Went here for a friends birthday.  Quite frankly, I never heard of this place until I was invited here, this restaurant acts like it doesn't want to be found.  It's a rather small little place on the south side of Ogden Avenue.  It doesn't really shout out what kind of place it is, just a dark red awning that says Mi Casa.

Interior of the facility is very mininalist, about a dozen tables, lots of windows.  You go inside and you're not sure you're in a restaurant, but you are.  Menu has some of the basic mexican dishes, a selection of beers and a variety of tequila based drinks.

Ordered chorizo quesadilla's, steak fajuita and a margarita.  Margarita came first and to be honest I had better.  Took a while for the quesadilla to arrive.  Once it did, I found that it was salty and very very greasy.  Almost like a greaseball pepperoni pizza.  Here's a chance for the fajuita to come through....nope.  Stuff was overly seasoned and salty, natural flavor of the beef and vegetables was lost.

Service was friendly but slow.  Sorry folks, there are just too many outstanding mexican restaurants for me to give this place another shot.

Tried to go to Lalo's, but couldn't find a parking spot near the place, so I asked my GPS for a Mexican restaurant and Mi Casa was the closest so we gave it a try.

Not a single person was in the place, which made me think twice.  However, our food was great and the owners were fantastic.  We ordered a chicken dish, a steak disk, and tacos.  All three entrees were excellent.

This is a hidden gem.  I hope more people find this place.

I want to give them 5 stars just for effort! We've been here before a couple of years ago, I guess new owners have it now. Really nice improvement, place looks great, updated, modern, look, sound and feel.

The menu is typical Mexican food but the preparation and presentation set it apart. I wanted the grilled steak but on a whim asked if they had mole, which I've been having a craving for but only eat about once a year, and it must be homemade ( my mom!) anyway, although it was not on the menu they made it for me! It was ok, not great but I will let it slide again because of the effort they went to, not even on the menu and they still made it. Bet if it were a menu item it would be fantastic.Served with  boneless skinless chicken breast, it was a little over-seasoned but still killed the craving. My honey had a burrito dinner which he absolutely loved; they had grilled the burrito after preparing it and it was toasty. Sides were good, the usual rice and beans. For appetizer we had a chorizo quesadillas which as huge! Easily feeds four as an appetizer. The best part was the "aguas" they had the aguas of the day listed. I had guava and it was so delicious I ordered a second one.

Service was fast and friendly. I am looking forward to having an event, any event just so I can book this place. You can book if for a party, if I understood them correctly, guests would be ordering off the menu, however, there is no facility charge, and you can have the place til 2 am! Nice place, intimate feel, you can bring your own music as they have a music docking station.

I've done lunch at Mi Casa and love it! The cactus salad is a must! Very unique but be advised that it is warm. I can also vouch for the steak torta, steak fajitas, and chicken in mole sauce. Very fresh and great presentation. Don't forget to ask for the fresh waters....my favorite flavor is mango. Delicious!
