i am not a club girl by any means. Â so I'm not one to attest to the DJ or the music or the drinks. i will say they get 5 stars for customer service and for being clear about the bottle service options and highly accommodating to the bachlorette party we had there.
if you are planning a bachlorette def consider mixx because they will work with you in a friendly and clear way!
I am not much of a club person but I am giving this place four stars because of how accommodating they were. I wound up here last year for my sister's bachelorette party, which I have to add was almost the death of me. Trying to plan a weekend with 18 girls and making sure that it would not cost a fortune was almost impossible.
We were staying at Harrah's so originally we were going to The Pool After Dark. That makes sense. Well, their deal was absolutely ridiculous but that's a whole other review.
The Mixx came to the rescue! All of us were able to get in for free, we had our own spacious area on the second floor, and four bottles of vodka. It only came to about $110 per person which was not bad at all, especially compared to some other clubs I looked at. The whole process was really smooth. We didn't have to wait at all to get in and paid up front so we didn't have to worry about it later.
I had a lot of fun here and the music was great.
Mixx is one of two clubs located inside Borgata. It's on the small side but I guess one should never expect Vegas-sized clubs in this city.
My partner in crime for the evening and I walked over to Mixx after seeing the ridiculous line for MurMur. To be honest, the line for Mixx wasn't that much better but we decided to go with Mixx since we were feeling lazy and didn't want to walk back over. Note to men: heels make girls lazier. Plan accordingly.
Being the ballsy and slightly cocky type once I've had a drink in me, I instantly went to the front of the line and asked the bouncer if there was any way he could please let us in. Like now. Right now. He said sure and opened up the velvet rope for us to cut the line. Then a minute or so later we arrived at the very front of the line and I heard words that were unfamiliar to my ears: "It will be $20 each ladies."
Wait, HOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLD up. I don't pay cover. I'm what you want to get INSIDE the club people. Men pay to go in and see this *points to self* and I mean that in a totally, non-stripper kind of way. Hell no. I said no thanks and immediately went back to my bouncer and asked him with a very coy smile why two cute girls were being charged to get into a club. He acted surprised and instantly took out a comp card that would give us free admission. Thank you, good sir- that's all I wanted.
So lesson ladies, you CAN get in for free. Just be persistent, not a total butter face, have a personality and treat the bouncers with respect. Oh and do not come with a group of guys. Voila, no cover.
Once inside the club around midnight it was a little empty but as the night wore on it got ridiculously packed. The ground was covered in liquid (I pray it was alcohol since I was wearing open toed shoes) and I kept getting knocked around by the aggressive dry humping happening all around me. The DJ did a pretty good job of keeping the music fresh and my crazy coworkers and I danced till 4 in the morning. At one point the club even did an actual recording of the Harlem Shake. Wow...
Overall, fun times. My review is more of a 3.5 since I ultimately compare all my club experiences to the crème de la crème in Vegas but I'll be nice today and round up since I'm stuck in Jury Duty.
This place is awful. The short, fat, bald bouncer told me my ID was fake. He then proceeded to bend it back and forth until it snapped in half. Then he had the gall to tell me that he didn't snap it! A police officer came over, and after 5 minutes of being questioned I was finally let inside. Drinks were 12 dollars and watered down. The bartender was also a douche.
Review Source:So how do  you know you are in VIP? You are with 4 other guys trying to get laid. If you are another douchebag trying to get laid do yourself and everyone a favour and stay away from this place so that normal people can enjoy the dance floor. Wait, what is there is 1 girl with a group of 8 guys? Or what if I hold a bottle in the VIP table that I just got for us and yell and jump obnoxiously? Yes, you are the shit! If you think it makes you look less desperate you are wrong. The ratio of guys to girls is one of the most disturbing I've seen in my life. Not that I cared much; but when I went to the bathroom or a bar, about 6 people hit on my gf within seconds. She is a hot girl but still... Desperation index: 11 on a 10 point scale.
