Moving from NYC , I was looking for a great irish pub to call home. Mollys has been my home for 11 years now and I am never moving out!

I have been going to Molly's for years now and consider it to be my home bar.  I love beer on tap, and Molly's is the place for a great selection with a nice rotation on seasonal and specialty brews.  The sandwiches and nachos are a must if your looking to eat.  I don't smoke often and so the non smoking on the inside is great but the large patio is a very nice place to grab the occasional cigar with the cigar club on Tuesdays.  The staff doesn't turnover much so you really get to know everyone and they always treat you like family when you walk in.  I love playing in their Pub-Olympics event a couple of times a year and the weekly free poker players have become a very tight knit group of friends.  Molly's is and always will be my home away from home when I'm looking for good times with people I enjoy spending time with.

Not a bad place at all to catch a game, or chill at the bar.  A pretty typical Molly's, but way better than most the other chain crap that is found in Kingwood.  A long central bar, wood everywhere, plenty of TV's.  There is a game room in the back with pool tables and shuffle board.  A semi decent tap list.  Some Saint Arnold and a few other micros on tap.  The service can be hit or miss.  Though usually friendly.  The food is...ok.  Nothing more.  Some sandwiches that are not bad at all, then some nasty frozen pizzas.  A decent place for a drink, much better than the generic franchise crap that is found up and down 59 in the area.

I'm going to start this review by acknowledging that we may have just encountered the worst possible bartender on a really bad night.  My friends and I live in Houston, Stafford and Sugar Land.  We went to Kingwood for a wedding which ended a little early.  A number of us were staying in hotels in Kingwood, expecting a fun, long night and decided to go to Molly's to continue our little soiree.

Boy.  Was that a mistake.  I'll begin by giving credit to the gentleman at the door.  He checked our ids and was actually quite pleasant.  He did not give us any kind of sass or lip or trouble.

We approached the bar to get a round of drinks, to which a very surly bartender refused to give us service.  I know what you're thinking.  We were a bunch of drunk hooligans and you agree with the bartender - it's bad to continue giving alcohol to the already-drunk.  Yet, I ask that you continue to read.  We arrived at this establishment around 11:30pm.  Most of us were not driving.  Most of us had last had a drink at about 9:00pm, shortly before the bar at the wedding was closed.  The bartender was refusing to give drinks to a group of roughly 10 people because "one of you looks like he's had too much".  While I agree that you shouldn't give alcohol to that one individual (who wasn't even drunk, I still can't figure out this judgment call), you should not deny service to about 9 paying customers.

We tried to talk to him about this, but he wouldn't back down.  It's worth noting that other bartenders disagreed with him, but apparently since he made that call, none of them could change it.

We ended up going elsewhere - and happily.  The place didn't look that great anyway.

Molly's is a rather hit or miss kind of pub.  Its one of the only pubs in Kingwood, so us Kingwoodinites come here primarily out of conveniece.
Its a very mixed crowd here, it ranges from local youngins like myself and goes up in to stuffy old business men who just drove in from the city. Although, when you get a few beers in the geezers they start to say baffling things. I was highly offended one time while sitting out on the patio a man was loudly using the "n" word. That man should have undergone water torcher for such language.
HEADS UP, this is considered Montgomery County and they will have to register you with the bar in order to serve you.  Once you are a "member" they can scan your ID when you enter the pub to verify your membership.
They have a nice size  indoor/outdoor area. Lots of seating and the option to play darts in and out. I like the Itunes jukebox but its kinda expensive and there is no filler music for when everyones pockets are tapped.
Its not my go to bar but if you live in the area, you can go ahead and motion for one more to the bartender cause your not driving too far from home.

Standard pool hall/ bar atmosphere. I tend to go here when I with friends in Kingwood. Last time I was here the manager put on the Iowa Caucuses results on and we watched them together with a Lone Star College-Kingwood professor over a few pitchers.

Molly's Pub.... What can I say?

If you graduated from Kingwood High in the past 15 years, you will probably see someone you know at this Kingwood establishment. It may not be someone you would like to see, but that's besides the point.

It still reeks of cigarette smoke despite the fact that you have not been able to smoke indoors for a while now, the draft beer selection can be described as inadequate, and there is the possibility of seeing a classy Montgomery County citizen with false breasts the size volleyballs if you time it correctly. How else are you going to spend your Kingwood night?

