I enjoy the taste of Papa John's pizza, I like the garlic butter and the pepperocini they include. Â This location, however, needs work. Â If you order from here, I highly recommend you pick it up. Â I made the mistake of ordering for delivery to my home. Â I live in a newer development in Richmond (house built in 2006), but I have had pizza delivered here from Domino's and they had no problem finding our house. Â I called in to Papa Johns and was told that it would take 30 to 40 minutes. Â At the one hour point (!) I called the place to ask where our pizza was and the employee told me the driver got lost and couldn't get through to me on my phone which was total BS since they ask for your number when you order and I had my phone on me the whole time. My cel has an area code that is not from Richmond, or from Indiana for that matter, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that the driver didn't figure out that my phone did NOT have a 765 area code. Â I again made sure they had the right address, phone number, and even told them the larger cross-streets to help locate the house.
The employee told me that they had to re-make the pizza since it was now cold. Â I appreciated that gesture, but unfortunately it would take another 20 minutes to make another pizza. Â So I said fine and waited patiently....
40 minutes later NO pizza! Â I called the place back again and this time the manager answered and said again, the driver couldn't find the place!!! Â To say I was annoyed is an understatement. Â If you know Richmond, you know it's not a very big town. Â Not to mention the fact I had already given them my cel phone number and the cross streets. Â By now I had two grumpy hungry kids and a grumpy me who had waited almost two hours for dinner. Â The manager apologized and said he would send over another pizza, but again, it needed to be remade, so I would have to wait another 20 minutes!! Â I should have told them to forget it at this point, but I didn't feel like cooking so I reluctantly said OK.
The worst part of this is that Papa John's is literally one mile away from my house, it would have been so much easier if I had just gone there myself. Â But you know sometimes you don't want to leave the house, plus I had the kids, blah blah blah...
So we are now at the two and a half hour point from the time I originally called and ordered the pizza. Â Glory be, they finally found my house! Â I was given the pizza free of charge, that was their saving grace. Â It was super-frustrating to have to wait three nearly three hours for a pizza. Â Their pizza is very good, though, so next time I want it, I will hop in the car, kids and all, and have my pizza in under thirty minutes, instead of three hours! Â Uy!
