went there for a friends birthday the other month. The food was Fantastic., but the we meet the staff. Our waitress sucked the food runner was leaning on us while he was serving food. The worst part we told them three times about the birthday and when it came time for the desert nothing happen. On our way out we wanted to talk to the manager and  she tells some joe shmo go talk to him i dont have time to deal with him..
really bad service but overall go there for the food
What is with the Resorts Margaretville. Â While the drinks are great, my Fish Tacos just plain sucked. Â I don't know how you screw up fish tacos, but here's a description. Â The fish itself was grilled grouper and the best part of the dish if you could find it buried under about a pound of milky slaw and wrapped in a stale tortilla. Â Maybe I should have stuck with the cheeseburger.
As a side note. Â We sat outside on the boardwalk all the way at the last table. Â The waitresses kept walking by us, around the little fence barricade and around the corner to catch a smoke! Â Really? That is really low class.
They can do better.
I've heard so much about Margaritaville, but I've never had the chance to try it. Since its pretty close to the hotel I'm staying at, I decided to give it a try. My friend and I were greeted by an extremely cheerful hostess, but it went down from there. After we were seated all of the waiters & waitresses (and there are many) passed by my friend and I without even looking at our table. Fifteen+ minutes later we flagged someone down and said we had no waiter, water, silverware, nothing. Then we got a waitress who was extremely nice, I believe he name was Jowana. I ordered the coconut shrimp and my friend ordered the jerk salmon and spinach & artichoke dip. I tried her dip and it was so creamy I couldn't eat another bite..I couldn't even taste the spinach or artichoke. My friends' salmon came out burnt and my coconut shrimp came out sweet, the mashed potatoes that were on the side tasted like they came from a box and lacked salt, and the vegetables (green beans and a single red pepper slice) were practically uncooked and definitely unseasoned. My friend showed our waitress the burnt salmon and she was brought another by a server named VJ, who didn't even have the courtesy to  look at us as he practically slammed the dish on the table. I usually don't review restaurants, I just post pictures, but I had to write about my experience as soon as I got back to my hotel. The only nice part was our wonderful waitress Jowana.
Review Source:Just came back from lunch there today. This is what Atlantic City needs in the future. If you want a fifty dollar steak, there are plenty of places in the casino hotels. If you want an all you can eat buffet lunch, take the bus with the church ladies. If you are looking for a nice Florida style beach bar and restaurant, the Land Shark at Margaritaville is your place.
This is not a gourmet restaurant, nor does it pretend to be. Pub grub, a cold beer, tables overlooking the beach and the ocean and most of all, fresh air. Certainly something very different in AC.
The price of food is over priced, to me. The portions are small. I just got an appetizer and had no problems with the size or price of my food but everyone else who ordered entrees thought what they ordered was small. I had intentions on going to the beach after so I needed not to look pregnant by eating a heavy burger. Two salads were ordered, a veggie burger, jerk chicken, fish tacos and fries. Everyone enjoyed their food. The wait is a little long but not crazy. The only problem was someone in my party ordered the fish tacos and she was made to wait longer than everyone else so we were practically done when she got her food. Then her fish tacos were wrong so they had to redo the tacos all over. She ate her beans and rice plus the fries. She was full by the time they came back with the tacos. They took care of her so no complaints.
I had the chicken quesadilla. It was good minus the sweet (sun dried tomato?) tortilla. That threw off the taste of my quesadilla. I just need it savory. The guacamole was delicious!! We all ordered the blender drinks. They range in pricing depending on what you order but not by much. It says $14.25 but I paid $1 more, for what, not sure. Had a blue fin, pretty good. Not strong but I could taste the tequila. Our server, I wanna say Brian since it's on the receipt, was pretty damn amazing. Suggestions, small talk, very helpful and all around great server. Made our visit extremely pleasant.
Great drinks! At first the bartender was extremely busy and forgot to make one of our drinks! But the drinks were really good! As for dinner.... Not good at all! The server was nice. The food was horrible. I had a steak which was really dry, my friend had jerk chicken which was just so nasty and my boyfriend had a burger which was okay. My friend sent back her chicken and it took the server 40 min to return to the table to tell us it should be a few more minutes. At that point we had to cancel the order and just keep drinking! Really nice place just don't eat the food! If your ever in Nashville got to that location the food is soooo good!
Review Source:This is a tough one. I LOVE that there is a fun tropical themed place on the boardwalk in what used to be a dead zone. The ambience is good - we sat outside and the view was relaxing, with some trees and lights. The wait was ok (about 20 mins) and the staff was friendly. The menu had some ingenuity, and was reasonably priced. A glass of wine was $6...not bad.
