Closes at eight so get there early. Totally worth it.

Magdalena's is the real thing.  No loud music, nothing pretentious, just amazing food, great service and good prices.  Everything but the beverages is home made.  The flan is to die for.  The salsa and guacamole are great and the chips home made.  Would I drive from Albany to Valatie just to eat here?  Oh, yeah!

I've been to Magdalena's twice now and both times have been really happy.  It's nothing more than a bare bones store front with a half a dozen tables covered in brightly patterned fabric and some folding chairs but the food is homemade traditional Mexican food.

The salsa and pico de gallo that comes with a basket of fresh chips are fresh and tasty. We've tried the empenadas, the tacos and the chimichangas.  All were outstanding.

The prices were reasonable, the service, quick and efficient but a little unpolished. That's not to say that we weren't well taken care of, just a little rough around the edges.

This will definitely become my Saturday lunch stop.
