There's not much new I can say but I enjoyed my dinner.  The pizza was delicious.  The beer was cold.  My server was nice.  And my chair was on top of an AC vent.  Being a big boy I didn't sweat it (haha) but some folks might.     I liked the casual old house atmosphere.  If I'd known about the tables out back I'd have been there.  I will next time.   I paid $24 for a tall Alaskan amber and a medium supreme thin crust (called the "maverick")   plus a tip.  There's a pic of it in the photos.
Prices are higher than some but not unusual nowadays for a delicious handmade pizza. (Unlike places like UNO that pass off freezer pizza as fresh.  I know this because I got one that wasn't fully cooked once).    I'll definitely be back to Old School P&S.

Finally had a chance to try it out. Went in late lunch hour around 1 pm or so on a weekday. Wanted to try the pizza, but also wanted to check out what kind of draft beer they had. Grab a seat where you want, first nice item, they have Revolver Blood and Honey, my current beer obsession, and it's the cheapest I've seen it anywhere, at $4.50 a pint, that's a $1 cheaper than anywhere else I've gotten it.

Decided to get the 12" Carnivore pizza, had a good deal of meat options of course. Pepperoni, bacon, two kids of sausage, and maybe one or two others I can't remember, figuring I would have a couple slices leftover, instead of getting the personal 8", which is the size of the plates they use.

Should have gotten the 8" size, the 12" seemed pretty big, got the regular crust, and the toppings were piled on with cheese on top, which I kinda like, keeps crap from falling off. The pizza could almost be considered deep dish type, due to the amount of toppings and cheese. I really liked it. Everything seemed fresh and cooked pretty perfect.

I also had gotten a side Caesar salad, which looked a little cheapish when it came out. Instead of shredded, it had small slices of cheese in it, but it was really good as well, and the sliced cheese part was no problem. Only negative thing was I had to hold the small wooden bowl while I devoured it to keep it from tipping over. I think the pizza was about $12, and I had a lot leftover, all told, couple of beers, and salad around $26 before tip. Not bad at all, especially considering if I had gotten the small pizza and no salad, which would have been plenty for lunch, probably would have saved me at least $8 - $10. They have a lunch special which is an 8" one topping pizza and drink for I think about $7, that's a good lunch deal.

Food and service was really good, however, it's an old house which has been several food joints before, and there are 3 rooms inside, two dining and one bar/dining room. All are pretty small, 3-4 tables each, so large parties might be a little cramped. Parking is a little of a premium too, when you drive up there looks like plenty of parking to the right, but you soon see the sign that those spaces are only for the next door building. They do have more parking in a lot adjacent I think, but late in the afternoon when I went, there were open spaces, so no problem. Also, they have a good sized patio in the back, which can easily handle larger parties. I liked it a lot, and look forward to next trip.

Girl behind the bar was great, like the funky house vibe.  Looks like it might be fun to have a few (too many) beers here but was here for lunch.
Had the personal pizza and I wanted to say "really??" it was a frozen pizza with extra cheese, I even flipped it over to look at the crust and it had the little dimples of a mass produced frozen pizza, now maybe the crust is frozen and mass produced and the rest is hand made but again really? It was meh but cheap and heck I no snob, I eat frozen pizzas.

My husband and had passed by this place a lot and had always wanted to try it. After finally going tonight, we'll likely never go back. The seating is awkward, the tables are too short and I'm only 5'7"? The place doesn't smell like a pizza joint, but instead it wreaks of the cheap cleaner Fabuloso. Not something you want to smell while you're eating.

The menu was small, I ordered a salad because I was hungry and wanted that before my Pizza. My husband ordered a cheesesteak sandwich. His was the first thing to come out, then my pizza. When I asked about the salad they said it was taking a while because they were busy!? So I asked how a sandwich and an entire pizza could come out before something as simple as a salad? No answer.
The pizza tastes like its from Pizza Hut, and frankly you'd Likely get better service at Pizza Hut.

Don't recommend, not going back. Overall bad service, mediocre food at best and not a great atmosphere.

It finally looks like something is going to make it in one of the few remaining old houses on Abram.  There were four that I can remember.  Bentley's is one.  One was recently torn down.  One keeps getting bought, but no one will open up shop in it.  The other is this one.  It's been a host of things over the years and none stay in business for very long.  Old School seems to have finally broken that trend.

