I no longer have to drive to the west side of Houston to get great pizza. I'd put the Slice up against any gourmet pizza place in Texas. And just down the road from me in Seabrook across from the post office? How lucky is that! Discovered this place when I was unemployed. Glad I got a job so I can buy more pizza. It's all good on the menu. I usually get a Sancho meat-lover's pizza slice and then one more of something different. I'm a big guy and two slices is a meal for me. Takeout, delivery, or eat it there on picnic tables under the live oak tree. Evenings they have live music and free beer. Do not hesitate: go there!
Review Source:We came here on a Wednesday evening. Â Friendly staff, funny named pizzas and a quirky location made for a fun late evening in a town that seems to have many food locations closing early. Â We ordered the Sancho (pepperoni, Canadian bacon and Italian sausages) and the Lezzy (veggie pizza using a pesto sauce and added cheese). Â We decided to sit outside as it was a tad warm indoors. Â Backyard atmosphere with a mixture of park bench seating and tables with folding chairs. Â White holiday lights wrapped the top railing of the fence to help illuminate the area. Â Sadly, our evening was cut short as there were several mosquitoes that had decided to dine on us as we received our first pizza. Â Aside from the painful histamine reaction from the multiple bites I received, the pizza was quite tasty. Â We demolished the Sancho in 5 minutes and took our Lezzy home. Â We will definitely come back but likely order our pizzas to go. Â
FYI - we used the check-in 50% appetizer coupon offered on Yelp towards a spinach salad - quite delish. Â Highly recommended. Â :)
I have driven by this place more times than I could count but ever stopped. Vibe from the street always looked cool.... Outside seating.. Live bands....Well today, on a Sunday afternoon I decided to stop. Was only me and two other customers. They were both eating a $5 slice.. I was going to get a slice as well till the girl at the counter told me Sundays were any pizza for $12.. I got the Nay Nay which is pepperoni and sausage.... I have to admit I am glad the pizza was on sale cause normal prices were about $15 to $20 a pie which seemed kind of steep to me.
The pizza is OK.. I laughed at some of the reviews about large toaster ovens but yep.. that is what they have.. Like 3 toaster ovens to cook pizza. Â The crust on mine was good. I do agree with the "dinner roll" analogy some have used.. BUT my crust was burnt on one side not on the other. I am assuming due to the uneven cooking of the giant toaster oven. The crust was kinda soggy and thin in the middle. This may have been from the grease on the pizza making it soggy or once again the toaster oven not cooking it crisp. I think it was more the grease though. The Nay Nay is cut into squares and honestly the crustless pieces in the middle would be impossible to eat with your hands. its like sogged with grease and juice.. It is a very very thin crust in the middle... The pie was edible though. I imagine being drunk with the grease would be even more better to soak up the alcohol. Some reviews complained of taking an hour to get a pizza. It took about 12 minutes for me.. But place was pretty slow as I said
The ambiance is kitchy hipster kinda place.. Album covers stuck on the ceiling. The whole place is an old wooden house.. AC was... well.. I am glad a slight cool front came through today in Houston and it was a cool 86 degrees. If you had to sit in that place in August you would sweat to death.. And the other option of outside? It is cool but once again in Texas in August sitting outside over a hot pizza would not be fun for me at all.
The place is BYOB which is kinda cool.. And they bring in a Keg on weekends and charge $5 cover to see the bands and that $5 includes all the free beer you want.. So I am definitely going back on a weekend to give that a shot...
If you want that hole in the wall pizza from the local joint with a live band and perhaps some good ole keg beer like your high school days this might be the place for you.
I will give them another shot or two for sure. Though it make be a few weeks before my stomach recovers from the greasy nay nay... I think a 'lighter' less meaty pizza will be in order next time
Was told last time I visited that you delivered all the time to Meadow Shores in Meadowbend at no charge but when I ordered tonight on the phone, the girl said it would be a 6 dollar delivery charge because they were too busy.
The pizza is okay but it isn't worth an extra 6 bucks. Unfortunately I guess I will have to do my business elsewhere unless they stop charging extra as they please.... I just find that very unprofessional.
Best pizza in Seabrook. Â I stopped in seeing if they would buy purchase some Business Services with my company but there was a little problem in the past and I was politely declined. Â I then asked if they delivered to our subdivision 5 miles away and that answer was a yes. Â I'm glad I asked because we tried a Split top pizza and that was the best pizza we had in some time. Â The pizza was hot, fresh and great tasting. Â Thumbs up!
Review Source:First off, since moving to the area two years ago, this was the best tasting pizza that I've found, so that says a lot.