Here's the downside. We both ordered salads, and it took forever for them to come out, even though the fried chicken on my husbands salad was served cold. My salad was fine, but the lettuce in his salad was limp, mushy, dare I say, slimy. As if it had been sitting in dressing for an hour? He sent it back and got a sandwich instead, so I waited for his 2nd entree to come out before I could eat mine....over an hour in total at that point. The waitress was friendly but did not say much about the salad, no apology, etc. She saw I wasn't eating yet and I said I was waiting for him, but she didn't offer him bread or anything to pass the time...no comp or even a free drink. I think if a customer waits that long for a limp salad, you should offer them something while they wait for a replacement. My salad was fine. Nothing special or particularly flavorful.
We had a great time! Â The night we went for dinner, there was a 45 minute wait. Â We decided to try and find seats at the bar and luckily we did. Â Our bartender was fantastic and very accommodating. Â We ordered the coconut shrimp and the quesadillas which were very good. Â
We also got the margaritas and convinced our bartender to let us have the only 2 glasses available. Â She explained that the reason they use plastic cups is because too many people leave the restaurant with them to go to the casinos and they never get them back. Â When I couldn't decided on a frozen or on the rocks margarita, she suggested I mix the two and it was awesome! Â Great live band and fun atmosphere.
We liked it so much that we went back the next day. Â We sat by the window so we could people watch and eat our cheeseburgers in paradise. Â Can't wait to return!
Great service, good food for a fair price. My wife and I enjoyed our first dinner at Margaritaville, The decorations are fantastic. The atmosphere was beyond what we have experienced at other Margaritaville's in Key West and Las Vegas. The bar gets alot of customers and could use another bartender at busy times. Our server Corrine was very professional and friendly. We are definately going to return!
Review Source:Very disappointing. Â We have been to the Vegas location and AC has some ways to go to catch up. Â After a two hour drive, we were looking forward to getting the Volcano Nachos and drinks at their bar. Â We both ordered beers and for $5.50, they came in these small plastic cups. Â I was in shock as I watched the bartender give bigger cups to other patrons. Â When I asked her why this occurs, she told me that I got the right size cup and others just got lucky. Â Really? Â How crappy. Â We turned to just waters at that point. Â Then the nachos came out. Â They certainly are impressive to see but quantity does not necessarily mean quality. Â They poured liquid cheese throughout the middle so the chips on the bottom half were totally soggy. Â The meat, beans and peppers were barely noticeable. Â So incredibly disappointing after the same dish being one of our faves in Las Vegas. Â Lastly, there is no happy hour here. Â Just surprising as this could be my last visit.
The next night we got beers and pizza at the bar at the Steel Pier just outside the Taj Mahal. Â The beers were only $3 (all day at all times) and the pizza was delicious from the small shack next to it. Â I suggest you check out that place first.
By far the worst Margaritaville I've EVER been to... "Don't DO/AC."
Guess what they didn't have half of the drinks menu because they ran out of alcohol... REALLY??? Ok, then I'll have the Seasonal Sam Adams as indicated on the menu.... Guess what they didn't have that either. Wow... AC dies do low rent so well. Â Keep on moving to the Borgata where they know how to treat their customers...
PS. I have it one star because it was the lowest I could rate it.
Don't go! I sat over 30minutes before my first beer came. Food came an hour and a half after we sat down. Foid came out sporadicly. Appetizers came out after the food. The put in the wrong order for one person. My meal was bland....they didn't salt the water for the pasta or add any salt what so ever. And they forgot our order to go. They sucked so bad and realized it so they comped our meal. The kitchen was totally overwhelmed.
Review Source:We came here to grab a few drinks and listen to love music. Â M had the 5'O'Clock somewhere--he had the same drink previously at Landshark and stated that the one at Margaritaville's was way too sweet. Â K had the Shipwrecked and enjoyed the sweet mixed with a little kick. Â We watched the band Animal House and they were a good cover band. Â Definitely a place we would go back to for drinks and live music!!
Review Source:Bad food, sort of ok drinks, obnoxious loud music.
I should have known better than to order a dish I loved at a beach BBQ shack in Florida, at a national tourist trap chain in New Jersey. I had their conch fritter ($10) appetizer as a light entree. They brought out fewer fritters than the waitress said they would, and when I politely mentioned this they did not bring out any more. That turned out to be a good thing though, because I couldn't have choked down any more of those overly salted, fried corn balls laced with small rubbery bits that might or might not have been conch. Adding insult to injury, the "mustard caper" dipping sauce was straight mayonnaise.
My dinner companions split a Cuban sandwich ($12). It turned out to be a squashed stale hoagie bun with a miserly portion of processed Oscar-Meyer packaged ham. The unfortunate person eating it noted she could have gotten a better sandwich from 7-11.