Other than the cheesy Comic Sans sign out front, the building has been treated very nicely and maintains a lot of the original character.  The patio out front is small, but useful and the one in back has been expanded into the parking lot to make a medium sized space with several tables.

Inside seating is cramped, but not uncomfortable.   The different small rooms cut down on the noise a little bit and give you a few different options when it comes to televisions.  The bar area is kinda awkward being right up in front, but with some adjustments it's getting  better.

Pizza is great.  I usually just get an 8" personal and then mix it up with ingredients.  Garlic and artichokes are on the list, which I really love.  Last time I had those two with bacon and sausage.  It was awesome.  Pricing on the food is a little higher than I'd like, but cheaper many of the nearby options.

I haven't tried any of the other entrees, but I have had the appetizers and those are pretty good as well.

Wait staff is nice, but probably a little slower than you'd like.  I'm not sure why because it always seems like there's a few more employees than needed.  It's not really that bad,  but it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to have to walk past two employees to go order another beer.

Speaking of beer, this selection is pretty great.  It's got a number of good beers on tap, some nice local options, and then a few oddballs on tap.  There's usually a couple rotating out, so you need to watch the chalk board for a more accurate tap list.  The menu is usually pretty out of date, so the chalk board is the only way to go.  There's usually a pretty decent beer on their $3 special and then there's been a few nights that everything was $3.

Just moved here from Houston, and this is by far the best pizza we've found.  Great service, great food, great beer selection, great atmosphere!  Go check it out for yourself.

The worst place ever. I only ate one slice of pizza, and it was so bad that I left the rest. Would rather eat a frozen one... All that needs to be said.

Decent pizza (the regular dough is fairly thick) and a pretty good selection of beers.  Obviously most of the clientele is college aged but a good selection for pizza.  If you order the spicy wings don't eat then touch your eyes.  The sauce is incredibly spiced.

I haven't been to this place in quite a while and I was surprised how much they had changed the seating areas.
One thing that they totally need to change is their cleaning products.
This is a small space and when I can taste whatever they are using to clean after a waitress wipes down a table there is a problem.
    The pizza was great though!
The low rating is only for the cleaning products.  They were very smelly for such a small area.

Good pizza and other fare all around. I'm glad this infamous location has another good restaurant and hopefully the suds keep patrons coming.

Great service, good food and a huge beer selection. Good times all around!

Very convenient for UT Arlington students, just north of campus.

Great pizza, very friendly service, nice atmosphere, can sit inside or out back.  I'm not a beer-drinker but I've been told by friends that this place has a nice selection.

The dining areas inside are a little small, but I've never had to wait for a table.

Still coming here today and love it.  Recently travel between Seattle and Myrtle Beach and still miss Old SchoOl Pizza.  The staff has improved a lot, very tentative and taps rotate more with better beer!  Heck ya.  I think yelp
Is helping this place because I got a thanks post I made.

Today was my first visit to the establishment, I've been hearing nothing but raves from a friend of mine who frequents the restaurant often.

Their menu wasn't too extensive but pretty decent for being next to the university. I noticed their prices were a bit steep in relation to the new Pie5 addition to College Park. My lunch party both ordered a personal pizza (8 in), and I opted for a small (12 in) because I wanted leftovers as I was planning on staying on campus late.

What got me was.. I ordered a small pizza and I received a personal pizza... The waitress, who I guess, benefit of the doubt was new? Apologized and told me that she "assumed" I wanted the smaller one when she rang it up.Probably because the other two ordered personal pizzas and she thought I had my sizes wrong. At this point, I'm kind of ticked, not because I didn't get the size of pizza I wanted, but the fact that she didn't even bother to come over to the table to confirm what I wanted. Seriously. It wasn't busy, it was 2:30 in the afternoon and your registers are about 20 paces away.

I guess, the positives was the pizza wasn't too bad and she didn't charge me wrong and was at least attentive for the rest of the time. Though, she should have been because it was slow and it seemed as if they were overstaffed because we had three different people continuously check on our table.

I may visit this place again, only when I feel like hoping they'll actually give me what I order and not assume what I want to eat.

I am from out of town and have been staying in Arlington for a couple months now and have been trying different pizza places the whole time. This is the best I've found. Great toppings, cheese, crust, service, delivery. I can't recommend a single other delivery pizza in Arlington, these guys take the pie.