There is a stereotype that this place plays electronic music. Well yes, only if you consider Will I Am and Chris Brown electronic music. But it's really just your crappy Top 40 and typical Poppy Hip Hop from a resident DJ who switches songs every 90 seconds (I absolutely cannot stand when DJs do that). FYI Techno starts about 2:30 AM.
Pros:
-Good vibe, nice layout if you want to stay at the bar in the back
-Nice decor
-Amazing lights
-Go-go dancers
-Bouncers in VIP work like a clock and don't let outsiders in so if you want your space - get the VIP table.
Cons:
-The sound is ridiculously loud for the size of the place
-The dance floor is tiny; there is no room at all
-Fat go-go dancers that are rocking it like they own the night!
I visited AC from New York to see Above and Beyond, mostly because I love Above and Beyond. Their music did not disappoint but Mixx unfortunately did. It's a shame because Borgata has my favorite Atlantic City poker room and Mixx seems to be getting a lot of great DJs, but if you are from New York of Philadelphia, Mixx is only worth going to if you're in AC anyway, and even then, don't expect much. I went with my friend and my girlfriend and we all left feeling the trip wasn't really worth it.
I will give a lot of credit to the staff because they were very friendly and courteous. Another plus is that the sound was good, though the lights, decor, and effects were nothing special. The drinks were expensive and somewhat annoyingly if you ask for water they assume you want some expensive bottle of it, but this was all expected. Unfortunately I forgot to ask if I could get points on my Borgata card so I don't know about that.
The real problem is that the place was just too small, and they made it far worse by roping off tables in the middle of the dance floor. This was a horrible idea for two reasons, the first is that there was no space. My girlfriend and I were tightly squeezed between tons of other sweaty guys (the crowd was mostly male) and could barely move. The second problem is that having tables on the dance floor totally kills the vibe of a trance show. The music is supposed to get people moving so people idly sipping on a glass while sitting on a couch right in the middle of the floor is an energy killer.
If you're in AC and interested in the generic club experience with tables and bottles, it's worth checking out, though the big cities do that experience much better anyway. And if you're like me and looking for fun parties focused on the music and high crowd energy, this isn't the place for you.
This place was fun, but incredibly crowded and hot (completely understandable since it's a club). The bar doesn't stock just cups for water, you have to buy it for $6. Only after did I realize that near the entrance is free water.
The dancers weren't that good either. They barely moved and looked spacey. Oh well.
Oh yeah, cover was $25 for everyone. Better than $30 at The Pool in Harrah's, but still...
Love it here! I have never had a bad time in Mixx. They always have amazing DJ's that play a mix of everything. It does get a bit crowded but that is to be expected. The bartenders are generous with the mixed drinks. They are a little pricey but again that is to be expected at any club really. Just pre game before hand and you'll have a great time.
Review Source:This has to be of the biggest clubs on the east coast. You're pretty much guaranteed to have a blast anytime you show up here. Dance floor is huge! Only unfortunate thing is the arm and leg you have to pay to get in here no matter who you are, lady or gentlemen; pretty or ugly. And of course, everything in the name of adult beverages is way overpriced on the inside. But this is to be expected in the Borgata (I mean come on, Atlantic City). Beyond the expensive tab, this is one of the biggest and best clubs out there!
Review Source:Recently came here to celebrate a birthday - I am not a crazy club person, so I kind of knew I wouldn't be falling in love with the place. We had what I thought was going to be a table..which actually felt more like having a box at the Wachovia Center. Â They were separated upstairs and looking down on the dance floor. This is something different than what a lot of these clubs offer, and would probably be really convenient for a bachelorette party or something with a larger group. Â It was nice to be able to carry on a conversation with my friends, but I felt kind of isolated from the rest of the scene. Â The place was packed on a Saturday summer night, which is expected. The tables lining the dance floor are a little inconvenient; I felt like I was going to trip and fall on someone..really tight space. Â But overall, good music and lots of energy.