The traditional ("Who's to Blame") margarita was almost ok at $8. It was very tart, which I prefer, but my dinner companion hated it. I also couldn't taste any alcohol. They brought out the most expensive, double-size one (it comes in a tacky plastic souvenir "blender" cup) and attempted to argue that was what we actually ordered when we noticed the $15 charge on the bill.
The atmosphere is typical loud tourist trap. It would be cute if they actually served good food but since our dinner was barely palatable the fake beach decor and loud music were just grating.
Bottom line: food is awful and overpriced, service is borderline poor and margaritas are drinkable though might not contain actual alcohol. If you do come here order their chili nachos if you must eat something- the table next to us seemed satisfied with that.
Or just get a funnel cake out on the Boardwalk and call that dinner.
I had breakfast here this past weekend, both Saturday and Sunday: I had the Key West and Huevos Rancheros - both were good. Â The coffee arrived not hot enough. Â The staff is friendly and seems to be happy so far. Â
I want to give a 4 star: I arrived at 10:15 a.m. for breakfast and was told by the hostess they were closed for breakfast and would be serving lunch at 11:00 a.m.  When I asked what were the hours for breakfast on Sundays I was told 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. - I mentioned to her  it's not 10:30 a.m.  I was immediately seated when someone else said breakfast was still being served.  It's Sunday morning - not sure who will be running out of their beds to get breakfast before 10.30 a.m. - this will be a downfall.  I want to suggest there should be a breakfast/brunch menu for the weekends.
From observation, a few of the staff are from Breadsticks when they were at that location - at least I recognized the hostess who attempted to turn me away. Â She was not the most professional and customer oriented person at Breadsticks; not sure of Margaritaville's intention, but most of the Breadsticks staff are far from professional and may not be the right fit for Margaritaville.
On Saturday night, the coffee shop was closed before 8:00 p.m. Â Not sure why you would want to turn away customers whether at the coffee shop or the restaurant. Â Hopefully, on my next visit to Atlantic City I can write a better review of Magaritaville.
I would rather give 3.5 stars.
The staff is all pleasant and smiling. The atmosphere and decorations is just what you'd expect except they're music did not match the theme. There should be constant island music, Â summer themed light rock, Buffet, and reggae!!
The food is ok. Lava Lava shrimp is like Bang Bang shrimp. I just wish it was spicier (but then no one would probably like it). My rice on my entree felt like it had sand it it. CRUNCH CRUNCH. The nachos are HUGE and delicious. The baja fish tacos lacked flavor probably since all you taste is a mess of mayonnaise and cabbage at the bottom and it wasn't actually seasoned at all. The margaritas aren't terribly sweet so that was good (I ordered 'margarita on the rocks, salt).
Someone in my party was upset that there was no free wi-fi and she had terrible cell phone service. She said "you'd think they'd want people to post on facebook while there here so their friends will come join them".
One cool thing is that they have live music EVERY night starting at 10pm. The bad thing is that.... it starts at 10pm... It would be great if it was all day on weekends!
Also they initially gave us a 2 hour wait time... and half of the tables were empty and the servers were waiting around to make money. Maybe they need to work on their kitchen being able to keep up with a full house?! We ended up schmoozing a nearby waiter into seating us immediately. Oh yea and in the bathroom the (only) hand dryer is on the wall over the sink all the way to the left so that you have to wait for the person at that sink to move so you can use it. Trust me. It's annoying.
As a resident of Atlantic City, I know where I enjoy spending my time. I'm not sure that I would go out of my way to gather a group of friends to go, but I would go back especially for some live music and the nice staff.
Oh yes and for just opening I was surprised that they didn't have comment cards.
Keep working at it Margaritaville!
I came opening weekend hoping to sit on the boardwalk outside Margaritaville and people watch. For some reason, even though there were people sitting on tables on the boardwalk, the hostess told us they were not going to seat people on the boardwalk. Oh well.. There was a 30 minute wait for a table inside so my friends and I decided to just get drinks at the bar.
You can't go to Margaritaville and NOT get a Margarita. I got the "Booze in the Blender" mango margarita. It was $15 for 22 ounces of frozen mango heaven. I didn't necessarily want to drink that much margarita, but decided I could not leave without the souvenir plastic blender. Unfortunately I was not allowed to leave Margaritaville with alcohol still in my blender, even to walk around the Resorts Casino. I had to quickly drink as much of my frozen drink as fast as I could without getting too much of a brain freeze. Â While my friends waited for me to finish my drink we ended up having a hula hoop competition..hula hoops provided by Margaritaville. I think they were for kids but we had just as much fun, if not more than the kids did. I did end up dumping some of the drink (I know...I know...) but was happy to keep walk away with my plastic blender! :)
All the food looked and smelled delicious. Next time I'll try it out.
