This place has always been hit or miss for me. Went in Monday night planning to grab a quick beer on my way home. I ended up staying till close. Cory and Britt were on the bar outside and definitely made my night worth while. They were funny, joked around with me and each other, got my beers the second I needed one and Cory corrected my food mess up before I even knew something was wrong. And it helps that they're both hot as hell. THAT is what a bartender should be like! Those girls sealed the deal of where I'll be every Monday from now on. Still not sold on the other nights yet but getting closer...
Review Source:So Miller's Ale House is way bigger than I thought (that's what she said) and the neon glow of signs and big flatscreens permeates the place, as with any sports bar. There is a lot of seating at tall, long tables with stools. Who invented the stool, though, and seriously WHY? Whoever decided to remedy this monstrosity of a seat with a chair back was a brilliant saint. However, the stools are backless here.
Fear not though, your yelp pseudo-protagonist with poor sitting posture (me) found a table at the back. The acoustics of this place are such that it is likely loud at 10% capacity. The waitress we had did not understand or hear us at any point throughout the evening. Also, if I cared enough, I would have a bone to pick about their ridiculous uniforms. While male staff members had slacks and black button-ups or polos, the women were clad in black tees, black aprons, and uber short black shorts or skirts. Worse were the neon lime green athletic socks and neon pink suspenders. I guess the intention (other than exploiting lady limbs) was to match the neon glow? But in an environment of wood, philly colors, and fish sculptures mounted on the walls, it seemed even more ill-fitting. Which is all ultimately irrelevant, I suppose.
Because worse is the food. Who really cares what the wait staff is wearing when the food is something I could make of better quality at home? My cheeseburger was the most boring, bland burger I've had in... years. The fries on various plates at our table were inconsistent in color and spices. My brother was disappointed in the seafood mac & cheese. My friend's order of a steak with a lobster tail came accompanied by what were probably frozen veggies out of a bag.
I'd be willing to come back and maybe up the rating to three stars, but only because they have a decent set of beers available. They should just ditch most of their menu and focus on good fried appetizers, or something. The prices are okay if you are okay with sub par food.
We were staying at the adjacent Aloft hotel, and after a long day we decided to just head over. I thought I was transported back to a 1980s Bennigan's. Nearly everything was fried or covered in cheese or some fatty sauce. Dreadful.
I would have given one-star except that the service -- on a VERY busy night -- was really quite good.
I AM a fan! I definitely enjoyed my two times here within 24 hours this past weekend.
Maybe it seemed so much better to me because of the crappy service and experience had at the Aloft next door, but I thought it was a nice time.
Got there around 1030 on Sunday night for drinks with friends, the place was packed, as the following day was Memorial Day. Unfortunately they closed at midnight so we couldn't stay too long, but it was fine. Our server was great and patient with us while we decided what to drink. He offered selections and was quick to bring us our orders. He didn't even try to rush us out after last call.
The following day I went for lunch. Our server, John, was super friendly and helpful. I ordered the chicken cheesesteak with sweet potato fries and my man ordered a good old burger. Both dishes were very yummy, I ate ALL of my food, which I never do anymore!
I would gladly recommend this joint for anyone in the area or staying at the Westin or Aloft.
I was stuck in Moorestown, NJ for 2 weeks of training... Â This joint was within walking distance of my hotel, the doubletree suites... Â I ordered the ribs on rib night,,, Â they were nothing to write home about, very average at best, the slaw was bland and tasteless, the mac n cheese was clearly Kraft and out of a box very disappointing.. Â The only thing that was memorable was the Sierra Mist soda i ordered, only due to the fact it was served in a 32oz glass... Â The staff was very nice too bad the food didnt reflect the service... Â I would return to this joint for the beer,, cant really mess up a cold bottle of beer... Â Go somewhere else for a meal and head here for a drink... Â Hope this yelps
Review Source:Huge menu, huge beer list... what's not to love? Actually plenty... talk about dumbing down the bar and grill. When your signature item is a fried chicken tender with buffalo sauce you know you're reaching. Food wasn't prepared horribly, but way underseasoned, and just plain boring. Now the beer list... such a waste. So many taps, and yet very few small breweries. This is not geared towards people who want to try new and exotic beers, unless your idea of going wild is trying a Miller High Life instead of a Miller Lite. Seriously, with the name of the place and the number of Miller-Coors products they offer I just assumed they were part of that empire. After doing a little research I was surprised to find they are not oddly enough. If this place was attached to a hotel I was staying in, and there was nothing else in walking distance, I'd hit it up... maybe... but seriously there are so many places with so much more personality in almost any neighborhood.