Review Source:My friends and I had an absolute blast here. If you're in Atlantic City and craving a Vegas like experience...this is as close as you're going to get. There are trapeze performers, hot men and women go-go dancers, fog machines, confetti falling from the ceiling, and one hell of a good DJ.
Mixx is inside one of the nicest casinos in Atlantic City...Borgata. Unlike Vegas, it charges pretty ladies cover. 25 dollars per EVERY person to get in. They don't care who you are, who you know, or if you are as ridiculously good looking at Derek Zoolander. You are paying 25 dollars. My friends and I had never paid that much to get in anywhere. I explained to the doorman that this better be the most mind blowing experience of my life or I wanted my 25 dollars back to waste on the craps table.
However, it was pretty mind blowing. The dance floor was amazing. You can totally get lost in the music and with all the  craziness. I don't know how much drinks cost, but they were very strong. My rum and coke was ideal.
The crowd is much more upscale than the rest of Atlantic City. Meaning I wasn't trying to run away from all the weirdos while I was there (it's not the Tropicana). I honestly did not think I was in Atlantic City during my time at Mixx, it was just too fab. So, if you're in AC.... wait on line and pay 25 dollars.... and get ready to dance in confetti, fist pump, and raise your glass to good times!!
Decent club, beautiful hotel. A mini-mini version (1/5 size) of Vegas Cosmo's Marquee, because of the layout. There is the large sized DJ area and dancing with some bottle service on dance floor sides, and more VIP on the 2nd level. Bartenders weren't bitchy which made me pleasantly surprised. Was there for Memorial Day Weekend, so got to be pretty crowded by 2am. Â Would rate it a five if dance area was a little bigger.
Review Source:The inside of this club is immaculate. They have enough people 'working' there that's for sure but their security guards could do a little more work then standing around with their thumbs up their asses. I came here for PVD and was disappointed with the crowd and how they kept passing their phones left & right to PVD as he tried to spin, umm HELLO Security yeah nice job doing your work there dudes. Next Time I hope they book him in the events center because Mixx had alot of preppy fags. The house dj was so so he could've played more progressive house that was up to par then what he did. After awhile everyone was chanting for PVD to take stage cause clearly they were tired of the house dj. I was glad when the dancers weren't on the platforms when PVD took stage. The dancers yeah they need training big time. If you're wearing and outfit and have to keep turning from the crowd to fix it so your tits don't fly out then put on an outift that fits. Â Anyways, the crowd was 30% of who knew what they were there for and the other majority was your basic jersey shore shit.
Review Source:Pretty nice up-scale-ish club with a big emphasis on VIP service and bottle service, for those who want to be both spendy and pretentious that is for you (-: Â Saw Paul van Dyk here on a Saturday night, the place was at capacity, much of the real estate is devoted to closed off VIP bottle service areas (starts at $310 for a bottle which is for 3 people the bartender told me..) Since I am part of the lowly proletariat I was hanging at the bar drinking $7 Coronas and looking over longingly at the lifestyle of the 1% in the VIP areas until Paul van Dyk started and from then on was having so much fun I didn't care about the invention of alcoholic beverages anymore. Â The headliner DJ (PVD) played until 3:30 am and then the warmup DJ went back on, don't know if that is typical. Â apparently they very often get big name DJs on weekends. The female bartenders and VIP bottle service waitresses are gorgeous, stunningly photogenic individuals and also very efficient and diligent at their jobs. I guess the guys who work at the bar would also be considered to be good looking perhaps, I am not the right person to ask about that , but I can say the male staff also seemed very professional and efficient. Â deep within the gorgeous Borgata casino, self- parking at Borgata is $5 don't know how much valet is cuz I would never even dream of paying for that unless I experience a big change in my income bracket..
Review Source:If you're looking for a fun night out, come here!
Great for a girl's night out, but also good for co-ed groups. I went on St. Patty's Day with a large group of people (guys and girls), and was not disappointed.
