We started with the fried pickles. The batter has cayenne pepper in it making them very spicy. My husband could eat them but I could not. I wanted to order the beer can chicken but asked first about the spice & yes, it has cayenne pepper in it. I ordered the streak & shrimp after asking if it had the cayenne pepper & was told it does not. Yea! My husband ordered the "nasty" burger minus the hot sauce. He also ordered a 32 oz. Guinness. I asked for hot tea but they don't carry it so I got water. I also ordered the house salad instead of a potato with my meal.
The steak was good and so was the salad. The shrimp was very good but the cocktail sauce was too spicy for me. However, I knew how to make it milder and this worked great. Â My husband said his burger was good but not as good as Thurman's or Johnny's.
The staff was great and were very willing to accommodate us. Â I think I will go back when I am in the mood for wings, as they did sound good.
I would also enjoy going there to watch football games as they have plenty of TVs.
Someone said they only have tall tables in a previous review but this is not true. They have 2 4-seater tables that are regular height.
Overall, not bad for mostly deep-fried foods.
A lot better than you'd expect of a bar in a gas station parking lot in Hilliard. Â You can get a 32 ounce Victory Golden Monkey at a reasonable price. Â Need I say more? Â A solid beer selection here exceeds expectations. Â The food is okay--it's deep-fried grease, which isn't a big surprise. Â Don't go here if you're on a diet, but if you're looking for tasty fried food, they do a good job. Â Lots of TVs make this a good place to go on game day. Â The atmosphere is a little stripmally...since it is in a stripmall, but they do the best they can with the space they have. Â I wouldn't make a special trip here if you're not already on the West side of town, but if you're in the Hilliard area, it's worth checking out.
Review Source:We live very close to this sports bar and kept meaning to go in and try it. We finally had the opportunity last week and we were really glad we went in!
Tons of big screen TVs for game-viewing (keeps husband happy), and tons of great food options (keeps wife happy). I appreciate the healthier options like wraps and salads.
Between everyone in our group, we tried the potato skins (awesome), the chicken salad wrap (amazing), the grilled chicken salad (hearty), and the waffle fries (heaven).
Service was great, prices were reasonable.
We will definitely go back!
Every table in this place is up high so it's not ideal for small children. Â It took forever before we got any service. The spinach dip had such a tiny portion that I could have eaten it in two bites. Â Don't waste your money on it. Â I ordered a burger that was basic and said it came with their signature sauce. Â Beware, their sauce is spicy. Â It's a good thing I can tolerate spicy because it was clearly a tobasco based sauce and they drenched the burger in it. Â Good, but spicy. Â Once we got service, it remained decent. I have no desire to go back any time soon.
Review Source:I really like this place. Close to home, the beer list is amazing, SO many to choose from. Â Nasty's has drink specials and has slowly become one of my favorite places to go on Friday night. Â TV's EVERYWHERE and sports gear abounds. Â I like this place because it isn't a chain but has the same dining amenities that chains do. Have only had one "average" experience with service as the waitresses are really friendly and attentive even when it is really busy. Great burgers and sandwiches, yummy fries. Â It's funny, a lot of my friends said this place wouldn't last 6 months because of its location, because it is next to a gas station and is sort of in-between an industrial area and a residential neighborhood...and an empty lot. Doesn't seem to make a difference for the weekend, it has always been pretty busy when we go. Â Owners seem like nice guys and tend to walk around the tables and make sure everyone is happy. Â If I had one suggestion for them it would be to start Karaoke later on Fridays because it gets LOUD and a little obnoxious, especially when people decide to sing "Barbie Girl" or some crap like that. Although that isn't really the fault of the restaurant (it's the drunk singers) it has caused me to cut out of there earlier than I might have if the karaoke wasn't going on. Â Other than that Nasty's is becoming a "go-to" which is a pretty good thing to be for any restaurant! :)
Review Source:This was my first time here after reading about them on Columbus Underground. I have to say that so far I am impressed.
First of all, the atmosphere is really nice. The bar is located next to a gas station and a doughnut shoppe so maybe the scenery isn't that great. The inside, however, is very nice. HUGE TVs, very nice bar, everything looks new and clean. Heck, there is even a TV in the bathroom so you don't miss a minute of the game!
Next I will speak about the beer selection, which is very very good. Given the location which is basically in the middle of nowhere, I was happy to find a variety of craft beers. The best part is... Get this: when I ordered a draft GLBC Lake Erie Monster, they asked me if I wanted a 16, 24 or 32oz beer. OMG 32oz of Lake Erie Monster, I think I am in love! Or maybe it is the beer talking. Probably both. They had some good bottle selections as well, including some 22oz bombers.
I tried a couple of mozzarella sticks that my friend ordered and they were very good. The sticks were hot and fresh, and the marinara sauce was tasty. The menu looks good so I will be back to try it.
The service was friendly and the barkeep took good care of us. She was all smiles. I will be back!
Great atmosphere, great TVs, good bar food and probably one of the better beer lists I have seen at a sports bar. Had a Chimay Red, Troegs Nugget Nectar, and Stone Arrogant Bastard. Beer tubes are pretty cool too. Will be back.
PS, free wifi means my fantasy football league shall be drafting here.