A few friends and I stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday. Â Service was great, and both the girl at the cash register and the guy making the pizzas were fun to chat with. Â
The pizza by the slice is a flat $5 (regardless of what you get), but don't be fooled by the fact that it's called a slice. Â Instead, you get a handmade half-pizza that somewhat resembles a slice for a fraction of what a full pizza will cost you. Â My friends are I were really surprised that the "slices" were made fresh when you ordered them, and weren't just sitting around waiting to be reheated. Â That being said, even if you order a slice, expect to wait at least 10 minutes for your pizza to cook.
I got a Ninja Turtle slice (sweet Italian sausage, black olives, red onions, and mushrooms) and it was fantastic. Â A friend of mine got the Menage (feta, swiss, and mozzarella), and was kind enough to let me try a bit (it was delicious). Â I think next time I'll try a Menage with Italian sausage added.
They told us about their events and music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and my friends and I all agreed that we'll be back regularly.
After a couple of visits, I must say this place is running down the right road. There is however a small problem which I hope is fixed ASAP. They don't own a pizza oven. Our pizza took almost an hour since they are using a toaster oven. Well worth the wait but they will need to spend some money before they lose customers to time issues. Good luck to them I hope to have a good pizza place making some tasty pies in the area.
Review Source:I have lived in Seabrook for nearly 9 years and have been waiting for this style eatery to surface! Â The area is so saturated with your typical fare and this is a breath of fresh air. Â The pizza is great and the music sets just the right atmosphere. Â We will continue to be patrons and hope the community embraces this funky addition to the bay area!
Review Source:I probably would give a better review had my pizza not been ice cold and had to be microwave once I received it. I will say if you can go pick up your own pizza up bc the driver doesn't follow great directions. Â I stay in apartments and my husband had to stand in the front for 25+ minutes . Â Even though I've given directions many times to family and friends and no one has every gotten lost. The driver refused to follow the road far enough down. My husband seen him turn around twice. Once he left and said he was at a tattoo shop like we were suppose to met him there. I probably won't order again bc it was pricey and kinda small to say I spent 22 on one pizza.
On to the pizza. I got the Sancho and the Magheritta(sp?) Half and half. It seem like the crust was thin in some spots thicker in others. I like the sancho. Would probably not get the Magheritta again. I like meat.
Ok so I been wanting to try this place real bad. Finally I had the opportunity. I decided to visit and order to go instead of just calling it in. I figured that was the best way to get a feel for the place. Right off it is quaint, eclectic, and edgy(my teen called it that and was impressed). I love the whole feel of a local place like this. Now on to the food. Â Not a huge menu. Just your basic pizza type stuff. No wings or fried cheese. I went with the Menage which is a 3 cheese pizza with Swiss, mozzarella, and Feta. I added some pepperoni. Â I also went for the pizza rolls with pepperoni and sausage. The pizza comes on an amazing crust and the toppings were fresh on plentiful. Just the right amount of sauce(the sauce was not too sweet either which I appreciate). The pizza rolls were awesome with the sausage being my favorite. Once again the dough is the real star though. They come with a really nice fresh homemade dipping sauce you will appreciate. All this said I will be back and support this place. The staff were great and friendly, the food was awesome, and it is a local place I want to keep in business. They are open super late and deliver. You can BYOB and dine in the oak covered outdoor seating area. Join me in supporting a quality local business!
Review Source:This place is not Mr Gatti's or Chuck E Cheese ! It's a Pizza Pollooza ! I'm trying to recover from a pizza coma after a slice ( 1 slice ) of Reuben Pizza enough to tap out a quick review .
This is not traditional pie with sauce , cheese and pepperoni . Granted , they have all that , but its so much more . It's a little like NY style in that you can order by the slice ( a HUGE slice ) for just $5 or $6 bucks . A little like Chicago style in the way that it's better to have a knife and fork handy , at least until you whittle it down a bit . It might be kinda like some local , non-chain , pizza joints until you consider the bread .
You may have read some reviews that were harsh about the bread . This place is new , and maybe some tweaking and tuning of the oven was needed but believe me , that is no longer the case . It's a Hand-made pizza so you get some bits that are crispy . Some that are chewy . Some of its soft, inside of a crunchy part . To me the crust is perfectly , imperfect .
The toppings : it's a case of if she has it , and you think it'd be okay to have on pizza , well that's just fine . If she has stuff at hand that has the potential for pizza magic , then back up , and let her do her thing and then order some ! I think that's the Reuben talking . I won't list the toppings for you . All the usual suspects are there and more than a few others you may not suspect . All fresh !
The venue : funky , friendly , dog friendly , delivery , live music , back patio under the oaks , and OPEN LATE ! Midnite Slice
If you go with an empty belly and an open mind , you won't be let down .
