This was the worst dining experience ive ever had!! Waited 25 minutes after being seated before i finaly asked the hostess if we had a waiter or not. He finally got there and we ordered drinks and our meal at the same time since we had time to memorize the menu. Took another 30 minutes or so before we ended up getting dinner entrees BEFORE our salads, .and never got the bread and muffins that theyre so famous for! We finally get our appetizer (which we ordered late so, understandable that it was late). I then asked for another waiter and we got a girl named Ally who was very nice, pleasant, and apologetic for the other waiter. We asked for a manager, who also took about 25 minutes to get to us because he was busy talking to another dissatisfied customer. He also seemed like we were not right for asking to speak to him and that we were being unreasonable. He offered us a 10% discount, we talked him into a 15% discount and 25% discount on our next bill. When we finally paid, i made sure the initial waiter didnt get his tip but that ally got hers, and we gave the 25% gift certificate back to the hostess because we will most definitely NOT be coming back here! The food itself was very good but overpriced for the crappy service!
Review Source:This was our back-up plan when the Reel Inn fell through. Â We were there at night and had to sit inside, so it wasn't as nice if we had gone during the day and got to sit outside. Â We started out with some cocktails, and our waitress was clearly clueless about alcohol. Â She was useless in giving suggestions so we just went up to the bar and talked directly to the bartender. Â The food was pretty good--cream of crab soup gets an A+--but not sure if the meal was worth $100+ for three people.
Review Source:I do not know what this establishment is trying to be, but it hd not a restaurant. I own a profitable business and this is not how you manage and serve the public. Hostess is awful - food is mediocre at best - prices are too high. Â $121 for four people for lunch (2 burgers, a salad, and a sandwich + a few beers).
Review Source:We went here on Aug 20 for dinner. Â The place was dead. It's been about 10 years since I've been to OC and I remember this place used to be jumping. Â It might be because we were there the week after the peak of OC season. Â Anyways, the food wasn't as great as a I remember, but my tastes may have changed too. Â The draw is the bread basket, which passes around as many blueberry muffins, coconut muffins, raisin bread, and rye (?) bread as you want, which is all very good. Â I had the coconut shrimp - good, but nothing to write home about. Â My husband had shrimp three ways, which he enjoyed, but again nothing stellar. Â He didn't want a potato, so asked for a vegetable instead, which was gross and disappointing - canned green beans doused in greasy bacon. Â Normally we love bacon, but this was just gross. Â They used to make their own desserts here, but don't anymore and our waitress was good enough to warn us of this. Â We still got dessert and it was satisfying, but nothing amazign as I don't even remember now what it was. Â They have a children's menu that was very reasonably priced. Â The prices on the other food was a bit high, since it wasn't anything phenominal. Â You can get coupons on their website - we had one, which made the meal worth it. Â Our server was excellent. Â There is supposed to be a children's room with a babysitter, but our server informed us it's no longer in use - I'm not sure if that's just because we were there off-peak or if it's never in use anymore. Â They take reservations.
Review Source:We came here since we saw them on http://restaurant.com and figured we'd try it. Â Food was average, but entrees seemed a little overpriced - menu on their website has names of entrees and no prices with them. Â If I saw those we probably would have passed. Â For $96 for two before the $25 certificate, Id expect more than $5 plastic chairs to sit on / plastic tables. Â Bathrooms are disgusting too. Not sure if prices are like it because of being at the beach, but I know there are other restaurants on the bay that you can get a better or similar food, better views of the bay, and pay less.
Review Source:Used to be my favorite place to eat. I grew up eating here on family vacations to OCMD. Awesome location, sits right on the bay close to all the action in OC.
Plus's, they have a great selection of fresh bread that makes the rounds prior to dinner, try the raisin bread, it is fantastic.
The tropical salad is also exceptional, very light, perfect beach salad. Shrimp, Oranges, light dressing.
Great drinks as well.
Something has gone terribly wrong with the service/food here over my past three visits. I don't know if a change in ownership occurred but the place has definitely gone downhill.
Super disappointed, hopefully it will rebound, provided I give this place another chance.
The bread basket and the location are the best things about this restaurant! Â The bread basket is TO DIE FOR, freshly baked breads and muffins, delish! Â The setting is great, right on the piers on the bay side, best at sunset, sit outside if you can. Â The seafood is expensive and fair. Â Other items are OK.
Review Source:I absolutely love Marina Deck an my family has been coming here for years. The food is always spectacular. The bread basket rules. The things that has kept us coming back, though, is their head chef.
My sister is one of those truly annoying folks that dine with - she's a vegan. A vegan in a seafood restaurant. Now, as someone in the restaurant industry myself, I would probably question exactly why a no-animal-ingredient lady would be in - but it was with family. Naturally, she experienced some difficulty in finding food and questioned our extremely patient waitress on every seemingly veg-friendly item until the chef himself walked out. They spoke about a dish he could create, he asked what she liked for spices, and spoke about some meatless options he had considered in the past. He made a terrific pasta dish for her and since then, it's on the menu.
