Cap'n Crunch French Toast. Yep, that's right. Seeing that was enough to venture into here for some breakfast before heading back home.
The Pirate's Den is large. One half of the building is a bar and the other half is a restaurant, which was fairly packed. There is also a little Tiki bar next to it with some additional outside seating. It was already warm out, so we opted to wait for a table inside.
About 10 min later we were seated and noticed something interesting on all the surrounding tables: liquor bottles. Our surfer dude waiter then showed up and put down two Crown Royal bottles...filled with water. I guess it's their unique way of recycling here, which I thought was pretty cool.
Anyway, the french toast...talk about a unique, yet simple concoction. And it was actually really good. In fact, it's a very filling, carb heavy breakfast and I couldn't even completely finish it. I also sampled the eggs benedict, which were thumbs up.
Original, yet simplistic, The Pirate's Den is a fun, breakfast/brunch spot in O.C. Next time, lunch.
