The Oread is other worldly. As in, it exudes a Ghostbusters, channeling demonic energy vibe.
It's basically on campus, which makes it convenient and a natural meeting spot.
It also sports a variety of semi-hidden, questionable-behavior-encouraging clubs/bars.
The rooms are nice (especially the showers), but the windows don't open. Kansas is a tragically sweaty place that needs a fresh breeze.
Also, the $12/valet parking blows, and not like a fresh breeze.
The Bird Dog on the main floor is a decent sports pub, though they need to turn down the freaking lights in the evening. You seriously need a hat to tolerate the glare.
Oh, and unless you want to smell like you just strangled your grandmother, do NOT use the complimentary lotion.
The staff was quite friendly and accommodating (for a bunch of grandma stranglers).
The Oread is  a very nice hotel,  Staff is very  friendly , and the rooms are very clean and comfortable  , the beds are  awesome,  I didn't have dinner there  but the bar looked inviting enough and the breakfast was  set up a little different than I am use to but it was fine.
I will stay here whenever in town
The architecture of this Building is really cool  the terrace on the fifth floor  was really relaxing with a great view
