We go there often. Â Wings are good and most of the food is fine. Â I ordered the chili once and it was mud, extremely thick as if there is a big pot, whatever was left over from the prior day was reheated and thickens up, would never order it again. Â When you walk in, especially in the summer there's outside dumpsters and it smells like vomit, disgusting. Â They should really move that to the furthest point in the lot.
Review Source:Like a dumbass I went back. Â No changes, the food is still terrible. Â I ate at Iron Hill, Chickie & Petes, Smokey Bones and Buffalo Wild Wings in the last ten days. Â How do they all get it right when the place in my town sucks! Â When does the POP Shop come to Medford? Â I'll be the first in line.
Review Source:When I think of PJ's, I'm not going to lie: the first thing I think of is Wing Night (Tuesdays). Half price wings are hard to beat, especially when they come in so many tasty varieties. I especially love the Hot 'n' Honey wings, and I have always wanted, but never managed to try, the Sweet Chili wings. My favorite thing about the wings, though, is not the ample sauce, but the bleu cheese dressing. I have never (and I mean never) found a more favorable wing accompaniment than bleu cheese and PJ's has the best. The chunks of bleu cheese are at a great ratio for the amount of goo that comes in the cup (high goo ratio is a downer for me).
I can't say that I have ever eaten much else than wings at this location, although the chili I ordered was respectable and not too spicy. I wish I could comment on the Famous Fries, but I just haven't had them (and if they are the crinkle-cuts that I saw at the table next door, no thank you).
There are a ton of beers on tap and many are not what you would expect (i.e., many craft beers). I saw oatmeal stouts, seasonal brews, and even a few tripels. I am pleased with the prices, though I can't really recall any amazing specials.
Service is usually decent at this place, and it is much smaller than the Cherry Hill location (which to me seems to be a cavernous and never-ending maze). That being said, the parking lot is absolutely massive for the amount of space in the bar, because the PJ's appropriated a parking lot from a building next door. This large amount of parking combined with the fact that high schoolers get dropped off and flood the place on Tuesdays means that while Wing Night has great prices, you will have to wait for a table if you arrive on a whim. Why didn't I know about this in high school?
Overall, a decent location in a chain of bars with a good beer list and typical bar food.
I live about a mile away from PJ's in Cherry Hill, and I thought I could make it there for dinner before crowd of 22 year old bro dudes took over and douched all over everything, as it goes on weekend nights there. Â Alas, it was too late, as it had filled up much earlier than it would in my own youth. Maple Shade being only a few miles down the road, I decided to take the short drive because I had a heavy hankering for some wings.
I arrived to a mostly full parking lot, but there was parking available (unlike Cherry Hill, where I was almost run into several times by a young girl driving a Honda whose male passenger had some particularly horrible facial hair.) Â When I walked in, one of many hostesses advised me that the wait would be 20 minutes. Â That seemed fair enough as the mostly adult crowd was all seated at tables.
After 30 minutes, our buzzer rang, and we were promptly seated. Unfortunately, that is the only part of the evening that was prompt at all. Â It took another 10 minutes before a waitress came to see us. Even the table behind me, which had sat down several minutes after I had, already had drinks.
My waitress was nice enough, though she seemed to be covering half of the restaurant herself. Â As a result, the service was very slow. Â It seemed as if they were understaffed in that area, as we were seated next to the hostess station which was full of four girls and two managers who seemed to be standing around not doing much of anything.
I ordered 10 wings and famous fries. My girlfriend had the buffalo chicken wrap. Â I am a big fan of PJ's wings, and the product did not disappoint. Â However, they only gave me 8 wings instead of the full 10 in the order. Â My waitress (when she did make it around) happily brought out the missing two. Â Otherwise, a toothpick was partially broken off in my girlfriend's wrap, and the Famous Fries that we ordered were hardly notable. Â They were barely seasoned, and the cheese dipping sauce was mostly liquid with chunks of cheese floating in it. Â This is not the experience I was used to as I have ordered these many times before. Normally the fries are very well seasoned, and the cheese sauce is thick and sticks to the fries well.
While our waitress was doing her sweep of the majority of the restaurant and we were waiting for our check, Â someone else was on his way out and told the manager that he was not receiving any service so he left some money on the table and was leaving. I didn't blame him.
Overall, the service was incredibly slow. The fries were not consistent with what I had at other PJ's locations, and the food could have been under better quality control. Â It is a nicer atmosphere than Cherry Hill, so I will give them another chance. Â I didn't blame our waitress, she seemed very busy. Â Too bad I can't say the same for the rest of the staff from what I saw.
The food at this PJ's is below par for typical pub fare, in fact even Iron Hill up the road has better food. Â The crowd here is very young and the atmosphere loud. Â
It does look like this location does well for the owners who are the real winner here.
When we there there recently, some old guy was asking trivia questions on the microphone in addition to the other noise, I guess that's the entertainment.
The draft beer tasted a little skunky like the tap lines needed a good cleaning. Â Fortunately, there are several good bottle options as well as a full bar. Â And I'm sure there are probably some good menu items, unlike the wings which were greasy and raunchy.
I do like the other PJ's and other restaurant ventures this company has locally, but this one could use a makeover and some better chef work.
Set your standards low and you'll probably be satisfied enough.
Checked this place out with a few friends from south jersey. We got 2 beer towers and hung out at the table most of the night. Prices were decent on that, about $15 for a Miller Lite one
The place is huge though. It's really like a large, long Applebees or something. The menu made it seem like it would be a great place to go for wings and beers when there is a game on.
