First, I love Metropolis coffee so I will ALWAYS test out a place that serves it, and Nitecap does. Â I love this new cafe in a neighborhood that really needs a relaxed, non-chain, coffee house. Â The new cafe, and i mean new (still getting signage up), has exposed brick, a piano, relaxed seating--couch and chairs and tables, and some cool furniture pieces for that at-home feeling. Â The coffee--what can I say..it's Metropolis and the baristas were careful to make a GREAT latte and not just schlepping milk into a bitter shot of espresso. Â
after a friend who lives in pilsen area mentioned this place had just opened, i stopped in after a swimming class i had in the city. Â My friend had some tea, a pork loin sandwich (panini) and a ginger cookie. Â I had a latte, the plantain/peanut butter/guava jam sandwich (panini) and a ginger cookie as well. Â The bread was delicious, sandwiches were warm and toasty with fresh ingredients. Â the cookie was just sweet enough to hit the spot. Â They also had some awesome-looking bakery items, which I know I will be back for.
Service was great. Â We met the owner, aaron, who seemed excited and nervous as this was their first week but I was pleased with the pricing, food, service and atmosphere. Â Definitely worth the stop in that neighborhood when you need a break from the taqueria scene
