I have never been to a Pita Pit before, and thanks to this location on Kirkwood, I will never step foot in one again.
The pita fell apart in my hands, was full of some kind of mystery meat they claim to be chicken, and was honestly the worst thing I have ever tried to eat.
Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.
Stopped into the Pita Pit for the first time thanks to a birthday coupon from the HT. I geared myself up for what appears to be the standard for anyone with a free coupon in chain establishments: apathy, confusion and resentment. None were on tap at the Pita Pit. Instead, the woman behind the counter (possibly an owner, I'm not sure) was extremely chipper and helpful. When she learned I'd never been there before, she gave many useful suggestions. My expectations weren't set high (especially for a chain with "Pit" in its title), but the sandwich was pretty damned good and the service was very friendly. I was also happy to note they serve real-fruit smoothies as well. I will definitely stop by the next time I'm craving a quick made-to-order sandwich, even if I have to pay for it. It may be a little pricer than, say, Subway, but the ingredients are far more diverse and fresh. A good lunch spot, to be sure.