Revised Review: I just called in a to go order (this would have been my second order with them) and they said that their delivery man was not available and that they are switching to "to go" orders only...

I go here for lunch with friends every once in a while and we're never disappointed.  The pizza is as good as anywhere else and the service is satisfactory.  It's usually busy (and while UTA is in session it's very busy), but I've never had any trouble getting a seat.

We usually get the lunch special - for $6 plus tax you get a personal pizza and a soft drink.  Not the best price in town, but not too bad and much better than some newer places that have opened up nearby.

I'm giving four stars not because anything is wrong, just nothing is spectacular.  It's decent food, decent service, decent price in a decent location

Been here one to many times . Pizzas are good but I've had better on the DFW AREA. Little over priced . Make sure you look for their deals on the walls cuz the server won't tell you about em and ul end up paying full price for some thing you couldve gotten for less

Disclaimer: I only go here for lunch or to grab dinner on the way home from work, so I'm not buying alcohol or sticking around long.

I always get an Italian Sausage calzone with Spinach and Tomatoes...and it is a spicy party in my mouth. Once I take a bite, I honestly can't stop eating. So freaking good. The marinara sauce is perfect, the seasoning on the outside is amazing, and I don't care that it costs $9.00. It's HUGE and I end up saving half for another meal.

DO IT. You will not be disappointed.

Good pizza for the price. I had the Alfredo with Canadian bacon, artichokes and black olives. It was great. Server was friendly, but kept forgetting to check on us outside. Nice selection of beers. I will definitely go back.

Good pizza (nothing crazy - but it's, you know, PIZZA), really really good cheese bread (pizza crust and melty cheese, with a crapton of delicious garlicky butter in between) and a surprisingly adventurous little beer list; probably 20 each bottled and on tap. Sample the coconut porter? Don't mind if I do.

The food covers the basics: besides the pizza and related items (calzone, cheese bread) there are apps (wings, mozzarella sticks) salads (grilled chicken is pretty damn good, but I wish the croutons weren't so obviously food service-bought), subs, and a few desserts. Nothing fancy, but my mouth leaves happy.

It's RIGHT by UTA, but we've always seen families in here eating too - not too fratty, at least the several times I've been. Prices are pretty good too: the largest, toppingest 16" supreme is $21ish, calzones $6, chicken salad $5, fatass 12" meatball sub is under $9. College student pricing, woo! Take advantage of that, yo.

It's got a cute teeny little front porch, a medium-ish back patio, and a maze of little rooms inside, plus the bar area. Looks like they're facelifting a bit (tables got a new coat of poly and the walls were newly painted last time we went), but is definitely a very chill atmosphere.

My oldest kid hangs here a bunch, and I can see why - sitting at the bar with her (yes, shut up - I'm OLD, whatevs), eating (and keeping an eye on a game AND using their free wifi!) all the while chatting up the staff was totally fun. A friendly, lively bunch.

Carbs (both solid and liquid), fun people and decent prices? Works for me!

I've been going since it opened and I think they have become much better with time.  I really enjoy the deli sub when it's toasted and the pizza is not bad.  I know they are working on making the place even better.  I especially enjoy having a selection of good beers to choose from at this palce.  I can't say enough good things about the superior and friendly service you receive from Kim and Jennifer.  They make the place a great place to visit and enjoy some good  schmoozing. Kevin, one of the owners is working hard to enhance the place.

The manager and owners are really rude.

There is no sign outside informing me that I am not allowed to bring outside food or drinks. As I was seated, the waitress still DID NOT tell me I was not allowed to bring in a drink. When I was away from my table, the manager apparently had walked by our table, taken my drink and threw it away even though my friend had said she would take the drink and place it in my car. When I came back to the table, I asked to speak with the manager because I have NEVER encountered such behavior before. I went on to speak with the waitress, manager and then owner. They spoke with me so rudely and told me that they would not pay for my drink. After threatening to sue them, the owner paid me for my drink and asked me to leave and never come back otherwise he would charge me for trespassing. I would not have cared this much if they would have just ASKED me to throw away my drink. I respect the fact that no outside food and drinks are allowed only if there was a sign or at least the waitress informing me that I cannot have it. I will NEVER EVER go back here. Plus, the food wasn't that great.