$20 cover to get in, the drinks aren't watered down (like most clubs) and I loved the music which was a mix of latin, house & techno. Overall clean atmosphere, the bouncers are nice and this 2-story club can fit TONS of people!
Ughhhh, I expected so much better!
The music here is so floppy - they can't stick to one generation, genre, or language!!! Â We heard it was a good club for house music, but upon entry, there was top 40 music playing (to my delight, actually). Â So we all agreed to continue on in, since half of us wanted Top 40 anyways. Â The place was super crowded, tons of creepers, and the people.... well, meh. Â Lots of older crowd.
10 minutes later after we were sort-of enjoying ourselves, hispanic music starts blasting. Â We were like okay, maybe this isn't our kind of music but we'll try to have fun anyways. Â This continued for about 20 minutes and then the music switched back to Top 40, then to house music, then back to Top 40. Â We got sick of the crazy music changes and went to gamble. Â 2 hours later we came back and it was back to Top 40. Â And then 80's music. Â And then 90's music. Â And back and forth and back and forth and eventually we just bounced. Â You just can't dance to half the stuff they played that night, and its too much mood changing with the different music.
So not worth my $20 cover.
Nice place in a beautiful hotel. Â So many pretty people in here. Â My friends and I got pulled upstairs to go to a bachelors party. Â It was fun.
The music was good too...
They have guestlist here, search it online or contact the venue. Â We didn't guestlist that night because we couldn't find the list.
Mixx at The Borgata has gone through a remodeling recently and it now mostly caters to the VIP's.
The dancefloor is now 1/5th of the size it used to be, as it lies in the middle of the new box-shaped VIP area that is facing the DJ booth. The thinner outer part of this area by the bar is now the only place to stand so it gets real crowded at peak times. Upsairs is VIP only now too.
$20 admission on a Saturday night for us regular folks, $8 for a Bud Light, $12-14 bucks for a mixed drink.
The music here is great, the warm up DJ had moments of brilliance but also had a couple of rough patches. DJ Rashida was the featured DJ on the night i went and she kicked A$$! I had heard about her and was glad to finally see her in action, she's so good!
The lighting is great here with all the colored strobes and the go-go style dancers are phenominal.
Mixx is now an upgraded club from the past and it's still a great place to people watch and have a good time in Atlantic City. 4 stars for anyone who loves club music, bottle service is a different story.
I came to Mixx on a Saturday night and the $15 cover although a tad steep didn't seem too bad for what was there. They played good music and had a nice "mix" of different types (see what I did there?). Â The girls working there were cute. Â The drinks were strong and expensive. Â
Whatever, you pay a premium to be in a premium spot. Â Coolest part was definitely the girl on the trapeze who would lift up from the center of the dance floor and do her thing. Â I must have taken 30 pictures and videos of this. Â
Had a great time. Â Stay positive about you night and you will have a fun time here (although that could be a lot to ask when in NJ, and more specifically in a casino and down a couple of hundred dollars.) Â Minus one star for the fact that my ears didn't stop ringing until the next day.
This place was lame!!! First of all, it says "party till whenever" on the internet. I guess whenever ends at 3am.
The dance floor was crowded, it took forever to get a drink and I can't even comment on the decor because there isn't any. The music was OK but the go-go dancer or whatever she was supposed to be didn't have any good moves and she looked bored as hell. There's some upstairs area but idk what was up there nor did I care to look.
The only reason I ended up here was bc I was in town for a friend's birthday and she was bitching to go in. I don't even thing she enjoyed herself.
Save your $20 and put it in a slot machine. At least that will be more entertaining.
PS- I had more fun hanging out at B Bar.
Love this place. For some reason, whenever I go to AC or more specifically, the Borgata, I never make it to the big name club- mur.mur. Me and my friends usually start our night at mixx, and end up staying here as opposed to paying another cover and dealing with another crowd!
