We were here for a private Christmas party through my husband's work. The food was terrible. We had 4 selections to choose from - steak, chicken, fish, or veggie pasta. I ordered the veggie pasta. It consisted of undercooked macaroni, about a half dozen black olives, a few slivers of sun dried tomatoes, and some wilted arugula which was completely drenched in olive oil which made it a greasy mess. Honestly, a "veggie" pasta should include vegetables. Olives and sun dried tomatoes really don't make the cut.
My husband ordered the tilapia which was extremely dry and mealy and was covered in tortilla chips for a crust. It came with mashed potatoes, which doesn't make sense to me. Both had terrible flavor. The pre-dinner salad was mediocre at best - mixed salad greens that were not very fresh with one slice of tomato, onion, and cucumber respectively. The dinner rolls were pre-made and cold. The servers passed out dessert - there were many choices, but you didn't get to choose. What they handed you was what you got. I had the "oreo cupcake" which was a chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting with an oreo stuck in the frosting. Honestly, Hostess makes better cupcakes.
Overall, terrible food. I think my husband's company wasted their money.
Good fine southern cuisine here at this restaurant. Â Nice place to go for special occasions, such as birthdays, graduations, valentine's day (one of the times that we went). Â The desserts are amazing, something my wife is an expert on. Â
Decent service when we were there. Â One thing that you need to keep in mind is that the hours of service are from Thurs-Sat opening at five, meaning that it will be packed, more than likely, when you go. Â Sometimes you'll even see some of the local, older, celebrities of Macomb. Â One of the times we were there we saw Coach Patterson of the WIU Leatherneck Football team. Â Go 'Necks!
Check it out. Â Somewhat pricey, but definitely good place for romantic dressy dinners.