You are probably going to have a good time at Molly's.

    Enjoy!

We have been going to Molly's on Sundays to watch football. The service is fast, friendly and everyone in the bar is friendly as well. It is a nice place to sit, relax and drink some beer. The sandwiches were good, and definitely worth the price. Very affordable you get a sandwich, chips and pickle for $5.40. They have a large outdoors area with TV's as well.

I'm bumping this up a star since Lori C informed me Molly's Pub doesn't allow smoking indoors anymore:

"Molly's has been smoke-free (except the outdoor patio) for well over a year now. Just an FYI."

I don't remember them having an outdoor patio, but maybe that changed too.

Molly's is the quintessential dive bar.

It's also not quite my scene. Don't get me wrong--I've been to my share of dive bars (hello--I lived in Queens!) Sure, the beer selection isn't bad, there's pool and air hockey, and you'll get some interesting stories if you can get one of the gruff regulars to chat with you, but ugh...the place just reeks. Honestly, it smells like feet.

When I go, I almost always have to park myself outside on the narrow patio just to escape the smell. While you may think a patio would offer some aesthetic sensibility, in this case, you get the side of a red brick building. Lovely. And don't even think about ordering food. It's all greasy and if you're lucky, you'll walk away with only a mild case of acid reflux. Moreover, the service is rather spotty if you do go outside. We only saw our server twice the entire two hours we were there last.

Molly's certainly shows that there's a gruffer side to Kingwood's usually polished, uppercrust exterior. And if you can tolerate the smell, then it's a great place to catch a game. But as far as dive bars go, this place is just a dumpster.

I used to visit this Molly's location weekly to get my beer & trivia/Texas Hold 'em fix when I lived in the area but the last time I came here I was severely disappointed. My mom, brother, his girlfriend, and I came here after dinner recently to celebrate the gf's 22nd birthday. We had some drinks at dinner and felt like playing some darts and having a few more.

The place just felt old and dirty. The old and dirty feeling was further felt when my mom ordered a ZiegenBock draught that tasted exactly like mold. Mold beer wasn't really what we were feelin' so we all switched to bottled beer to avoid anymore run-ins with old moldy kegs and taps.

I gave my bartender my DL in exchange for darts. She gave us two sets but one set was broken and they didn't have any more. She said that we could switch them out when someone else turned their darts in but since we didn't see anyone else in the whole bar playing darts, we didn't get our hopes up. Instead we used the one set for both teams.

The bartenders weren't stellar and there was zero table service. That along with the moldy beer and broken darts makes for a pretty crappy night. We had fun anyway, but I won't be back any time soon. Seriously, moldy beer? Get your act together Molly's!

Molly's is a comfortable place to go after work and throw darts or shoot pool. I have never been there Friday or Saturday nights and not into the pick up scene. As far as being smoky, no I think smoking is only on the outdoor deck on the side...not indoor. Great beer selection and mixed drinks. Not a wine bar though. Wine selection is poor.

Dive? Yes, DIVE. They even have railroad tracks across the street. A dark atmosphere with cheap prices and a flirty barmaid makes for too much to drink. I also like the people here - just your regular subdivision Joe with a penchant for beer. I've met a lot of good, smart folks here and was surprised at the networking I've subsequently and inadvertently done.

So if you find yourself on the far Northeast side of Houston - this place is worth a few rounds of your time.

good cheap beer, cheap drinks, decent tvs for watching sports and pool and shuffelboard tables. The outside is a decent addition, but don't expect much from this suburbia bar. Regardless, a decent place to drown your sorrows, run into old acquaintances, and most people are friendly.

All three stars are for the beer selection, the pool, and the shuffleboard, the selection of food is not anything special, but the beer makes up for it.  The best part is they have my ACE Pear cider on draft, how many bars have that?  I like the atmosphere, and it is a good place to go after work.  If you are looking for a fancy meal and a nice bottle of Pinot Noir, probably not your place.

You typical sports bar/pub in suburbia.  I don't frequent it as much as I used to, but Molly's is a good place to grab a brew, shoot some pool and catch the nightly game.  Molly's seems to have a little more character than the typical suburban sports bar.  A number of good beers on tap and the bartender's are always friendly.