Came here for a Girls Weekend, which happen to overlap with the NJEA teachers' conference, as well as a rick springfield concert! haha. anyway, mixx had a ten dollar cover for ladies, and we got in there around midnight. The crowd was a mixed group of people- older women, which I want to say went ot hte concert, as well as people our age, and maybe a little younger (i'm in my late 20s). It wasn't crowded by any means, but still enough people you could get playfull lost in. Me and my friends happen to find a group of guys who weren't complete douches and danced the night away. I can't say how much drinks were since i didn't pay them, but i do remember helping my new mate count out at least 20 for two shots.
Same weekend, went to Providence at the Trop (see review), then bailed and headed over back to the borgata- back to mixx. The cover for saturday night was 20, and there was more of a line, and the crowd was different than the night before, but definitely just as fun the second time around. The dj they had that night- jesse marco- ripped it up.
I'm so hesitant to go to other places when I party in AC since it's not a usual thing. I guess I will have to check out some other places, but at least i know mixx will be waiting there for me!
Partying in AC is a right of passage. Although it's only a 2/3 hour drive from the city, depending on traffic, it feels worlds away. You can see the Jersey shore types in their natural habitat and it is pretty entertaining. The Borgata is the only "nice" place to stay in AC in my opinion so due to the fact we stay there a lot of the time we end up just partying there.
Mixx is the more clubby venue here. The music is usually decent ad they usually have a guest DJ or another celebrity guest on weekends especially in Summer. The line is bananas so gather up your cutest girls and sweet talk the bouncer so you can dance the night away and avoid the sketchballs trying to creep on you before going back to gambling and eating and 4:30am.
Mixx nightclub is in the heart of the Borgata Hotel, Casino, and Spa. Â
I went for a bachelorette party and it was FUN. Â The music was mixed with hip hop, pop, rap and everyone was having a good time. Â I have no complaints about the music because I like to get low. Â HOWEVER, whoa skeeze ball alert. Â There are bunch of old gentlemen by themselves who just like to stand around spotting women to dance with. It is kind of gross and unappealing, but that usually happens in a lot of nightclubs but since this is a Borgata housed nightclub, there is a high turn out of losers. Â Â
The drinks are pricey about $14 for a redbull and vodka. Â The good thing is there is no cover charge if you get there early. Â Â
There are go-go dancers who look like they are having a miserable time next to the drunkards. Â The men are not allowed to touch them and the ladies do not look too impressed.
I saw Dave Navarro and DJ Scribble spin and it was pretty amazing. Â Dave actually looks hot in person. Â I met DJ Scribble because my friends and I got to dance at the VIP section. Â I have pictures to prove it! Â We left at about 2am when the lights started to turn on, but it was a night of fun. Â I would definitely recommend Mixx for a ladies night out.
They kept us on line for too long, we were buying 4 bottles, and they knew this. Besides that it was good. Ke$ha showed up and started to sing. i had no clue she was gonna be there, but it was a nice surprise. and after that Jermaine dupri was there djing. that was also a nice surprise but that guy should stick to what every else he does, because he can not DJ.
Review Source:One of your best choices for a night club in AC. Parking is cheap and easy inside the Borgata parking garage, the women are delicious, and the douches are the same where ever you go. The good music and ambiance is entertaining, and the drunken swarms of women and dancing eye candy is a plus. Cover is steep, but the place is still better than most of your other alternatives.
Review Source:drinks someone spilled and beer bottles on the dance floor. It's dance floor, remember? You don't wanna fall down while dancing and pass out!!
$20 cover fee? alright. The DJ was great, and it was really crowded on Saturday night. The dancers on the bar table were entertaining. Crazy drunk girls dancing, alright. Guys trying to hook up with them? Wow. such a competition! lol
Would I ever come back? maybe if I come back to AC.
Celebrating a friend's birthday at club Mixx in the Borgata turned out to be a good experience. We were coming from Philly and parked at the Borgata for an amazing $5. We were expecting something like $25.
