What can I say about a place that's 50% off for Tuesday Wings?
This place is definitely a step down from Buffalo Wild Wings as far as the quality and taste of the chicken wings and also their sauces. They were fine but not amazing either. Service was friendly but as you can imagine on a super busy Tuesday night, they won't be stopping by as often as you'd like and things might be a little rushed.
Parking is a bitch. Good thing parking enforcement isn't that strict on the lot (street is a separate matter) so you'll be able to park along the side of the lot where there're no parking lanes marked out. Just follow the flow and you'll be fine.
And it's crowded. Especially on a Tuesday night during summer because all of the dumb ass college and high school kids come here. Oh how I loathe them. Youth is wasted on the young. But then again, you get the creepy old geezers who come here to gawk at the younger ladies in the crowd.
I got a few beers off tap and they weren't that great. The pour wasn't done right and my beer ended up with way too much airy head. But what can I expect from this place. Yes, I'm being a snob.
If this is your scene, then by all means come here. Honestly, I'd rather just order Buffalo Wild Wings to go if there's one near this area.
Parking: Limited lot, definitely carpool on Tuesdays
Price: 50% Tuesdays
Wait: 45 mins to an hour and half
We have gone here 30-40 times and brag to everyone about there wings. Big crispy and so many dipping sauces. Staff has always been quick and knowledgeable of what is available (specials) I have had several items all very good except a bison burger.(not for me) it was done the way I wanted but my pallet won't except bison (gamey) that was me not them. Big daddy Gram even has trivia on some nights it's a fun place with good food and service.
Review Source:I've been wanting to try this place since I kept hearing about it on the radio. Just came here tonight with the boyfriend for half off wings Tuesday night.
We got there almost exactly at 6PM so we beat the rush by a little bit.
We were seated very quickly and our waitress was nice. She took our order quickly and the wings came quickly. She also checked up on us a few times.
We ordered 30 wings but only finished 16 of them; Hot -n- Honey, Chipotle Lime BBQ & Sesame Garlic.
They were all pretty okay. The sesame garlic one was really sweet though. And I felt like the BBQ one had too much sauce. The boyfriend really enjoyed all of them though.
We also had a order of Spanish Fries; not bad either.
Boyfriend said he's never had anything but the wings from here so many we'll be back another time to try some other things.
Oh and it's good for sports lovers! All the TV had sports on.
Clueless!!! No Sound!?
If your looking to watch a game with sound on don't go here!!
Stay home & save your money! Went here with some friends to watch the March Madness games and they didn't have the sound on for the games. Place was busy I am 99.9% sure no one was there to this to the music they had playing everyone was watch the games! They even had skiing on one 2 of the TV's. This is not the first time this has happened at this location! I understand there are many games on but at least leave one station on with sound. When you ask someone if they are going turn the sound on they look at you like your asking them to do open heart surgery! This should be the managers job to know what big sports games are on and have the sound on for ALL major sports games Especially Flyers & Phillies games
We will be watching from home or may try Millers Ale House or Champs next weekend.
I never go to this place expecting anything special. Â The food is so so and the servers are only hired for their looks, not customer service, and I find the clientele to have an extremely high percentage of douchebags. With all that being said I still find myself here meeting up with friends for a drink or too. It's a convenient location and, if nothing else, we know what to expect because they are very consistent with their mediocrity. Â The two stars is for their wings. They aren't great but they are definitely GOOD and I do enjoy them when I'm here.
Review Source:PJ's in Cherry Hill gets a 3 from me because its better than a 2 but not by much. As this is close to my office I wind up eating here a couple of times a month. I'm not sure why. The food is ok, wings aren't bad and the beer selection is ok. It has no atmosphere and service is about what you would expect in a sports bar.
I did eat dinner here one evening and probably should have gone some where else. As in all the PJ's subsidiaries, one menu fits all meals. If you want a burger or a sandwich it OK.
Don't go out of you way to get here but if you do come you'll probably survive.
I'm a fan of their food and drinks... but their customer service is HORRIBLE, starting with their hostesses through their waitresses and bartenders.
