RTERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!  Ordered online through restaurants website assuming it was a normal process, after an hour and a half, the order had not arrived. Upon calling restaurant, we were informed that we should have called because online ordering didn't work. The employee offered no apology, just asked us if we wanted to order now and was extremely rude insisting we were in the wrong for using their website to order instead of calling. Needless to say, I would never recommend this restaurant

Neither dish I've experienced here were very good.  Both were very sweet sauces and bland; tasted like frozen dishes.  I asked for some heat and got very little.  Service was friendly so I'll give a couple stars, but I won't be back!

This place is ok, at best.  We love Schueng Chang (on U of M campus) but didn't feel like driving tonight.  We decided to give the New China Wok a try.  I usually think that delivery Chinese is sub-par (at best).  We ordered Hunan Beef and Szechuan Chicken for our main courses.  Both dishes were way to spicy to be considered eatable.  To say that we love spicy food is an understatement.  We also ordered the fried rice and asked for it to be spicy.  My friends make fun of me because they think I have tried every Asian food place in the state... and I ALWAYS order my fried rice spicy and I have NEVER tasted anything like this.  I took one bite and broke out in a full sweat.  We both tried mixing it with white rice, but that didn't work.  Lastly, we ordered egg rolls.  They were bready and flavorless.  We had to stop eating after only a few bites and we threw away $40 worth of Chinese............  totally disappointed.  That being said I will try it again and ask for things less spicy.  Delivery sucked.  35 minutes?  Pffffffttttt..... over an hour and I live 6 blocks from the joint.

New China Wok was my favorite delivery place when I lived in Linden Hills. They always got my order right, they always included sweet and sour sauce for my egg rolls or cream cheese wontons, and I always got my food within 30 minutes of calling it in (and it was hot).

    1. Sweet & Sour Shrimp. I always enjoyed this dish - the batter they use is so crispy and delicious. The quality of the shrimp is much better than you'd expect from a "fast food" Chinese place.
    2. Chicken Wings. The boy ordered the wings every time - he loves them and he's a wing connoisseur. He's still a little bitter that we haven't found a new Chinese delivery place that delivers on the wings like New China Wok does.
    3. Cream Cheese Wontons. Mmmm. That's all I have to say.
    4. Hot and Sour Soup. Consistently spicy with a lot of vegetables and tofu.
    5. Sesame Chicken. My second favorite entree - crispy, tangy, and the chicken was tender.
    6. The Doughnuts. The boy wanted to make sure I mentioned how sweet and gooey the doughnuts are...they kind of remind me of something you'd find at the State Fair.

I miss this place - I'll have to swing by again soon.

We went there last night and it was not a pleasant experience.  Poor quality of food and service.  After reading the story about their violations, I wish we would not have tried it.

10/07/2012 update:  The owners somehow managed to work out a deal with Minneapolis to stay open.  They are now blaming other tenants in the building for the mice and mice dirt.  I still stand by my initial stance: I will never eat there again.

I want to give this place 4 stars but really can't since they've delivered a wrong meal. This was my only experience but even though I got something that I didn't order the food was very good and "light" - something that could be difficult to find in your typical geese laden Chinese food.  It's also very nice to have so,etching like this on the strip of upscale shops and restaurants that is simple, tasty, cheap, and available for delivery for those days when it's really cold outside and you don't want to walk.  Definitely give this place a try.

1 star for being the only delivery place besides Davanni's in Edina. The food... I got eggrolls, cream cheese wontons, bbq spare ribs, and egg drop soup. Pretty much everything was gross. The soup was okay. The spare ribs... they had a weird taste to them and really fatty. The wontons. There's cream cheese alright. Just cream cheese. The eggrolls were soggy by the time they got to me. They told me 35 minutes and it was over an hour. That's a long time for a pregnant girl! They also didn't give me any soy sauce. Yuck.

I'm torn ( and i swear i wrote a review over a year ago) but guess not.

This is usually our GO-TO place for Chinese Delivery.  The shrimp are excellent, no fishy flavor, big and tender.  Beef and Pork dishes are also very tender with lots and lots of vegetables.  The egg rolls are totally crappy and the cream cheese won tons are average.  The pot stickers are really bad, just flavorless and doughy.  But again all main dishes are really quite good!!!

My boyfriend and I have enjoyed food from here for over a year, and then they added Bubble or Boba tea and sushi to the menu.  So we thought sure-why not.  And yes we did think twice about ordering sushi from a delivery place, but we are also the type of people who enjoy Lund's sushi for quick dinners.  Back to topic, it was terrible!  Really Really fishy and totally not fresh.  Major Ick.  We tossed $15 worth of sushi crap and got back to our beef and broccoli.  And i tried to get a boba tea but they were out, and from Alex X's review i guess i'm glad of that.

They do take their dear sweet time getting you your food.  Every time we call for delivery they say 45min, which turns into an hour.  We live within a half mile from the place.  :(

So in summary;  Order any main dish and it will be good fresh food, any sides, drinks, or apps you should skip it.

Walking by, I saw the handmade sign for bubble tea.  Excited, I went in to try the new goods.  I ordered the jasmine bubble tea.  Eww is all I have to say.  I'm pretty sure they go heavy on some powder here.  I haven't tried the food though.

Best General Zhao's Chicken. Enough said!!

Well, it is the freshest chicken with the best sauce.  Get the combo and it comes with fried rice and a egg roll!  Great Deal!

When I first moved in a couple of blocks away almost 3 years ago, I would have given this place 2 stars.  It was "cheap Chinese food", but not very good cheap food.

They have tweaked their recipies and lately their food has been tasting better and better.  There are still things they don't do well (fried rice) and some things come over as a little extra salty, but the entrees have upscaled considerably and are now pretty darn tasty.

This is a solid, American-style Chinese restaurant. As such, I give it 4 stars.

Reliable Chinese, featuring all the dishes you are familiar with.

Majority of business is take out, but there is a small dining room. Delivery has always been reliable for us. No liquor license.

Favorite dishes: General Tso's is made with all white meat chicken, and is of the non mystery/rodent variety. Dumplings are standard fare. Lo mein less greasy than most.

It's not going to change your life, but when it's 5:30 and you don't want to cook, call the Wok.