This was years ago in the off-season and we continue to return every year to support such a good business. The grub is always amazing and I leave every time with a minor food coma. Highly recommended.
Marina Deck had the best service of all the restaurants I went to in Ocean City. Â I got the shrimp scampi and the bf got the blue crab and shrimp combo. Â Both entrees came with your choice of salad and side. They have a waitress come around with a basket of breads including blueberry muffins, coconut muffins, and cinnamon raisin bread. Â It was a really cute idea and the bread was good. I also got half a dozen oysters which were perfect. Â Our meal totaled only 60 dollars and we were stuffed! Such a good deal! And the outdoor deck is gorgeous.
Review Source:Some of the best bar food specials around. Â 4.99 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp or 6.99 12 steamed clams. Â They have a steamer right behind the bar, they put in fresh raw seafood and out comes hot tasty morsels in about 90 seconds... awesome! Â
Buffalo Chicken Sticks are great! Â Cross between mozzarella sticks and hot wings.
We always pop in at the bar a few times when we are on vacation.
Beautiful view of the water and a nice, quiet dinner experience!
Recommend the buffalo/chicken dip appetizer for a change of pace...
Anyway, the service was friendly and everything we ordered was exactly what we would have hoped it would be. Nice to not go to a rip off place in the touristy area of town. Good for families.
We went to the Marina Deck on cruisin weekend. Met up with a group of 25 people to have dinner. The crew could not handle this amount of people at one time. One would assume they'd have ample/professional service. The server had the biggest attitude of anyone I have seen. It took 20 minutes to get my first drink. Then I had to ask 3 times for another. At this time I said the heck with it. I ordered muscles to eat. They sat in the kitchen to long they were cold. I was afraid to send it back. Did not order no other food from that point. So when the bill came they over charged me for a couple of things I did not order. They also over charged 5 other people at the table. So after we finally got that straight. It took over 20 minuets to get my credit card back so we could leave. The way we were treated I would not recommend a dog have diner here. (By the way the bill was over 1500.00 dollars.) It could of been more if I would of ordered dinner.
Review Source:Maybe we came on a good night, but this was the first good dinner we had all week in Ocean City. Â The staff was very pleasant and accommodating, the food was fresh and above average for OC, and the atmosphere was authentic, unlike many of the restaurants up the Coastal Highway which could be in any American suburb. Â I'm not a crab cake expert by far, but I enjoyed mine a great deal. Â And the bread served by a friendly smiling girl with a basket? Â What's better than that?
Review Source:We've been coming to ocean city for years and Marina Deck has always been our "nice dinner" out as a group. Â in the past it has been great but the last couple years have been absolutly AWFULLLLL!!! last night was no exception to our bad experiences lately. Â I got the all you can eat feast and added the blue crabs to it. Â my crabs were all bad and rotten with an awful smell to them, half my shrimp and clams were overcooked and i tried to fill up on the ones that werent. Â my mom and another man in our group got the softshell dinners and could only eat the legs off of them because they werent softshells they had a hard shell and wayyy too much cartlidge. Â my dad got the mediteranian steak ordered medium, it came out well well done and way to salty, the shrimp and scallops that came with it had the same overcooked and too salty taste too. Â One of the lady in our group ordered crab legs thinking you cant go wrong with that, however half the legs had no meat in them and the ones that did were so overcooked you couldnt get the meat out of them.
the only plus side of our dinner was the bread thats always wonderful and our server georgia who was very friendly and got our large group everything we needed in a timely manner, im a waitress so i know how hard this is and from one waitress to another she was great.
They have a girl who walks around with a bread basket and offers you choices. This bread is amazing. The coconut muffins are to die for and the rasin bread has super sweet icing. The bread is my favorite part of the meal.
The main meal leaves a little more to be desired, but it is good enough, and when you fill up on the bread you don't really need much of a meal :)
We were at Sunfest this weekend in Ocean City, and could not find a parking spot so we ducked into the Marina Deck for lunch. I'm originally from Salisbury, so this was not my first trip to the Deck, but it was certainly the worst. My father and I contracted an awful case of food poisoning. We think it came from the oyster sandwiches that we had.
I can however recommend the cream of crab soup. It is a safe bet for anyone that likes chowders and seafood. We all know that seafood is very touchy, so I will chalk it up to a bad couple of oysters in the bunch.
I can't say enough great things about this place.... it reminds me of an old, rustic, eastern shore crab shack... where you know that anything and everything you order off the menu is going to be awesome. Give the Chesapeake Crab Dip for starters (to die for), or the Seafood Wedges..... for your meal, enjoy their Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, or.... go for it and order the Broiled Seafood Feast.... No matter what you order, you'll be very pleased....
Review Source:If you're in the inlet area of Ocean City and are looking for a good place to fill up on seafood this is it. Â The service is exceptional, the portions are enormous, and you can't beat the fresh muffin basket that comes around 3-4 times per meal. Â
Unfortunately, the food is not of high quality. Â My last meal there resulted in a bland crabcake, inedible flounder and an overcooked lobster tail. Â Stick with the "can't be ruined by the chef" options like all-you-can-eat crab legs.
