Max's Italian Grill

we hadn't been to max's in a long time for no reason and were pleasantly surprised this evening by nice people, big portions and fair prices.

aside from fried zucchini and mozzarella, the chicken parms wre huge and served with a large side of pasta.  my pasta special was fabulous, with sardines, raisins, pignoli nuts, dill and olive oil.  

we're sure to go back and not wait a long time again.

Average at best. Chicken Parm was 'wet' and the sauce was plain. On par with the local pizzerias. OK for take out but it would be nice to have a great local Italian eatery. This isn't it.

We love Max's and we know good Italian food (two Chicagoans living in the NYC area, toured Italy, etc.). Max's isn't necessarily the most authentic Italian food, however, it's really freaking good and generally authentic enough esp. with respect to what passes for Italian in America.

The food hits the mark every time in terms of flavor, quality ingredients, portion size, etc. Decor is good - tidy interior, not too big, not too small, clean. Service is always excellent.

We go to Max's all the time and they never let us down!! Would highly recommend to family and friends.