Review Source:Stopped in for dinner and ate at the main bar. One great bartender, the other was mediocre.
Food was good, I ordered a chicken breast variant, good but unusually small helping. The mediocre bartender wouldn't let me substitute coleslaw for veggies. Weird.
Beer selection was better than typical and vibe seemed pretty good. I'll come here again.
Come for the DRINKS! This is not the type of place to visit if you are looking for a meal. That is akin to ordering seafood at a diner- you just don't do it! In terms of drinks, this place is pretty good!
They always have low priced mixed drinks that are cheaper than almost every other local bar such as $2.95 smirnoff drinks and $5 doubles. They have drink pitchers too, such as delicious margaritas, that are great to share. There are two bars- one in the restaurant section and another in the back. The younger crowd usually hangs out at the back bar, which is always more crowded. Over crowding is one of the big downsides of this bar, and on busier nights it can often be impossible to find seating, especially for groups. Miller's has an outdoor section as well which is great for late spring and summer. I think they should put a third bar outside to reduce crowding.
Overall this is a great local bar to grab a couple cheap drinks and hang out with friends.
Cheap prices = big crowds in this economy. Â It's a giant, loud, sports bar, with cheap beer and food. Â Beer is beer, but food is NOT food. Â And when it comes to Miller's food, you get what you pay for. I had no idea there are so many people that will flock to the place that charges $1 less for its burgers than every other place around. Â Maybe I'm rich, or other people are chintzy? Â Or maybe I don't mind spending the exta buck if it's actually good?
Review Source:Wide ranging draft beer menu with a slim selection of bottled brews. Â They could enhance the overall beer selection a little by adding some more good local keg beer and by offering some more range on their bottles (both domestic and import).
Food is typical pub fare, not bad but certainly not anything that's unique or special. Â I tried the zinger tacos which consist of their hot wing breast pieces served in a soft taco shell, I thought it was a cool idea to make a wing taco, the result however was just OK, adding some guacamole and fresh salsa would have made them better.
The outer bar has a porch type atmosphere which can be fairly loud.
Miller's is somewhere between a one star and a two. Ultimately, the food was terrible. From the menu selection to the final dish, it was no good. Speaking of no good, most of everything on the menu is fried or accompanies something that is fried. This is probably the reason that the food was nasty. The coconut shrimp had no coconut taste to it at all. The shrimp was small and had extra fried batter to make them look larger. The crab cake was ugh....I just don't even know what to say. The mashed potato side looked like a frozen dinner entree. The appetizer nachos we ordered were yuck. The cheese was burnt. Service was beat and couldn't care less. The only good thing was the large booths, Tvs and the beer. For a 40 minute wait on a Friday, I definitely was not feelin Millers.
Review Source:If you are looking for a place to drink cheap, this is your place... Â Food is just o-kay and that's being nice. Â My friend had the Ribs and he said they were blah.... I had a chicken sandwich which you really can't screw up unless you over cook it.. =(.. Â and a side of mashed potatoes... Â that needed salt... Â
Over all, I would NOT return..
On my first visit, I had a burger that wasn't very good.. But I decided to give Miller's another chance, and I'm glad I did.
They have baby back ribs for $10.99 on Mondays, so I decided to try that. The ribs were seriously some of the best I've ever had! Great flavor, super tender, the meat just fell off the bone. I got it with a loaded baked potato ($0.75 upcharge for loaded), which was decent enough.