I'm sure there's more I've left out but I'm not sure if I'm still in that coma or if this is real so I'm gonna go ahead and hit send
This place is a gem of Seabrook. Â We LOVE this pizza. Â It has a thin and yummy crust that is very unique. Â Plan on ordering ahead, because it takes a while to turn out a great pizza! Â It's worth the wait. Â Both the all meat AND vegetarian pizzas are super yummy. Â My kids love this pizza, too. Â The cheese pizza is spectacular. Â Yes, you will pay a little more than pizza hut, but this local business is not cutting corners and is just trying to bring you a great pizza. Â Good food costs money!
Review Source:Best margherita ever !!! It's probably not right to write a review based on one visit but that one margherita pizza was soooo freakin awesome
Went there at about 11 in the night and serendipity it was. The guy who made the pizza was cool.Took a while to get the pizza but its was worth the wait. I am definitely visiting this place again.
I really enjoyed this venue. I have lived in Clear Lake but moved to the inner loop. I get great pizza inside the loop (of course) but nothing compares south of the beltway... until Midnite opened. I stopped by on a Friday night where I was greeted by a friendly owner and her staff. The waiters are young and hip. There was a great band playing that night and I sat outside. It was a really cool, down-to-earth friendly vibe about the whole place. It was like everyone there enjoyed being there and wanted to have fun; which was nice for Seabrook. This place is a hip pizza joint for all the ppl that enjoy being cool, listening to music and eating pizza. So... as for the pizza, I had the margarita pizza and the caprese salad; both were DELICIOUS! I love that they have all natural ingredients that is as healthy as pizza can get. It was a great experience overall. I will definitely return.
Review Source:This review is only based on one trip to Midnite Slice. My husband and I stopped in shortly after they opened their doors. I understand there will be some kinks to work out with a new restaurant which is the saving grace for giving them two stars instead of one.
The place itself it tiny. The main place to sit is outside -- which gets hot, fast. However, I do like the atmosphere outside. It has potential to be a fun hangout.
The pizza took a LONG time -- close to an hour. Then, when we finally did received it, it was NOT cooked. The crust was still doughty (yes, doughy -- clearly not cooked and barely warm), but the toppings/cheese were close to burnt. The owner had left two other women there in charge, and they explained that something was wrong with the oven. Well, serving a pizza that isn't cooked shouldn't really be an option. You should just close for the evening until you can serve cooked pizza! To top it off, they didn't offer to fix the problem, and barely offered any sort of apology. We probably shouldn't have even paid for the pizza, but I was over that place, and it wasn't worth my time to explain to them that this pizza should have been free if they wanted us back as return customers.
Finally, the utensils and everything they served food on just seemed cheap. The spatula left on our table still had the Ikea sticker on the bottom, and it was way too flimsy to lift the pizza. I don't mind cheap/plastic silverware, but when you add bad pizza to it, it just makes the whole experience turn south.
Overall, it just wasn't a good experience. Â I would like to try this place again, but my husband absolutely refuses. With Marios Pizza literally less than a minute away, I doubt we'll go back.
Nothing beats a good pizza! The pizza dough actually had a homemade taste when most establishments rely on stuffings their crust with cheese or some other gimmick. Midnight Slice doesn't need to do that. It's just good, bold flavors, the way a pizza should taste. Â Everything is fresh and seasoned nicely. Atmosphere is great, indoor space is limited but with a nice sea breeze, picnic tables and the shade of old oaks it's very cool way to enjoy your food. If you don't see what you want on the menu, suggest it, request it.
The staff was great, friendly and focused on service being good.
I'm a firm believer in supporting local businesses and this one will see me frequently.
That negative review shouldn't even be in here. She didn't even taste the pizza! The place opened only 2 months ago, give them a break.
The place is very quaint. Outdoor seating only (there is one large table inside though), it's BYOB for now (this may change in the future), AND they are dog friendly!
Now for the pizza - it's fantastic! They managed to take a very heavy dish, and make it light and airy. Everything is made from scratch and you can taste how fresh it is. I loved the bread. The ambience is very nice and relaxing. We ordered the Gemini pizza which is just half and half of your choosing (we got pepperoni and margherita). After stuffing our faces, we did not feel fat or sick, like you usually feel after eating pizza. It's so light, that after 30 minutes, you're ready to eat some more!
I love pizza like a fat kid loves cake. You could call me a connoisseur, but really, I'm just a huge fan of good pizza. I live in Austin, and have traveled all over to sample the best pies that Texas' capitol has to offer - and there is a lot to offer. Home Slice, Little Deli, and East Side have all been among the best pizza I've ever had, but today there is a new entry - Midnite Slice!
Midnite Slice gives hope to the pizza scene in the Seabrook/Clear Lake/Kemah area. The location is great. You eat outside at decorated tables and it has a very friendly vibe. Also there is live music there at night. But the pizza is what makes this place really stand out. It's a bit of a wait, but wow was it worth it. Incredible ingredients and toppings, perfect crust and cheese, this pizza is as close to a 10 as you can get! I would highly recommend Midnite Slice to anyone in the area.
