If you're coming into Sea Cliff and any of the following apply:
1. you're not a local
2. you're not with a local
3. you are a guido/guidette/douchebag or pretentious

you may as well just skip over this bar and head down to Steam Boat or some other overpriced dump on the "water"

this place is made for locals, its right next to the local volley fire department and its in the middle of a small town. Â Everyone generally knows someone sitting at or behind the bar, or is with someone who knows someone sitting at or behind the bar.

Cheap drinks, interesting decor (my friend said occasionally she likes to play "I spy..." here and is entertained for hours), pool table in the back, old drunks, young drunks...and you. Â

honestly, even if you're not from town and just looking to grab a few drinks, everyone will welcome you - unless you act like a jerk...then you'll catch the ole "north shore cold shoulder". Â it is NOT pleasant.

You do not come here to meet people, you come here with a large group of people and make your own ambiance.

What is nice about this bar is that it is as unpretentious as they come which can be nice once in a while! Â You can bring your friends that get too loud and too drunk and they will fit right in.

Friendly bartender and fellow patrons.

What a gem after a terrible dining experience! Yes, it is a dive bar and yes, the folks are pretty lit up early...but hey, what the heck!
The other yelpers have described the interior pretty well...so no need here.
Bartender was awesome and everyone was very local - like walk home local...which is probably why they were so lit and friendly! With my southern accent, i was discovered very quickly as not being local which led to some fun exchanges. Everyone was very nice and we even had a round bought for us by another couple as well as the bartender! Plus whats not to love when the bartender breaks out the hool-a-hoops and starts an impromptu contest!!!! Fun for all and the locals are pure harmless!

I'll admit: this place is a dive bar. The only thing on tap is pbr and the walls are covered in shitty souveniers and chotchkies. But to be honest: I liked it. It's your standard cheap dive bar, but the people there were drunk and happy and the bartender was friendly and served us fast. As dives go: 5 out of 5.

Total dive and agree with the previous reviewer.

Let me tell you the story of the first, and only, time I went there.

My gf and I decided to give the place a try so we went in to grab a drink and watch the baseball game. Â When we got in there all the seats at the bar were taken, but the rest of the place was empty and it did not smell all that good. Â It was just about 7:30 and the people at the bar were all smashed drunk. Â Now, don't get me wrong, I like to get drunk, but these people were already totally smashed and it was still so early.

But we decide to sit down and have a drink anyway. Â The people at the bar are all being totally obnoxious the whole time we are there. Â The music was quiet, but they were all yelling as if it were a loud nightclub. Â And they were crawling all over the place. Â Both me and my gf just wanted to get out of there. Â So we finish our drinks and as we are getting up to go another round gets delivered to us by some sketchy guy at the bar. Â I felt obligated to accept so we did.

I had to go to the bathroom, absolutely wretched. Â It smelled and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a week and it looked like someone had spit their chew into the urinal. Â The woman's was apparently not as bad.

So we are finish our other drink when the bulk of the people start telling us to get up and dance together. Â Mind you, there was no one else dancing. Â I declined and then kept insisting and I kept declining. . . they claimed that our relationship would not last if we did not get up and dance to that song. Â Very uncomfortable.

If you are in the area and looking for a bar, I say go down the street to K C Gallaghers.