Mixx charges a $20 cover charge. We got there a little before they opened at 10:00. The first thing I noticed is that there is no place to sit. No stools at the bar and all the surrounding sofas were all reserved. The second floor was reserved as well. I immediately thought of the heels I was wearing and was thankful for the flats I stuffed into my purse :D
It didn't take long at all for the party to get started. The DJ (DJ DL I believe) played a good variety of music. We felt he sometimes ended the songs too soon and didn't transition smoothly into the next song. Around 1a.m it started to get too crowded. There was a lot of bumping and pushing and around 1:30 we decided it was time to go.
The drinks are expensive here but you can't expect much else. You are in the Borgata. A Malibu Bay Breeze will run you $9. This is maybe a $2 drink in Philly.
I'd recommend club Mixx. Next time I'll definitely try to get one of those seating areas.
I was at Mixx on Saturday because my friends wanted to see Kid Cudi, he made an appearance there. Â It was average at best. Â I waited on line for a good amount of time (I was by myself, I was in my room getting ready and my friends were already inside) paid $20 cover (understandable) and got into the club. Â The club was pretty empty (given that I've waited upwards of 30 minutes, like are you kidding me). Â Kid Cudi was alright, couldn't dance to the music for it wasn't dancing music! Â He played "Shots" which was weird, that isn't your song as far as I'm aware of. Â But the club was so empty I made my way to the stage without so much as a shove. Â Had a drink, not really a good night I'm guessing? Â The crowd was meh...we got the normal 20-something crowd just hanging out...then we have the older people in their 30's-40's just having a good time, although looking slightly out of place...THEN we have the nasty 40 year olds very inappropriately grinding on random men that give off a look of incredulousness "Is this *explicative* serious?"...but hey I don't judge. Â Also, you have your fair share of d-bags. Â There was this guy grinding with his horse-faced girlfriend while purposely shoving me while doing so, like I mentioned before the club was basically empty so there was no need, so being the classy young lady that I am I shove back and him being the d-bag he is couldn't have possibly imagined someone not taking that crap. Â Oh and did I mention I was standing a good foot away from this d-bag and he manages to come into contact with me? Â Ah, I'm digressing too much. Â I suppose if it's a last resort you should go here, I should have gone to Mur.Mur (I've had good times there) but after paying $20 for cover once, there was little chance I'd go anywhere else. Â I literally spent more time on line than in the actual club. Â So what to do? Â Upside was that I had a room at the WC and my other friends at the Borgata, so we partied up there and it was 10x more fun. Â So unless you want to give the Borgata an extra $20 for cover, please coordinate a party in your hotel room, I guarantee it will be a better experience.
Review Source:Mixx's ambiance makes for a decent party, but it's small. It has two floors, but much of the second is reserved VIP seating. You'll get hot, so check your coats at the front lobby - or leave them in your car or hotel room.
When we walked in around midnight[1], the party was in full swing. Above the dance floor, an elaborate hydraulic lighting system with an impressive rack of lights moved above the dancers, providing plenty of visual pyrotechnics. DJs kept everyone entertained, and didn't spin 80's hits all night long. Bartenderesses wore tastefully vampy outfits, and all were quite friendly. Be aggressive when ordering, or you'll have to wait awhile to get served. Drinks are expensive - should be no surprise - so pregaming is advisable. No time to pregame? Try their lychee drink.
Worth a visit, especially if you can avoid cover. Thanks to the Borgata for providing comp passes.
[1] Not all of us, not right away. Security thought my friend was drunk (she wasn't), so they had her cycle through the line several times before letting her in. Demerit for Mixx.
We arrived here at 11pm and it was packing out very fast, we waited on line for about 15 minutes which was not too bad.
Upon entry I thought I was in a city club with the size of the floor and height of the ceilings.
Service at the bar was quick. Â Unlike what Jade said my drinks were pretty good, just a bit pricey.
Music was ok. Â The DJ changed it up frequently from 80's, 90's and current. Â He did mix the tracks well.
