This place can be cheap if you order a la carte, but expensive if you order one of their preset meals. I've eaten here several times (take out and sit in) and it's your average Americanized Chinese joint. Don't expect any more or any less--you won't be impressed or disappointed. Main Moon isn't the best I've ever had, but it definitely soothes those late-night fried rice cravings you get every once in a while.
Also, this restaurant is connected to a Japanese restaurant and is under the same management. So if you're in the mood for some sushi, take a hop to the right.
With respect to the food I ordered for take out this past Saturday night, I would say this is yet another run of the mill Americanized Chinese take out restaurant on the East Coast. Â With that being said, Â people who are giving this place 1 star are exaggerating a bit. Â There is nothing at this restaurant that really merits anything above or below 3 stars. Â Their Kung Pao shrimp was actually quite tasty, meanwhile their chicken with Chinese vegetables consisted of some particularly bland chicken. Â One thing this place has going for them is very reasonable prices.
Review Source:Went there tonight, cook came out of the bathroom and started cooking. Dropped food on the floor in front of me and put back in the pan to cook. When another customer complained the mgr said that putting it back will take the germs out. Are they kidding? enter at your own risk, this place will get you sick
Review Source:Yet another suburban strip mall Chinese takeout joint, with the stereotypical, wall-to-wall array of backlit photos of Chinese dishes over the counter. If you don't know what a plate of Lemon Chicken looks like, you can see it here.
I tried two dishes, and was underwhelmed. The broth in the wonton soup was passable, but the wontons were really bland and mushy. Other than a slight hint of ginger, they were entirely without flavor. Cold noodles with sesame sauce, comprised of overcooked Shanghai egg noodles topped with a gloppy peanut sauce, is best forgotten.
This place is a good fit in this neighborhood, which has a large population of elderly folks, many probably without teeth. I'm sure they like soft, bland food.
I won't be back, but don't want to unduly slam this business without trying more entrees. Instead, I'll recommend the far superior Jade Garden in downtown Westfield.
I am not a hard person to please when it comes to Chinese food.  It's pretty simple.. make it good (not usually that healthy, and bring decent portions.  This was my first time ordering from this place, but thought I'd give it a try.  I ordered my 'standard' for my Chinese likings.. Mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken and egg roll (usually lasts me 2 or 3 days).  When I called in I specifically asked for the MB to be cooked 'not spicy' and got the combination on the sweet & sour chicken; served with pork fried rice and egg roll.  They informed me that delivery would be 1 hour or more; I opted to pick it up.  Well, I got home to find:  A- MB was spicy; full of red pepper  B- chicken was over breaded and under cooked, C- no egg roll in my order and D- food was not at all hot.  I called back to advise of the discrepancies with my order and they said they'd get it out right away to me.  It's now 30 minutes later and still no replacements.  Then, to top it all off, while I was eating the rice and chicken I found a staple in my food.. A FRIGGIN' STAPLE!!  and these are items that came in plastic containers, so it wasn't from the food containers themselves.  I will NOT give this place a 2nd chance.. the food was so bad it wasn't even mediocre!
Review Source:I've lived in Clark for 2 years and Main Moon seems to have changed management/owners/cooks 3 times, but the group that is in there now is by far the best. Pricing is typical for chinese. All foods are goods, soups are a lil bland. If you really want a good, interesting dish with a hint of spice try the Singapore Chow Mei Fun.......fantastic.
Review Source:I came here for Michael F's glowing review. I wish I could give half-stars because this is a 3.5 place. Definitely better than A-OK, but not something I would die for. I have to say it is better than other fast food Chinese places that I've had, and at least they don't have friends explaining the health inspector's complaints while you are ordering.
Not familiar with the Clark area, but it is a good place to go to. Prices not too bad.
