the original location, now there are -I think- two other locations.
since I'm a regular the wait staff knows me and they are great! always nice, and always attentive. always smiling and saying hello when we come in =]

    It was.... okay.

Went with a group. The salsa had a nice flavor, the "white salsa" they give you is fine, but I still can't really get into dipping tortilla chips into what is essentially ranch dressing. There's just something wrong about it.

I ordered the arroz con pollo, remembering a dish full or cheese sauce that I love at El Camino Real in Plymouth, Indiana. Though cheese was included in the dish on the menu, I didn't see any stringy, gooey stuff on my dish. Even without it, it was good, but the broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots in their vegetable mix really throw me off. I'd be happy with just the onions and peppers, thank you.

The hubs ordered a mole chicken dish, and got chicken enchilladas with mole sauce. He didn't say anything, and liked the enchilladas, and we were charged for the $3 less enchillada dish, so no harm there really.

Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. The service was nice, and the atmosphere was fine. I can't see myself getting back here anytime soon, with so many other Mexican places closer.
