I like Jim N Nicks and Dreamlands better.. way better.

Mediocre flavor and meager servings for the meat and sides. This biggest factor in this rating is the serving size.
Not a big fan of the sides either.. baked beans, cole slaw, etc. I usually like it, but it was just too plain tasting to me.

I thought Moe's was pretty good.  Clearly there are TONS of BBQ places in Birmingham but this is the only one I've made it to thus far.  I'll continue my quest in finding good...no GREAT bbq here in the "Ham".

Now I must say...I cheated a little bit on this.  I didn't actually get bbq.  I got the smoked wings (I was craving them once I saw them on the menu).  Sooo I technically didn't have their "bbq" yet.

The wings however were pretty good.  Very meaty, great flavor.  My only negative was that I didn't actually get any "smoked" flavor to them.  They tasted more like hot wings.  Still tasty...just not smoked.

The server suggested I try the collards, which I am usually extremely hesistant about but I tried them anywayz.  They were actually pretty good.  The cornbread that came along with my meal really compliment the greens well.

The mac n cheese....I'll pass on next time.  I've found it hard to find a really good southern, cheesy mac and cheese at restaurants.  This one was blah.  Dry and not enough cheese.

My meal wasn't expensive though. 10 wings, 2 sides and a drink for about $10. Not bad.  Leave it me to return home to ATL to discover they have a location there as well.  I will return...next time...I'll try the bbq.

The BBQ is top notch. Th food is prepared on site. There are some menu items that may be overlooked in this dandy BBQ joint. The wings are the very best I have ever had. They fall off of the bone and melt in your mouth. Smoked wings are the only way to go. The BBQ chicken sandwich is a treat. Your mouth is hosting a party and you better invite the chicken sandwich. My favorite "change up" is the Fried shrimp sandwich. Ahh Lawd! It is soooo delicious that I'm not going to 'splain it because it can't be 'splained. Just do it. You can thank me later. The only way to compliment these delicious items is with Moe's homemade sides. Greens, sweet potato casserole, squash casserole, butter beans, and of course your cole slaw and baked beans and mac n' cheese. The sides that are offered change every day or so. All is prepared in their kitchen and fresher than Will Smith. The home made desserts will actually make you cry a little bit. They offer cold beer too. Picnic tables and decent size TV on the wall. Note: fried shrimp sandy with squash casserole and collard greens washed down with an Arnold Palmer is a home freakin' run! Go now!
