this review is extremely LONG overdue- and to the owner I apologize -- Also this is for the rt 211 location...and more toward the owner vrs the location,..  I hosted my Sisters bridal shower here, and honestly could not have asked for more.  I don't live in the area, and called literally tons of places in the area's between new paltz and warwick ny.  No one could offer me what I wanted or got from The Park.  From the moment I spoke to the owner I felt this was the place .. He was so willing to help and be flexible to MY needs and wants.  he was responsive & attentive and i just can't say enough -  I went to visit the place and it was so beautiful inside,  the only downfall is no windows ... and even thro it is on the main hwy,  it was easy to drive by,,  - we roped off the section to the bar area where there were tables and  kinda a lounge area which is exactly what i wanted,,  i didn't want the "formal long table.  i wanted ppl to mingle and feel relaxed.   The food was good and once the party arrived,  the presentation was great ,, I asked for specific specialty mocktails,  and the only thing was that the drinks were not constantly made and avail to the guests.  but the waiters where nice and really very attentive to my needs and needs of the party ..  the party was a HUGE success.. and i can only hope the new location is doing well and just as beautiful//  ( i also wish they would open a place by me in Jersey City- its up and coming area and i think this place would do great there)

    ** CLOSED ***

This place has been closed for a couple of months now.  I liked the food a great deal and wanted to visit after I had gotten back from overseas.  Oh well.

This is a beautiful restaurant. Someone spent big bucks on decor. Very friendly service. Food was really good, from sushi, to BiBimBop and Korean BBQ. Worth the visit and close to the interstate.

It is in Middletown - NOT Cuddebackville!!! Address is 389 Rt. 211 East, Middletown, NY 10940 - next to Rite Aid and across the street from Cheeseburger Paradise. I filed a correction - hopefully they fix it quick because good local restaurants need all the business they can get and we'd hate for this one to leave because of an incorrect address misleading possible patrons! Wonderful New Year's Eve dinner - great sushi (fresh - tasty), great teriyaki chicken and shrimp. Pecan pie was good but skimpy slice for the price. Ice Cream Tempura was yummy - good texture and flavor contrasts. I liked the decor - funky but not screaming. Nice background music - kid friendly too! Will def be back.

5 stars are hard to come by, but The Park totally earned it tonight. The interior of this joint looks like it belongs in midtown, not Middletown! (hehe). I'm not knocking on Middletown, but the interior does remind me of lots of chic lounges in the city. The menu is a melting pot of culture and flavors, anything from Italian, Korean, Japanese, and Thai... (not sure why the sign outside says "American Bistro"). We tried caesar salad, filet mignon, rainbow roll, fried tofu, and spinach artichoke dip, all superb! The only thing that this place needs is good advertisement since the lack of windows just screams "STRIP CLUB"...

I was looking for a place to take my mom out for lunch that was special, and I remembered a friend of mine had mentioned The Park. I had no idea this place was there - it's hidden on the less traveled portion of 211, nestled between U Haul and some furniture place. When we walked in, I was blown away by the decor and the environment. The decor is Asian inspired, with rich colors, gorgeous hard wood tables, and best of all, comfy yet elegant seating. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and the waitress was very friendly and attentive.

As for the food, we ordered green tea and steamed edamame to start. The green tea was freshly brewed, and the waitress brought out a beautiful cast iron tea pot to the table for refills. The edamame was delicious, with a light dusting of sea salt, and served with the appropriate plates for shelling.

It was very hard to decide what to order - there's a sushi menu, as well as lunch menu with a mix of modern American and Fusion dishes. I ordered a ciabatta panini, with field greens, prosciutto, and artichoke hearts. I was worried the prosciutto would be too salty, but it had just enough saltiness to balance with the artichoke. They also crisped the slices of proscuitto, which I thought was a nice touch and gave a good texture to the panini. The panini was served with homemade potato chips, which were nice and crispy and not oily or overly salty.

I was a little worried about getting the check, considering the level of the food and ambiance. In fact, when the waitress brought the check, I was blown away - by how little it cost. It was under $30 for two paninis, an appetizer, and beverages. I've spent that much at any of the abundant chains that seem to have taken over Middletown, and I can guarantee the quality was not as high!

All in all, I am definitely recommending this restaurant, and I can tell you I will be making many future visits to The Park.

The decor in this place is like a nightclub and a lounge bar had a lovechild and that lovechild decided it wanted to rebel in its' youth and ran its' new car into a Japanese restaurant and somehow fused it's very being with the foundation of "The Park" (what kind of trendy name is that anyways JEEZ.)