All in all, a welcome surprise. Â To all of those here complaining about the bad food, try the baby back ribs and see what you think.
I went here on a Monday night with two friends. We were seated right away, and I was impressed by all of the seating options - huge booths, the bars, and tables. I am gluten free, so I requested the gluten free menu, which I saw was available on their website. The gluten free menu has the vegetarian menu also has the vegetarian menu. I noticed that the special menus do not list any prices. Both of these menus are short, but I think anyone could find something to eat here.
The service seemed a bit slow for a Monday night, but the waitress was very friendly and handled my many questions about the food well. She went back to the kitchen a couple times to inquire about gluten free options for me. Unfortunately, I wanted to order the gluten free pizza that is on the menu, but they don't actually have it in the kitchen yet. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas without the tortillas. It was a nice serving of piping hot mushrooms and peppers served with lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream. It was about $9. I also ordered a Sauza margarita for only $3.95. I was pretty satisfied with my meal, but it wasn't spectacular.
My friends ordered the chicken parm and chicken quesadilla. A couple of the pieces of my friend's quesadilla had no chicken and only a few specks of cheese, so she wasn't thrilled with her dinner. She also felt like her mixed drink had barely any booze. My chicken parm friend seemed to enjoy his meal.
I have made up my own term for Miller's Ale House when describing it to other people: it is a "bro-bar and restaurant". Â If you gave a few post-grad fraternity brothers and sorority sisters the money to start a restaurant and bar, I think Miller's Ale House is what you would get.
The interior says, "Sports bar!" when you walk in the door. Â Lots of wood paneling and lots of flat screen TVs. Â We have never had to wait for seating and the place seems rather large (although other Yelp reviewers seem to have an issue with wait times). Â Another thing that brings us back to Miller's is the fact it is one of the ONLY places nearby that is open (excluding diners) after 10 pm on weeknights--I believe they close at midnight on weekdays and 2 am on weekends. Â Maybe the fact that we go late is why we usually don't wait?
To clarify my previous "bro bar" designation, Miller's Ale House is clean and well-maintained. Â It reminds me of college folks because it fills up on Thursdays and weekends and if you go late at night, you may run into some VERY drunk people on the side of the restaurant with the pool tables and patio. Â If you stay mainly on the restaurant side, you may not notice. Â The food is also emphasizing portion and value instead of ultimate goodness.
Other Yelp reviews have complained about the service. Â We have been about six times and only one of those visits gave us a server that I would classify as "not good". Â The last time we visited our server was actually fantastic--she spent lots of time making sure there wasn't any dairy in a few items we were curious about trying on a night where the restaurant was very busy. Â There was one occasion where they served my partner a salad we had requested without dairy (due to an allergy) that came laden with cheese, they quickly replaced it and several people (including at least two managers) came by to apologize. Â Some items on our check were also comped, and it truly felt like a fair recovery from their mistake.
There is nearly nothing on the menu if you are vegan, which is why I go here nearly solely to drink. Â The meat-eaters we have brought along with us for our visits to Miller's have seemed to enjoy their orders. Â There was a steak special of some kind on Thursdays that was particularly well-received by some of my in-laws. Â I have eaten their fries and their salads. Â These are fine, but nothing different than you might find at any diner nearby.
I do not sit at the bar because I feel that space is best left to the hardcore sports fans that populate this portion of New Jersey. Â One of the most remarkable things about Miller's is their alcoholic drink selection: it is expansive and you get a LOT for your money. Â Their on-tap beer selection is respectable--I discovered Widmer's Drifter Ale here, which is their Thursday special. Â Lots of shooter specials and mixed drink specials every night. Â Miller's is definitely trying to put the "happy"in happy hour!
In summary, there are certainly times where visiting Miller's is in order: to grab a drink, hang out, and people watch. Â If you adjust your expectations before hand, you won't be disappointed.
I work down the street and go here often for lunch. Portions are huge. The drinks are enormous- like large movie theater soft drink big- I guess they figure that they don't need to come back for refills.
Service is hit or miss- sometimes great while another time our waitress totally forgot we ordered an appetizer and had to be hunted down for the check.