Here's the breakdown of my experience:
I was meeting a friend there for dinner before a concert in Camden on a Saturday night at 7:15pm. I arrived to PJ's at 6:45, and headed inside figuring I'd just wait at the bar... When I walked in I noted the abundance of empty tables in the dining areas, and stood behind 2 gentlemen talking to the hostess. They told her they had two for dinner, and she told them rather rudely that there was at least a 20 minute wait because tables were being cleared (there were literally 15 tables within my sight that were clean and completely clear, but whatever...) The 2 gentlemen discussed amongst each other whether they wanted to wait or not for about 1 minute, during which the hostess sighed loudly and rolled her eyes, before saying "So what do you want to do? Do you want to wait or what?" They decided (wisely) to leave. I stepped up and told the same hostess "I also have 2 for dinner..." and she snapped at me, "Well it's STILL going to be at least 20 minutes..." so I replied, "That's fine, my friend isn't even here yet..." She proceeded to just stand there and stare at me. Seriously. It was awkward. So I said, "So... can I put my name down...or...?" She took her pen and looked at me, without saying anything at all. When I didn't say anything she snapped, "Well? What is it??" I gave her my name, and she scribbled it down and turned away to talk to someone else without another word to me. I turned around and wished the crowd standing in line behind me to check in with her the best of luck...
After standing around for 10 minutes, I wanted to go to the bar area to get a drink while I waited for my friend to arrive, or for my table to be ready, so I went to ask Miss Friendly if I could have a pager since I'd be in the bar area and couldn't hear my name being called from there, and she abruptly told me, "No. We don't give those out yet..." when I said, "What do you mean, yet?" she said, "It's too early..." and then promptly ignored me again. So I stood waiting by the hostess stand awkwardly until she called my name. When she handed the menus to someone who was walking me to the table she said, "Her other person isn't even here yet, but you can seat her anyways..." like I wasn't even there. She was winning points all over the place with me!!!
My friend showed up shortly afterwards, and found where I was seated. Our waitress was nice enough, but we only saw her once at the beginning of our meal when she took our order, and then when she brought our orders to the table, and then finally when we had to flag her down again about 1 1/2 hours later through 2 different employees because we hadn't seen her and we were ready to leave about 30 minutes before... No refills, no checking on our table... nothing. We actually ended up missing the entire opening act of the concert because it took so long there.
The food was good, I should probably mention here. The music was too loud to really enjoy your dining company's conversation.
They really need some serious customer service skills training.
I use to love it for the wing nights on Tuesday's. However, my friend found a feather in his tach of chicken wings. That is enough to ruin my meals here for life. When we told the waitress he didn't even act like it was a big deal. She did bring him new wings but we just left them. By far the most disturbing dining experience I have ever ad.
The Reese's pie for dessert is great though.
The service and ambiance are the only things that made this place two stars. My wife and I decided to try this place. We ordered the following: wings with traditional sauce, brisket sandwich, roast beef sandwich, and I had the custom Victory beer.
Victory beer: not bad, nothing to rave about. (Yards' WholeFoods custom beer is significantly better).
wings: not bad, nothing to rave about.
Brisket sandwich: awful, could only taste BBQ sauce, practically no meat on the sandwich. Basically should have been BBQ sauce on a roll.
Roast beef sandwich: minus well have gone to Wawa for quality of meat and it was overloaded with bland cheddar cheese.
Least of my favorite locations of PJ's. I went here to meet up with bunch of Gym friend's to commemorate "Going AWAY " party for Friend of ours. The party got bigger & bigger which was fine, we added tables. But our waitress seemed like she was not happy, Attitude, like we were all inconveniencing her. To the point, majority of us picked up on her ill manner. Then when she tried to be little nice, came off fake!! OK.. that will reflect on her tip...Ewphh!!!! Food was OK..My chicken quesadillas were bland, plain & for $8.99 ..Only 4 pieces. REALLY??! I was trying to find lesser of 2 Evils, something not too bad for you. Only good thing, company we had was Great..but this location & food was Not In my Top 3 to pick even though it is the largest one in the areal!!