Final words...I came here on a Saturday night and the cover was 20 for guys and girls. Â I think they should at least make the cover free for girls. Â If they do that at least there will be more girls there than guys.
Cost: 20 women, 25 men... Bottle service is 50
Music: Mixx of 80's to today... like a pumped up contemporary music channel.
Crowd: Old and Young. More old than young. There was even this lady in a wheel chair enjoying herself on the side, dancing in her seat. I like that.
Space: Beautiful like the rest of Borgata and a very ample dance floor. I'm from NYC and so I really was surprised about the dance floor.
Drinks: Awful. I had the bottle service and the worst liquor was served to me, but I drank it.
In the end, everyone is there to have a fun time dancing and I danced a lot with my group of friends. Some boys were dissappointed that they couldn't pick any of us girls up. Too bad. We're all spoken for in one way or another. Ah, to paraphrase Danny Glover, "I'm too old for this shtuff."
Put the needle on the record.
No really, put the needle on the record, dj.
Because the sound beat should NOT go like this.
This is allegedly the hottest club in AC. Now, I know I'm spoiled by LA clubs, but I can still appreciate what's good and considered "hot" in other cities. No matter how you slice it, this just doesn't mix. Â Picture this - a virtually empty room playing '90s music on a Friday night. It is so awkward - people just standing around like obligated faculty staff at the beginning of a lame high school dance. Granted, we arrived "early" (close to 11pm) and left after a few minutes. Â Perhaps, it was an off night, but there are much better nightspots within the Borgata. Â (See other Borgata reviews to come.)
Hopefully, they can re-invent themselves soon and come back as Remix. Until then, all I hear is uh Ficky ficky slam- this place is wiggity wiggity wack.
Cover - We (4 girls) got in for free, but I think there might be a $20 cover?
I've only been here once...and for my bachelors party...so I don't really know how much it cost.
We had table service next to the DJ on the main floor. Music was quite loud and had to stuff some tissue into my ears (but that's not unusual for me to do). My brother said his ears were still ringing the next morning.
Anyway music was okay. I ONLY listen to electronica, and there were a few songs that you could categorize as that...so I was happy. At no point did I think, this music sucks...but then again with a 2 bottle minimum I probably wasn't paying too much attention to the music and way more attention to the sea full of women on the dance floor...many of them their for their bachelorette parties.
It also helped that my brother was accosting every group of ladies on the dance floor and telling them it was my bachelors party....to which they all (except one group of ladies) happily obliged by bumping and grinding on me. I was quite shocked and thought to myself...damn I should have used this excuse before.
There must have been at least half a dozen bachelorettes and their entorage of beautiful single ladies. Oh...the only thing I did notice was that there weren't many asians there. I guess they were all too busy gambling at the tables instead.
I'd definitely want to come back here.
It's weird, Mixx is similar to the iPhone when it first came out. Â It was the biggest thing for folks looking for its features and only became dwarfed when the iPhone 3G (in this case Mur Mur) made its debut with an efficient and less pricey option. Â In a way Mixx is still a convenient backup compared to all of the other dreggy places in AC and on its own is still a lot of fun.
I wouldn't place it above Mur Mur given that its older and less spacious, but sometimes people aren't always looking for the newest thing. Â Mixx on its own is a great club that plays good music, has an adequate dance floor, and a fairly diverse crowd of youngins and oldies. Â One who isn't familiar with the nightlife in AC wouldn't be able to notice how new this place is or not, as it is consistent with the poshness that is the Borgata decor.
Score Mixx passes at any of the bars or shows at the Music Box. Â If paying a cover is necessary, just save that money and go with Mur Mur.
Fun club at the Borgota Casino. Â Mixed age groups so don't worry about it being to young/old, it has a nice balance. Â I visited Mixx again this weekend with a group of friends, a couple of them complained that they played to much techno and wanted to try another place. Â I thought it was ok and balanced but then again I also like techno so I probably didn't notice as much.
