You know, it took me twenty-two years to visit the most popular diner in my hometown. But I was definitely pleased with my experience.
I ordered a chicken salad sandwich-- it contained a perfect chicken to mayo ratio and the chicken was in manageable chunks. My companion's omelet was enormous and was filled with bacon-- it looked quite unhealthy, but she seemed pleased with it.
I'll definitely have to return. Good service and good diner food=happy me.
Decided to skip the extra drive to Penn Queen and go to my neighborhood Diner since I had such a great experience last week for dinner at the adjoining Sweetwater  Cafe', the branzino fish was great. Well the empty diner was pleasant but no TV, and for what I payed 7 Bucks for at Penn Queen last week including coffee,($5.45 + Coffee) and my favorite, grits, I payed $8.77 for with NO coffee.  I think they should not charge xtra for egg whites...heck it is not like they are separating the eggs themselves... anyway won't be back for breakfast, at least during the week...I will be back to Sweetwater Cafe'
Review Source:Visited restaurant late last Saturday after long day of driving.
A real treat.
Though I'd never been there before was treated like we were the best customers they'd ever had. Lot of attention and excitement over a very fairly priced menu. I don't get that in places that cost three times the price.
Food was what you'd expect at  the price point but in every instance with a nice twist .. whether the choice of roll on the steak sandwich or salad ingredients. Nice beer selection as well.
Look forward to returning.