Review Source:Went here as the after party of our USS New Jersey trip and we were starving. To say that we had a very large group it was very good. I had the bison burger made into a brooklyn burger and that was pretty awesome that they delivered. Perfectly cooked, seasoned well. The different flavors made this burger pop. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food if they ordered pub type food. You don't go to a pub and order crab cakes unless you know that is what they are known for you know. So needless to say I was laughing at some ppl (my friends) and their choices cause they were disappointed. But anything anyone asked for and if they special ordered it for as large of a group we had you can't ask for anything better. The apps were good, the burger was good. I couldn't even think about dessert.
Review Source:Place is jam packed for big eagles/phillies/flyers games. Â Usually have a good beer special everyday of the week. Â Food is decent as long as you pick the right items, I recommend the wings with chipotle lime sauce or the regular nachos with chicken or the sweet potato fries. Â Haven't really had any "dinner": items, but their snacks are alright.
Likes: good beer specials, attractive staff, lots of seating, good wings.
Dislikes: its a mixed crowd, you won't get a good reaction from people on big plays during the game. Â If you react enthusiastically, especially with an Eagles game, you are more likely to get stares than a high five. Â Some of the seating areas are really awkward if you are trying to watch the game.
For pub fare, I find Whelihan's food to be more than satisfactory, but, as you can gather from fellow yelpers' reviews, the management of this particular store is definitely substandard.
Two things I would add:
When we dined there on Labor Day, the place was only 20% occupied. Â Yet, we were led to a table very near the kitchen entrance. Naturally, I declined the offering and obtained seating near the front of the room. Â
Secondly, our new table was separated from a nearby booth by only 3 feet . . . not a problem. Â However, the nearby table was cluttered with the remains of previous occupancy, and it was hardly a pleasant sight. Â I can forgive that the table hadn't been bussed before we were seated, but I can hardly overlook the fact that we had to bask in that vista until I asked the waitress to have it cleared (after waiting patiently for almost 15 minutes), Â The staff might have been entitled to some leeway if the place had been crowded, but as previously mentioned, it was only 20% full.
I cannot fathom how Whelihan's top management, which operates several other well run stores, can tolerate such abysmal incompetence in this particular location.
I had heard about this place from a few friends... I was traveling in the area last week from California... and decided to meet some old friends here for dinner and drinks.
What a mess!
I asked our waitress at the very beginning for separate checks. Â There were three couples. Â She said no problem. Â At the end of the night, the checks were not separated... and we had a very large bill. Â
As far as ordering drinks... we ordered them... and half the time they came. Â The other half, they didnt. Â They had to be reordered and then STILL took a good 30 minutes to arrive at the table.
Once my dinner arrived, I had to ask three times and three different people for a fork. Â Good thing I ordered a salad, not something hot.
The wrong drinks were served a couple times, like I said - some werent served at all, different waitresses came up to our table a MINIMUM of 15 times with food orders asking if they were ours...
Completely unorganized and awful service. Â I dont plan to return.
Nice to eat outside, really a big place and the lots is pretty crowded, this a friday evening so the girls were out in force, not used to all the smoking outside as that wasn't too great, food was decent, the fries actually very good (famous fries ) i think, service a little slow but pleasant..............
Review Source:I prefer the smaller and less-crowded PJ's in Maple Shade. Something about the Cherry Hill location just .. sucks.
The parking lot is always insane - there are nowhere near enough spots to park.
Went last night to watch the Heat/Bulls game. My group's IDs were promptly checked upon entering - um, okay. Assuming from the full parking lot that it would be a packed house, I was surprised that we were seated so quickly. ("Seated" is being generous. After our IDs were checked by the gargoyle-esque bouncer, Â someone - I'm assuming the hostess - briskly walked away. Didn't know what to do, so we followed. Such friendly service! Siiiike.)
We were led to a table directly below a few TVs. Great, so I had to either somehow completely dislodge my head to watch the screens directly above me, or had to turn my chair completely around and strain my eyes to see one of the TVs at the bar.
A few of us ordered beers, and our IDs were checked. YES, AGAIN. I didn't even drink, I had water the whole night. BOO. Luckily the waitress was nice and came back to check on the table often.
I will say that PJ's Famous Fries are consistent (like Chickie's Crab Fries but about three bucks cheaper) and I do like the wings. Drink specials are on point.
