This place needs a major overhaul. The floors were dirty, the decor is sad - like they just stuck a bunch of weird, unrelated items up on the wall - but worst of all was the food. My husband's prime rib looked good, but was tough and flavorless. I got stuffed shrimp. Â The stuffing was tasteless and so was the shrimp. I couldn't even eat it. Very disappointing. I gave it 2 stars only because the salad bar was ok and they actually comped our meal - the server saw that I wasn't eating and asked what was wrong so I just was honest and said it wasn't very good. I guess it should have been a clue when we were seated immediately on a Saturday night. Â
This was disappointing because years ago we used to love their prime rib (in Edison) and we were happy to find this one close to where we are now. But you have to start with a decent quality of meat. Sad. We won't be going back. Although we were slightly entertained by trying to figure out what the junk on the wall was.
Everything was slightly less than mediocre, from ambiance to food to service. Â French onion soup was disappointing, salad bar was underwhelming and our server disappeared half way through our meal! Â My steak Au Poivre was cooked beautifully, but the Au gratin potatoes were scary, they had no flavor and were quite dry. Â I would much rather spend my $$ at Longhorn Steakhouse.
Review Source:This is *the* place to get prime rib! Man oh man is it good here. I honestly can't speak for anything other than the salad bar, french onion soup, and prime rib at Charlie Browns because it is what I had the first time I went there and have gotten the exact same thing each time I have been back. Anyway, i'm beating around the bush here... ITS GOOD. Listen, this isn't the fanciest of places, it's been worn and torn but the service and quality of food remains the same. I'm a sucker for consistency which is why Charlie Brown's will always have a place in my heart. Try try try!