I found this little gem one night we looking for a place to grab a beer with a friend.  We were both on campus, she lives near enough to camps to have walked to school but I live far, far away.  This was perfect for us.
The staff is very nice, they even asked some people to move over a little to accommodate a group of us one night.  Their beer selection is pretty broad, I drink cider and have found a new one that they just started offering.  I like that they tell you where the beer is from.  The bartender at night was pretty attentive.

I've been twice now for lunch, both times the food was pretty good (they have a 6$ lunch special that includes a one-topping pizza and a drink) but the service was hit or miss.  They get crowded, so check out the patios (there are 2) for additional space.  Their thin crust pizza was, in my opinion, better tasting.

Great beer selection, but they reallllly need to work out a better way to display their current offerings.  It's a pain to get up and walk to the bar to actually look at their taps, and they didn't actually have 5 different beers I asked for from their menu last time.  My suggestion: a chalkboard in every different little room with the list updated everyday.

Very good pizza, very friendly waitstaff.  Good outdoor seating (well, it'll be good once the weather heats back up in a few months).

Bottom line, if I lived closer to North Arlington, I'd be a regular.  Being from South Arlington, I still like it enough to drive up there semi-regularly.

Went back again, specifically for the good choice of beer.  They are still serving the beer in warm glasses. Hmmmm. I had to ask for some ice to put in the warn beer.  And, then we decided to order a couple of subs, since neither of us was feeling like a pizza. Mistake!  We almost could not find the meat on either sub. I didn't know they could slice it so thin. If you go, focus on the pizza and ask for your beer in a cold glass.

Considering I'm the duke at this point, I suppose I should write a review, eh?

Well, I've been coming here since they opened and if I had checked in every time I've been here, I'd have at least 20 check ins.

They had some kinks to work out when they first opened.  I was none too pleased the first couple of times I went.  The dough was overworked and the pies were overcooked. I really wanted to like the place, so I kept coming back.

Over the next couple of weeks, they got all of the problems worked out, and now they've got the best pie of it's style in Arlington.  It's an American pan pizza style and they've got the recipe down pat!  The crust is crunchy and garlicky.  Quite delightful.  The toppings are all fresh and delicious, unlike their competition that uses canned mushrooms and imitation cheese.  The 8 inch pie is my normal choice.  I get a different combination every time, last time it was double pepperoni, mushrooms and garlic.  yum!

Pizzas are not the only choice though.  They have subs too.  I've only had one.  The meatball sub.  It was fantastic!  They don't skimp on the meatballs, that's for sure.  The bread was warm and crunchy and the meatballs were simply delightful.  Very rich and flavorful.  I'm headed there for lunch in just a bit and I think I'll have the best of both worlds.  A meatball pizza!  Make that a pepperoni and meatball pizza!

Anyway, I don't want to sound too much like their spokesman or something, it's just that I really love food.  I heart good food and good people and this place has it.  The other places that have been in this location have all failed.  There was a coffee shop, a Peruvian restaurant, and some other things, but they just weren't right for the location.  The reason this place works is because it's good pizza and a bunch of beers on tap and importantly, it's college student friendly since it's right across the street from UTA.  I live on campus so it's nice to have a place that is nearby and has good food and beer.

My one complaint is the thin crust.  It's like a cracker and I just don't like it!

Enough of my rambling.  It's a great place.  I give it my seal of approval.

The people here are genuine, the pizza is amazing and the options for beer are unbelievable for such a small place. It appears to be an old home with a big porch for smoking and being a social and a large bar inside with 20+ options for beer. The food and the beer was fairly cheap (depending on what kind of beer your order) and the size was more than enough. My husband and I love this place!!!!

Great freshly made pizza of all sizes and toppings.  Made from scratch mozzarella sticks and delicious cheesecake.  At least a dozen taps half of which are American micro-brew.  FYI it's a fairly new place so some kinks are still being worked out but it's worth it.

Have dined in twice, and had carry-out once.  Will most likely keep on doing the carry-out until the temps cool down a bit because I don't think they have any A/C.  It's super hot in there.  That being said, the pizza is really good.  We have had the thin crust as well as the "thick."  The thick is just really regular crust so don't be put off thinking it will be like Chicago style.  The wait staff are really nice and the place is cozy and cool.  I think I'll do my beer drinking at home because for a bottled domestic it seemed a tad high.  But that's just me.  All in all a great addition to West Arlington.