Six people left after paying, so the remaining four of us went outside to actually watch the game. We sat at one of the outdoor tables and were ignored.
P.J.'s is the kinda place that can have a different atmosphere depending on what time or day of the week you decide to go. As far as food goes, I've only ever had the wings and felt as though they were a little "overhyped." Good but nothing spectacular and $9 for 10 wings? Ehh you can do better. Service isn't too bad. The last time I was there, we got drinks and appetizers and our waitress periodically checked up on us and was super friendly. However, I did leave before the dance party got going (This is what I mean by depending on when you go.) Overall P.J.s gets 3 stars. Not amazing but not terrible. It just seems to be the spot that most people will go to, when they're not at Applebee's.
Review Source:I've been a huge fan of PJ's wings since college, so am usually very excited whenever I get to go to one!
This location is spacious, and definitely gets loud. I've been to this one a few times, but each time the service seems to decline. Very unfortunate, because I LOVE their wings and shrimp. Generally, they have good bar food and burgers and chicken sandwiches, plus I happen to love their veggie burger. It's not mushroomy tasting at all- the thing that typically turns me off of veggie burgers- but rather other veggie-filled and delicious. I hate mushrooms, in case that was unclear!
So, on this particular recent visit, we were promptly seated in a corner booth, during prime happy hour time, and were eager to order some drinks and get to our wings! We noticed the beer specials menu on our table. I generally prefer liquor, so I specifically asked if there were any liquor/drink/NON BEER specials. This was well within the happy hour time-period. The waitress said, "No." So I ordered the cheap beer special, wanting to be financially responsible with my little bit of drinking! I drank my beer, which was definitely not quite hitting the spot, secretly sulking a little inside, but being responsible ($2 beer vs a probable $8 cocktail).
A few minutes later I noticed a listing of liquor specials on a table nearby and brought it over to my table. The waitress had since spaced off for a bit. I was surprised that not only were there multiple $5 liquor/cocktail specials available at that happy hour time EVERY DAY, but also ALL DAY on the specific day I was there. Um, thanks a lot waitress, for any combination of:
-wasting my time & money
-being ignorant
-flat out lying!
The waitress eventually came back, whereupon I showed her this list of LIQUOR specials, asked if they did in fact have them, and she told me the time had passed. Not only had I first asked way back when it was well within the time frame, but I also pointed out "It says ALL DAY today!" I would have been more pissed had the time passed and it were any other day. UGH. Frustrating.
So, I finally got one drink, since we were more than halfway through our meal at that point. We ate our delicious shrimp and wings, then we got out. The food is always great, but this place is really worth 2.5 stars with service like this. I probably would have spent more money had this waitress bothered to know or share the true specials earlier, so really, it's her loss.
Thanks for the food PJ's, but please work on training your staff to at least read the signs around them! And to stick around a bit, in case you need something after the food arrives.
It's a popular, centrally-located, reasonably-priced bar. Â The food is good pub grub - don't go if you want fine dining. Â And it's fairly cheap, so if you're bringing kids it won't kill you. Â
The wings are very good and their signature dish (their wings are used in The Wing Bowl). Â I prefer the hot-n-honey. Â Just like it sounds, the hot sauce is mixed with honey and the result is very good. Â
Limited menu, but hey it's a wings - burgers - fries place. Â Service is usually poor (if not for the service I'd give it 4 stars). Â The women working there are all beautiful and in their 20's, but they're extremely snotty.
They usually have decent beer specials early and midweek. Â Good place to watch a game. Â The crowd can be young and heavily-cologned, but that's usually late. Â I try to get out of there before it turns into "Club PJ's" after dark. Â
Outdoor area in summer is nice, too. Â And when they have live music it's usually very good, too.
I went to this PJ's location for lunch because it's near my office and was less than impressed.
I ordered the Black Jack Burger which is one of my favorites. (I've probably had it a dozen times at the PJ's in Blue Bell, PA) When it came out there wasn't any lettuce, tomato, onion or Creole Mayo. When I asked for them they brought out everything but the mayo, telling me they were all out. Normally it wouldn't be an issue had they bothered to tell me they were out prior to giving me the burger so I could change my order. Without the creole mayo I was basically getting just a cheeseburger with some spice thrown on top. When I brought it up it completely fell on deaf ears.
