Red Ox Restaurant

I just moved to Macomb in October and had yet to try the Red Ox. When my mother came to town for a visit, we decided to try it. We went in the front door, and there were two couples ahead of us waiting to be seated. The host completely ignored us. After about 5 minutes he sat both couples and went back to ignoring us. I was annoyed, but thought he was just getting organized. Then another couple walks in and he perked up and took their information. The young man who was being served asked if I had been helped yet. When I replied no, he told me to go ahead of them. However, the host continued to ignore my mom and I in favor of the couple that just walked in, so we left. I've NEVER encountered anything like that in my life. I will not be back.

Very good just as I remembered.  We went there twice on my visit to WIU.  We sat in the supper club one night and the restaurant the other night.  Food was really good.  The onion rings are wonderful!  I highly recommend them.  The salad bar is wonderful and the shrimp dinner I ha was great.  Service staff was very nice and very good.  We never had to ask for anything.  My son LOVED the kids chicken meal too.  Great place for real good home cooked food.

The Food is Great.  The ugly steak is very well done.

Service is attentive and appropriate.

The decor is way old fashioned and stuffy, and left me with the feeling that the place hadn't been cleaned in a while.