Food is good and there is a large menu. I am a big fan of their salads especially the blackened chicken key lime salad. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant is huge so I never had to wait to be seated. The place does a great business and is always busy.
This is a relatively new chain restaurant. There is also one on the Boulevard in NE Philly and in other states. I am usually not a fan of chain restaurants, but for a chain and bar food, this place is good. They have large TV's and a nice bar set up in the back so I imagine it is good for watching games. I rather much be in the city, but I think it is one of the best spots in the area.
I see a raw bar on their menu and love raw oysters but have yet to see anyone order them. If anyone has feedback on the oysters, let me know.
Miller's Ale House is simply a place where they give you an excessive amount of food to make up for the lack of service and the quality of the food itself. Long wait times, untrained staff, and loud atmosphere plague Miller's, making it one of the less desirable new places to go.
A recent experience was a 45 minute wait for an order of nachos. The order of nachos was simply a bag of chips, smoothered in cheese, with toppings dumped all over it. The food was rushed and the presentation was sloppy. I could have fed 5+ people with the order if I cared to. Overall, highly disappointed and not worth the wait.
For the sports bar scene Champs and PJ's are better choices. For unique beer, take your car to Iron Hill Brewery.
Have been here several time since they've opened - a few times at the bar & once for a full dinner. This place is very convenient for me & I have returned hoping to have a better experience. I like the looks & layout of the place and it could be a good 'go to' spot..if only...
As for the bar- good luck on getting a bartender's attention- I just don't get it. Even on a Weds or Fri happy hour - the bartenders just seem to wander as if the customers don't exists - never making eye contact. Ive had this experience each time I've been to the bar- so not just an off night.
The one time I had dinner - ugh- the spinach dip was passable, but nothing special. I ordered the Apple Walnut Salad - the entire thing tasted like celery- which  was strange, since celery isn't a listed ingredient. Finally we decided to split a big piece of Choc Cake for dessert- hoping for at least something pleasant that night. Nope, the cake tasted like an inside of a refridgarator...bland and yuck
I don't expect a lot from chains, and this is one.. but.. c'mon - get it together.
Went here recently to watch a UFC fight. I had never heard of it, even though I've passed it several times and just never noticed it.
First things first, its a sports bar. It is quite large and roomy on the inside and is literally LINED with tv's. There isn't a seat in the house where you won't have a good view of a television. The inside is bright and clean and I was really kind of impressed with the appearance.
The crowd is a little bit older, which may or may not be a good thing, depending on your tastes. I noticed that it was mostly the upper 30 - lower 40 crowd but it didn't really affect me one way or the other since I was there to see that fight. I cannot stress enough just how saturated this place is with tv's. Its lousy with tvs. There have to be, like literally, 50 tvs in this place. Big tvs. Their tv budget must be through the roof. And lets be honest, at a sports bar, being able to see the game is the most important thing.
On the food and drink side of things, I was very pleased with my orders. A Model Especial on tap, a recommended beer called "Angry Orchard" and the Bistro Burger with fries. ("Stacked High with Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, Sliced Pickle, an Onion Ring & Bistro Sauce. Served on a Toasted Ciabatta Bun. $8.99") They cooked it to a perfect medium and the fries were perfectly golden.
There was plenty of parking, even when the place was PACKED. The only downside I had on my trip was the waiting to be seated situation leaves a little to be desired. They give you a slip of paper with your number on it and they have a board that lights up the numbers they are seating only at the hostess stand. If you happen to go to the bar to wait, like we did, you better keep a sharp eye because your number will come and go and you won't be reminded at all. They don't even call out the numbers. If you don't notice it, I guess you just missed it.
I will absolutely be back here, as it is head and shoulders better than all of the other sports bars in this area, that I have gone to at least.
I never knew about this place until my guy's sister told him about it. So, my guy and I went yesterday afternoon, and I'm such a fan!