On the plus side, even at noon on a Wednesday the waitresses were very attractive and at that time I was probably getting the JV. They were on par with or better than the happy hour Varsity squad at the Blue Bell location.
How can two locations of the same restaurant vary so much in customer service? It's not like it's a national chain, there's only half a dozen of them or so. So if you're planning on stopping at PJ's for the food go to one of the other ones. If you're going strictly for the girls this is a good one to go to.
Therefore, the girls are saving PJ's in Cherry Hill from a 1 star rating. A generous 2.
It is what it is! Â I came here for the UFC fights and skated by the usual $5 cover because we got there early to eat a small bite. Â After being shot down with my first few beer choices, I settled on one of their local drafts offered. Â Later in the night, I ordered a bowl of chili while my father decided to go with the buffalo dip. Â For bar food, both were relatively enjoyable. Â Theres few who can mess up beans and beef or buffalo sauce and cheese. Â We also ended up ordering a plate of 10 wings, which were forgetful. Â I know most don't come here to eat, so if your looking for more of a social, drinking spot, come here after 10.
Review Source:The ONLY reason to come here is for the outside seating if you want to watch a game. Â But be warned, if there are Philadelphia games on, you will probably not be able to watch any other team. Â Even if they are on rain delay. Â You get to look at Andy Reid drone on about nothing instead of putting on another game (this was baseball season). Â And if you ask a manager about it, they are freaking rude. Â The bartenders are not engaging at all and give you a dead stare while saying, "another one?" Â Anyone home? Â Actually we stopped coming here for football or baseball because we found that Ott's in Delran has the football and baseball package and many televisions that play all of the games on the outside deck. Â
The food is consistent as it is at every PJ's so no complaints there. Â But I can just head over to Maple Shade if all I want is the food.
PROS: Â Solid menu selection, awesome wings, one of the best places to watch a game and there's a dance floor that opens up after games. Â I also like the patio outside with a bar being a "casual drinking smoker."
CONS: Â Horrendous parking and cover charges simply to watch a game. Â Getting there from I-295 can be a bitch at times too.
i enjoy going to pjs for a few beers after work but it gets annoying cause they close early on weekday nights! sitting in the outdoor bar in the summer is nice. they have your typical bar food. the waitresses there are cute like someone else mentioned. great place to watch the game. weekends are packed, but not worth paying cover in my opinion. its just a chill bar, not a club.
Review Source:This is my least favorite PJ's location. Â Although it is the largest, and definitely the most popular, something about the vibe is just off for me. Â Saturday nights always have a cover charge. Â It's only $5, and I suppose this pays for the band, but I'd rather NOT see most of the bands they feature anyway. Â Fortunately, the beer specials are consistent through all the PJ's locations, and $2.75 Blue Moon makes for a cheap night out. Â Â
An overcrowding of tables and chairs makes getting from one area to another quite challenging. Â The bathrooms aren't the cleanest, despite an attendant, and the lines start to get long later in the night.
In closing, I'm a little cranky that I wasted a perfectly good Saturday night here.
Met up with a couple of friends tonight at PJ's. Â I haven't been to this particular one in a couple of years. Â There was absolutely no parking whatsoever so I ended up making my own parking spot. Â It looked like it was packed. Â Went inside and met my friends at the bar - there are three very large bars inside and many many tables and booths everywhere. Â It's much larger inside than their parking lot outside!
Got a few appetizers to share...Chesapeake Crab Dip (so so), Spinach & Artichoke Dip (it was just ok - a very small portion but about 1000 hard pita crackers), Seasoned french fries (they were delicious but how can anyone mess up FF?) Â and Chicken Fingers (took one bite and they were fried so of course they weren't bad).
There was an older man at the bar on the other side that had his head down on the bar - either he was drunk or sleeping...there was another guy - in his 20's walking around with a dunkin' donuts cup talking to himself...many many more guys than girls in this place!
Had a cosmo with orange vodka and lime - they made it perfectly.
All in all - it was just ok if you're going for an hour or two to get a quick bite and catch up but wouldn't come here for a night of fun.
