They had their grand opening last month. Â This place takes delivery as well as online ordering. Â They have 20% off all orders dine in or take out. The coupon is on their take out menu. Â Their online ordering is easy and simple to maneuver. Â I ordered salmon tempura roll, soft shell crab roll, monkey roll (Avocado, shrimp tempura, cucumber, and 3 different special chef sauce.) that was one of my favorite, and sunshine roll (Shrimp tempura, avocado, cream cheese, and a slice of strawberry) yeah the strawberry threw me off but it actually complimented the whole roll. Â They arent cheap with their stuff and its was very fresh considering I had it delivered to me. Â I would order from them again in a heart beat. Very impressed!
I will try their beef negamaki next time and will post another review once its been tasted.
This new Japanese restaurant is run by the same people who own the mediocre Main Star takeout Chinese restaurant next door. I had the "Red RIver roll" (shrimp tempura and cucumber, topped with tuna and avocado), the "Yama roll" (tuna and avocado, topped with minced spicy scallop and scallion), the "Fantastic roll" (grilled sea bass, topped with avocado, fried onion, and spicy miso sauce), a Dragon roll, a classic California roll, and a crab stick roll.
While everything looked nice, and was edible, nothing had much flavor. The "spicy" items were not spicy, and the "Fantastic roll" was more chewy and gummy than fantastic. Prices are reasonable, but the portions are commensurate with the prices.
There is a multitude of sushi restaurants around here. Compared to those that I like, such as Mizu in Cranford, or Ginger in Fanwood, this place rates a solid "eh". I would give Osaka more time to establish itself before recommending it.