We were immediately seated in a large dining room with ample seats, a huge bar, and a pool table. Within seconds, we were offered and served our beverages, and I must say, their selection of beer, while not on par with that of craft-brew pubs, certainly exceeded my expectations for a place that is considered a sports bar. Additionally, the menu offerings were plentiful and tasty AND reasonably priced. I highly recommend the warm spinach dip appetizer and the perfectly grilled chicken breast sandwich (try it with Swiss cheese and fried onions).
The wait staff were extremely polite and attentive. At no point did we have to waste time flagging down our waiter. Additionally, the manager, Rob, stopped by our table, got us some water, and asked us how things were. Of course, I told him we'll probably be regulars!
Yep, we'll sure be back. Miller's is a big happy place with cheap yummy eats and great drinks - very Lauren H.-ish.
Oh, and ladies? The bathroom is the CLEANEST public loo I've ever been in.
Ok..after my visit, met up with 2 of my girls. We sat all the way in back, noise was EVEN louder then front room. The food typical of bar food, but drinks are exceptional. That is what brings in crowds, prices are on target. My Acai Martini was $5.95, their brews were like 4.95-6.95 ..big tumblers. Couldn't beat that!!!
The crowd, Ehh..so-so. The first time I went saw lots middle age men & women trying to be 20-Something. This time, it was Unanimous, just as bad!! Really ?1 Really, its a Sports bar. The crowds pull from all of Burlington County, which isn't as Diverse as Philly. So all in all, would I go there again. Eh..maybe, but not when there is a game. It's just way Too LOUD!!
Terrible service!!!
Was seated by the hostess in about 10 minutes, but took at least 15 minutes for the waitress to get to our table. My elderly mother and I ordered grilled fish but was served the daily fish special. We asked to correct the situation, and 15 minutes later she said that she forgot to put the order in. She asked if we wanted to speak with the manager, but  (mistake) I just wanted to get out of there ASAP, I was so aggravated!
I'm sad to see so many unfavorable reviews, the staff I met with were pretty decent. I only experienced one instance where the staff was somewhat "ignoring" me while gathering around to tell tales, but it wasn't as bad as some of the other reviewers experience.
The place is really big, and very clean. (Keep in mind it just opened, so if it weren't clean, I would be concerned) There are literally TV's EVERYWHERE!! It is IMPOSSIBLE not to have whatever Sport game is on right in front of you, which is AWESOME. The drinks are COLD and the beer variety is HUGE!! The food is GOOD, FAST, and CHEAP!!!
Best thing? All Miller beers are on special, all day, everyday. Drink for CHEAP!!! and get wasted on pitchers... HOLLER!
The food is so so, the service is horrible!!!
The bartenders have zero customer service skills!! They wander around behind the bar, moving as slow as molasses, while ignoring the clientele. I literally watched two bartenders play wrestle for 5 minutes while waiting to close my tab. It's almost embarrassing how slow they are and how bad they suck. Their crappy attitudes make matters worse. I have been to some of the pretentious, trendiest bars in Philly have been served by friendlier bar tenders.
Never going back!!
This place is HUGE! Â
I loved the open air bar, though, it was pretty noisy and I was here for a lunch meeting, so we had to go indoors. Â We sat along some long high top tables, which seemed like a perfect spot to hang out with friends and enjoy some drinks.
The service was good, and our food came pretty quickly. Â I had a salad with grilled chicken that I must say was really tasty. I was impressed with the extensiveness of the menu, lots of options from greasy fried bar food to grilled salmon and fish tacos.
I would definitely come here to watch some sports, there are TVs everywhere, and also a couple pool tables. Â I could see this place as the first stop before ending the night at, say, Jay's Elbow Room.
This place is horrible. Aside from the horrible food, if you go for drinks, your better off at jays elbow room. The service at the bar is ridiculous. The so-called "bartenders" don't know what they are doing and seem only to serve people they either know or like. I waited for ten minutes every time I wanted to get a drink.. Not to mention the 20 minutes I had to wait just to pay my tab. And it's called an ale house??? How could any one say the beer selection is good.. It's all domestic drafts (bud, bud lt, miller, coors, etc...) just one craft beer and no foreign beer. Like I said, your better off at jays because millers selection is horrible.
