Hey, people standing outside to get inside, we can never be friends.

Boy-o-boy. I haven't been here in a while, and from what I heard there's a good reason for it. Everytime I came here, it was at most a mediocre time. Things that I remember from Mcduffy's: 1) So many fat, nasty, horrible attitude, skanky women, and damn near retarded men. Now I'm guessing at this point you are taking this as being shallow. No I'm not that shallow, I'm speaking the truth. i.e. I was here and ordering a couple of beers when some very large, manly woman comes up to me and asks me if one of the beers was hers. I said (being nice) absolutely and a shot if you dance with my friend on his birthday. She called me an a@#hole and told me I should buy her those drinks anyways. Now at this point I told her she was out of her f*&king mind. She then proceeds to tell her exact opposite boyfriend (skinny, looked like a woman) that I was trying to hit on her. Now it was at this point 2 of my friends came over wondering what happened to the beers and nothing further came of it. But this is just one ex. of bad attitudes from screwy people. 2) The many dance off's between people that no way no how should or could dance. It does make for some amazing comedy so I can't diss it that bad. But when it comes down to it, Mcduffy's is confused. They temporarily changed the name to Erik's Nighclub, which was a gimmick to get people in, and it didn't work. They have a slide about five feet long which you go down and get a watered down shot. A mezzanine level for some reason or another. They have a pool table, multiple dart boards, 2 foozball tables, and can't forget the slide. These are all in random places, for weird reasons. I think this place could do so much for itself. It just needs to make up it's mind on what exactly it is. I really don't see this place being open for much longer. It's open maybe twice a week and when it is, the crowd it gets in is tiny and spread out. I can't see how they make enough money to pay the employees and the bills. Downtown major clubs are the only places that are open that often and can make a profit. So i guess come here for comedy and to see what I'm talking about, because you may not have an opportunity in the future.

It turned back into McDuffy's.  This place is never as crowded as it used to be.  I dont understand why.  Anyways drinks are ok, music is usually pretty lame.  Its an ok bar its just never crowded.  No one ever goes there anymore.

    HAHAHAHAAAA! LOL!!!

I am loving these reviews. Ok first I need to tell you - McDuffy's is no more. I KNOW! A friend and I went there for a drink and we were astonished to see a new sign that read "Erik's Niteclub" LAME!!!! Not only was it bright and cheesy, but it was also empty and it was like midnight. Anway....the old McDuffy was full of trashy southsiders but it was also a great place to hang after the South Side Irish Parade. Now what am I going to do this St. Paddy's day? Guess it is Cork and Kerry's - which is fitting however....I love to people watch and McDuffy's was a prime place to get a cheap beer and a good laugh!

Ahh McMatrix.  The last resort when you realize you cant get laid in a certain other dance club about 4 blocks south.  I remember when this place first opened back up after a year or so of vacancy.  I still didn't want to go there even though I lived a few blocks away and could crawl home.

While, unfortunately I did and had to sit in a line to get in.  I had more fun in the line than I did inside.  I kept talking to people and a lot of them were driving 10+ miles to get there.  I wouldn't walk across the street to get to this place.

The one plus is that they serve their mixed drinks in these weird almost chalice looking glasses.  I'm stretching to find a plus here.  Maybe the other plus was the upstairs balcony like area where you can look down and people watch on the dance floor.  After about a half hour that was littered with free drinks since I knew the bartender I had to head kitty corner to a less obnoxious place.

I'm the first to review McDuffy's!?!  Yelp is seriously lacking demographic diversity when the #1 south side kid drinking dance place ain't been yelped!

I myself don't come here for the pole-dance or hard body competitions.  See the owner's got a few Tornado foosball tables and likes to play.  So even though I'm not a Jaegerbomb pounding, 20-something, girl scamming southsider, this place still gets 5 stars for being the best at what it does AND having foosball and a cool owner.