I really wanted this place to be better, but was slightly disappointed. The place is really cool - an old house, lots of rooms, patio out back. The beer selection is great for Arlington, lots of good stuff on tap. But the pizza tasted like a frozen pizza popped out of the box and thrown in the oven. Maybe it was the uneventful crust that made me think that, or the too-perfect circle of it. Perhaps the subs are better, but I'd skip the pizza if I went back. But great place for a drink.

Time is limited for me tonight so here is a quickie for ya.

I like Old School Pizza & Suds.  I visited this during lunch with a group of 5 coworkers.  It was a birthday luncheon.

I had the Italian sausage and fresh mushroom Calzone.  I love it.

One coworker had a chicken salad.  It was a big salad, but it was sad looking to me.

Another had a personal size 8 inches cheese pizza, the birthday girl liked it.

Two others shared a medium size maverick pizza.  They both loved it.
One person asked for ranch dressing for dipping and said it tasted like mayo.  The other person had ranch dressing for dipping too he ate away with no complaints.

Besides the sorry looking salad (I didn't taste it) I really liked the food and the prices were very reasonable, my food was not greasy at all.

The waitress was okay and she checked on us often.  But, it seemed that 1 hour and 15 minutes was really slow service -- considering it didn't appear to be very busy.

I plan on returning again and with some cash for the digital juke box.

Ah, UTA finally has a young place to grab a drink at. Most of the other watering holes around seem to cater to both local Arlington residents as well as college students. This one has Greek flags hanging all around. Nice. I will say that frat bars and good beer selections do not always go together.

The atmosphere is kind of weird. It used to be a cozy house restaurant, but they have since tried to renovate, and there is lots of junk hanging around the various dining rooms and in the patio dining area.

The menu is extremely limited: pizzas, subs, salads, and wings. Prices are not bad; I guess affordable grub is necessary in a college-town. This place will probably boom once school gets back in session and football kicks into full gear.

The thin crust pie was crispy, but the toppings, cheese, and crust were all bland and not extraordinary.

How to balance mediocre pub grub? Good beer selection, with a daily $3 special. The Real Ale Devil's Backbone was pricey, at $5.50 for the pint. It was good and strong, but much too expensive for a local (Austin ale). The St. Arnold's Lawnmower was a better option, being light, crisp, and best of all, $3. I did like that the mug had ice crystals on it.

This is the hippest eatery I have found in Arlington, so check it out if you want something different. It used to be a BYOB Latin joint, but it is just as cool now.

I dined here about a week ago on a Saturday evening with my brother. I was quite taken with the setup of the restaurant and the charming & intimate yet low-key feel of the small dining rooms. I felt comfortable like I was eating at my own house - if my house had its own staff! Our waiter, Mike, was excellent - super friendly, attentive, and nice without being overbearing at all. Great demeanor and attitude. We had some beers - Saint Arnold's Lawnmower and Dog Fish Head 60 minute IPA - the 60 minute is my brother's favorite beer, and he was delighted to enjoy it on tap! We ordered the Large pizza on regular crust with Italian sausage and mushrooms - it was delicious!!! The Large was really huge - we stuffed our selves and still had some left for the next day.

I was definitely underwhelmed on my first trip to Old School.  The prices are cheap but the pizza's not very good - overly greasy and the dough has no flavor.  The servers seemed more interest in talking to each other than waiting on customers so it took forever.

I went back a second time with some friends this week and it was just as unimpressive.  Decent beer selection but it doesn't make it worth the trip.

i ordered a personal pan pizza w/ pepperoni over the telephone.  When I walked in I felt like I had just walked into a "private party".  I told the lady behind the counter that I came to pick up my personal pan pizza.  I got a "deer in the headlights" look back at me?  I just called the order in!  I was really tempted to leave.  Most of the guest were gathered in the corner standing and drinking.  Other guests were sitting in the dining room to the right eating.  The atmosphere was weird.

I asked a server behind the counter about whether the pizza is frozen and then heated, but  she said no, they make their own pizza dough.  The pizza sauce is approaching flavorful.  I shared (2) pieces of the "pepperoni" pizza w/ Luis and we only saw 1/2 piece of pepperoni on the bottom underside of the pizza?  I put the other (2) small pieces into the frig and ate it this morning hoping to pick up some flavor on an empty palate.  No! Nothing!  I'm sorry to see that this is just another unimpressive establishment.  This part of Arlington really needs a winner to hit it out of the park!