And this may be weird to say, but the layout of the men's bathroom is just brutal. The sink and paper towel dispenser is right at the door do its tough to walk in the bathroom and even tougher to wash your hands.. There is only 3 or 4 stalls in the whole bathroom.. Given the size of the place I think the bathroom could be a little bigger.
The following actually happened during my experience at Miller's Ale House...
I was put off within 2 minutes of being inside the building. When I asked the seemingly knowledgable bartender if there were any specials for the Phillies game he first had me repeat my unfathomable question, looked at me like I had 5 heads, then finally answered both rudely and awkwardly, "uhhh no, Miller is $1.95". I'm guessing now that this is just a usual price and by the name of the establishment I should have KNOWN it would always be dirt cheap... Sorry for asking bud...
After wrangling a stool for my friend and I to share... More like stand around, I ordered a yeungling. No problems there. But as I began to acclimate myself I realized, the bar being horseshoe shaped, that EVERYONE was staring at each other around it. It was excruciatingly uncomfortable! I now know why bars are usually parallel to the wall.
As i was watching the Phillies game and trying to ignore the creepy stares everyone was exchanging, I couldn't help but overhear the odd altercation to my left. Apparently the couple had ordered 10 mild and 10 hot wings, typical bar grub. Well, when the 20 wings had all been presented as one indiscernible pile, and the couple chose to inquire as to how they would tell the difference, they received the following response, "you can't taste the difference?"... Yikes. The couple then proceeded to explain that should one bite into the hot wing when they were fishing for mild that they would have to spit it out... A difficult concept for the bartender delivering the food to comprehend. About an hour after this the couple was delivered the wrong burger AND the wrong fries... I don't think they will be back.
I picked up on a list of other negatives about this place during my short and maybe ONLY trip: if the other people around the bar looking at you don't make you feel unwelcome enough, the bartenders talking about you (the couple next to me as I witnessed) right in front of your face will. The women behind the bar were blatantly obnoxious, there, I said it. Also, the pool tables are placed right in the path to the bathrooms, the back (side?) bar is littered with underage drinking, and you may as well start fermenting your own beer after your first... You won't be asked if you would like another one. Drinks were weak.
The End.
Millers is a Florida chain and the Mount Laurel location is owned by adjoining Aloft. It is very conveniently located for me and apparently everyone else. Each time I was there including one Wed night, it was packed and tables were scarce. The place is huge with two full bars, a mixture of tall tables, dining tables and an ample patio with seating off the second bar. Flat TV's are everywhere at Millers making it a great sportsbar destination. It's hard to have a seat without a good view of the game. Behind the second bar is a lounge area with couches and stone fireplace adorned with a large flatscreen - nice touch.
Service at Millers has been spotty at best with more inexperienced help than hoped for, but the menu is very good with reasonable pricing. Beer, drink specials are seven days a week and priced similarly to happy hour specials. Food is above average.
Millers is setup to be a sports bar/restaurant, not a club for dancing or live music. As of this writing it's a trendy spot bringing out a mixed crowd of 20-somethings and older folks. Parking lot is big and on three sides, expect it to be full if you're coming out later at night. On a recent trip leaving on a Saturday night cars were literally waiting for people to walk out. Fortunately, Aloft hotel and its parking lot are separate from Millers which is an added bonus because Aloft is horrendous in most respects.
If you're not rockin' you're not livin' - JMP
Not a big fan of box restaurants but I was pleasantly surprised by Miller's Ale House.
As other Yelpers have written, the place is HUGE. There are also TV's everywhere, it is almost like being in an appliance store.
The service was good and they have a great selection of beer both on tap and in bottles and the beer prices were reasonable.
We had a bistro burger and fish tacos. Both were good and tasted fresh. For a chain restaurant, what we had was more then decent. If you have a large group, or looking for basic pub food this place is more than fine. I would go back.