Anyways, the hostess was totally cute, and brought us right to the table. Which was pretty much the only good thing that night? The waiter was inattentive and kind of brusque. As for the food...

The sushi and sashimi tasted stale and day old. Which is really not good for sushi. It wasn't fresh or cold AT ALL. It was almost warm. The rolls were not very good. My cutlery was dirty. My father's beef was extremely sinew-y. I would liken the experience to chewing on a piece of gum, but the gum tastes like terriyaki and is filled with shredded plastic bags. Bluh bluh bluh bluh that is not food D:{  Also the food took like THREE MILLENIA  to get out to the table.

Maybe they just had an off night. But I was really disappointed. I give them two stars because HOT DAMN the decor is shiny.

I wish, and I really mean it, that I had more good to say about this place. The decor is very unique and Asian inspired, you almost forget you're on Rt 211 in Middletown. But the food and service are not in union with the ambiance. I've been a few times and each time the service was worse than the other. The first for dinner we had an inattentive waiter that left us for 15-20 mins at a time and repeatedly messed up our order (you're probably thinking "Oh the poor guy was busy" But no he only had three two-top tables). The 2nd and 3rd times we had very inattentive girls that could barely break from their conversations with each other about "OMG guess who face-booked me today" to give us a drink. One of these times was at the bar- the bartender and another server were literally shouting their conversation about the details of clubbing the night before. It gave us and the guy sitting a few seats down a nice laugh but outside of that it was kind of tasteless and unprofessional. And it's one thing if you can do that and still serve the food/drinks/check without error but that they did not. I got the same vibe each time that there seems to be no management of this place, Its like the servers run the show and they don't take much pride in it.
The food is OK @ best. Nothing memorable and the prices do not match the quality. Sorry Park!

This place is definitely a breath of fresh air in the middle of an area that has almost nothing but chain restaurants. The Park has tasty food and the decor looks like a swanky night club. It is great to see a restaurant like this in Middletown and hopefully it won't be the last.

OMG, what are we gonna eat, Chili's heck no, TGIF not today or any other day, Ruby Tuesday? Not.... Dear God, is there a decent place to eat around these parts that isn't a part of some godforsaken chain??!! What look at this menu?  Hmmmmm, seems interesting. lets check it out.  Drive around and finally find it.....what it has no windows?? Did this use to be a strip joint?  It looks a little suspect!  Oh crap let's check it out; we are starving and where else are we gonna eat?
Wow!! decor was awesome and the place was immaculate.  I have a thing about checking out the bathroom.  It was totally empty, ok I am getting nervous again....Service was good and food was really really good.  Seaweed salad was great, mahi-mahi burger was off the hook, and the miso soup was hearty and delicious!  Oh let us not forget the canadian beer Le Fin Monde..... yummy!  So good we came back the second day!!

I have actually ate here a couple of times before. Each time I have been here I really liked it. I usually get the salmon dish, but this time I figured I would try something different.

My friend and I started off with the teriyaki sesame wings and spinach and artichoke dip. The wings were really good, but the dip was amazing. This would have to be the best spinach and artichoke dip I have ever had. It is so rich and creamy and it's served with garlic bread.

We then order three sushi rolls to share. Now, I have never had the sushi here before, but someone once told me that this is the best sushi in the area. Ummmm I think not. The sushi was just okay. Magoyo is soooo much better! I don't really know how to describe it - t it was off. The three rolls that we ordered were..... the special shrimp tempura roll, triple roll and hana roll. The best one out of the three was the hana roll. Oh and not to mention. If you order two rolls you get a free miso soup. They never brought our miso soup to us!

On to another positive note. This place is super trendy. It doesn't look like you are in Middletown, NY. You feel like your in NYC or something. Oh and the drinks are delicious! I order the white peach sangria and my friend had the berry lemonade. I thought both were out of this world!

"the park" (formerly hanna) is an appropriate name for this restaurant, as it offers a welcome respite from the soulless suburban sprawl of middletown's route 211. the soaring ceilings, rich colors, soft lighting, and eclectic, vaguely  modernist decor  make you quickly forget that you're surrounded by traffic, strip malls, and big box retailers. although there's a fairly extensive menu, i tried only the sushi, which was tasty and made with good quality fish. the nigiri items were properly petit, but the slices of fish were paper thin and, consequently, their flavor and texture got rather lost in the underlying rice. although the park was nearly empty during my recent visit, the service was slow and felt disorganized--despite the fact that nothing actually got bolluxed up. the sushi prices are high side relative to the location and fish-scrimping, but, in all, i enjoyed the place and will probably return when next seeking food in middletown.