Large place with so many TVs, it's almost frenetic. Large menu with a variety of options. Service was prompt and very nice. Changed the channels to put the Flyers game on (although why 60 Minutes was on in the first place is a good question). Excellent drink specials with a variety of mixed drinks and "skinny" cocktails, large beer list. Reminds me a lot of Champps but with better food. Good people watching.
My husband had been to the one in Naples and had the nastiest fish and chips ever, but did a complete 180 here with their BBQ chicken sandwich: "best I ever ate". Oriental chicken platter was just OK. Tried the fish tacos with beans and rice and the mahi fish sandwich with sweet potato fries on separate occasions and was happy with both.
Negatives: The wooden booths at the front are *very* uncomfortable to sit on. I don't know why they don't have a cushion. I find the hard plastic plates to be a little off-putting and cheap. While there is room for the pool tables, I watched a waitress almost get wiped out by a pool cue from someone who wasn't watching. Parking on a Friday or Saturday night? It's awful. The music they were playing was The Who, old southern bands, unusual selection. I guess b/c it just opened, the place isn't sure what it wants to be yet.
This place is HUGE! If you have a big group of people, this is the best place to be. The walls are covered in TVs, the menu covers everything, the drink specials are great, the servers have "flare", there are two bars, and two pool tables.
We had some wings- just okay- and sandwiches. I got the seafood fajitas and they were excellent. Everyone seemed to like their food as well. We also had pitchers of beer for cheap.
It's a chain, so expect the chain vibe, but when you're in for a no-frills dinner or want to watch a game, this place is perfect.
Let me start by saying that this place has a lot of potential. It's a huge space with two big bars, a quieter front dining area and then a back area that was louder and more akin to the bar area in many restaurants. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the portions were huge. Also, they had many cheap drink specials.
Now on to the bad... the place reminded me of your typical Applebees or TGIFridays establishments. The food was subpar. We ordered wings and spinach dip for appetizers, I had the lobster bisque and key lime salad for my meal and the table split two desserts. The wings were by far the best thing about this place. The spinach dip was nothing special (actually, the food was so average it is difficult to even describe). The lobster bisque was super thick and creamy but had no actual lobster in it and my salad came missing half its ingredients: the corn, peppers, and black beans. (Another person at our table also had a salad without most of the ingredients as well). I also ordered my dressing on the side but it came on the salad (something I didn't fuss over). The staff was super helpful in getting us the missing ingredients for our salad but when they came out in a small condiment size cup it was mostly corn, without the beans and peppers.
The desserts should've been amazing. We ordered the Capt' Jack's treasure something or other that was supposed to be a layered ice cream cake chock full of cookies and heath bar and caramel; instead, it was mostly just vanilla ice cream.
I know this post seems quite nitpicky (is that a word?) but the overall experience just left us very unimpressed. Â It's a shame though because the space is nice. The drink specials were good $10 pitchers of sangria (though we didn't try it) so I recommend this place for a happy hour maybe or to catch a few beers at night.
We were really excited that this place finally opened and we had a pretty good experience. Â Starting with the pros: Â excellent drink specials, lots of big TVs, lots of space (tables, booths, and TWO bars), good service, tons of stuff to choose from on the menu. Â Some cons: Â even though I'm pretty sure they spent like a week training, the staff looked like they were scrambling around, one of the managers was kind of grumpy to me when I asked about sitting down at a specific table, and their music just sucked! Â We were there for a long time and for the first two to three hours we were there they played back-to-back mediocre 80s music. Â Then right around nine o'clock they finally switched up the music to something tolerable. Â
We decided to start with an appetizer and then order entrees, but then the appetizer came. Â The chicken nachos are really big! Â The menu even warns you, but we didn't expect it to be that big. Â It was pretty good and filling. Â The folks with me had a cheeseburger and the chicken fajitas. Â I didn't try either but both got positive responses from the people that ordered them. Â
I thought the drinks were well-made. Â The jack and coke was just right. Â Then we asked the waitress if we could get a pitcher of the skinny margarita, and she made it happen. Â Awesome! Â
There are also a couple pool tables with adequate room around them.