We were there on a Saturday night and it was pretty packed. $5 cover for a lame cover band we didn't watch, but other than that I suppose it's one of your only choices in the area so you might as well suck it up.
Came here the night before Thanksgiving, saw a line out the door and figured this must be an exciting spot. I was wrong.
This place is a glorified frat house. Loud music on crappy speakers, filled with 20 year olds and they were serving nothing but light beer and Yeungling all night plus a $10 cover.
Seriously? I'm a grown up, I can drink regular beer like Sam Adams or Heinneken.
This place is for 18-20 year olds. With fake ID's.
This is another regular spot of ours. Â They've got decent food, good drinks, a better than average beer selection, and usually have a pretty good crowd. Â We're usually the only people in the bar wearing Mets (me) or Yankees (her) apparel, and we've never had a problem with people at this location. Â The Cherry Hill location? Â Different story.
Anyway, their Saturday and Sunday day bartenders are awesome, and some of the weeknight tenders are great. Â Some aren't. Â The service seems to be really hit or miss, depending on who's working the bar (we very rarely sit at a table). Â One thing to be wary of...Tuesday night is all you can eat wing night. Â Good, if you're in the mood for wings. Â Bad, if you're trying to get a table. Â Every teenager from Moorestown, it seems, packs the place, and it's impossible to get in the door. Â Fortunately, they're all underage, and there's usually a spot at the bar that can be stolen.
Definitely deserve an upgrade due to their treatment of Giants fans on Monday night. Â They gave us several televisions including the two flat screens on one side of the bar. Â I was just getting all pissed about how the one on 70W treats non-Philly fans so I definitely wanted to acknowledge that this most recent experience was extremely good. Â And can we please get the Monday night cook on Saturday? Â That was an awesome chicken cheese steak and the FRIES WERE FRESH YAYYYY!
Review Source:I am not going to lie - I love this place. Â I just think it is a very good sports bar that has a great atmosphere with great food. Â I have been to other locations, as well. Â The food, especially the wings, is very good in every location I have been to. Â I have also had the burgers here and they are very good, too. Â They always have a great selection of beers and you can't beat wings and beer. Â It is an absolutely phenomenal combination. Â This place does both well.
PJ's also seems to have a very good nightlife. Â I have been to others before and they have live bands, lots of people and good drink specials. Â This place is definitely great for the South Jersey area.
This place is a bit generic and dreadfully pricey for pub food, but the food quality is different and you'll notice some twists in the menu items--for example, the cheese dip is actually melted cheese that doesn't harden after a while--always nice.
This is a superb place to go for drinks. It's kind of frat boy-ish, but the bartenders know what they're doing. Good for beer fans.
I wanted to go somewhere else, but my friend from high school wanted a pub/sports bar scene, so I said let's just go there. It was packed for a Wednes night. Took like 5-10 minutes just to seat 2 people- Wow. I already ate, so he ordered something. It too forever to bring out the food. But our waitress was cordial & attentive. Just Ok spot , but Some people I know like it, not my first choice. But better then Champs.
Review Source:At the urging of my sister, I am lowering my rating for this particular PJ's location. Â The two of us, along with our step-dad, decided to hit the Maple Shade PJ's for game 1 of the Flyers/Penguins playoff race. Â We were seated at a prime table with no less than 6 televisions within ten feet. Â The evening looked promising.
I ordered a Bass and was told that they were out, a typical response when ordering beer at this location. Â I settled for Smithwick's. Â We started off with chicken nachos, which arrived at our table curiously smothered in long strips of lettuce. Â Was it to hide the very minimal amount of toppings underneath? Â Was it to hide the strange, almost undercooked consistency of the chicken? Â I didn't know but I didn't like it. Â And neither did Kate, who at that point, started voicing her displeasure over the restaurant's recent descent. Â
My step-dad and I had "wicked chicken" sandwiches for dinner. Â These sandwiches used to come with nice, big chunks of grilled chicken with buffalo sauce on a long roll. Â Now, they use some type of shredded chicken that is reminiscent of a chicken steak, only not fried. Â The sandwiches were okay but not "wicked" great. Â Meanwhile, Kate was angsty over her Cajun chicken wrap, which was falling apart all over the place.
It was decided that dessert could save the meal so we ordered peanut butter cup pie and a hot fudge brownie a la mode to share. Â The pie hit the spot but the brownie was a failure. Â Normally, this dessert is our favorite on the menu, but the brownie had a light, cake-like consistency, and Kate claimed the ice cream tasted freezer burnt (I have a cold so my taste buds cannot be trusted).
For the most part, I love my PJ's, but the Maple Shade location is definitely a buzzkill. Â In addition to the food quality going down, the environment is devoid of any energy or excitement. Â Iron Hill Brewery is set to open shop around the corner on Kings Highway in the very near future. Â Things are going to get really interesting if improvements aren't made soon.
Before last night, it had been a couple of years since I hit up this PJ's. Â It proved to be just as I remembered, complete with some of the same servers and patrons from my high school.
Our waitress (also a CHS alum!) was on point with the drinks, always managing to check in with us just as we were low enough to order another. Â The Famous Fries were, of course, sinfully delicious. Â The Cajun Chicken Salad, which 3 of us ordered, was also really good.
Apparently, this is also a great place to hit up to watch "The Game," whatever that happens to be on any given day. Â I'm not into sports, so I wouldn't really know. Â But I do seem to remember some pretty packed nights at PJ's involving one sport or another.
Jec and I were glad to find this place on yelp!
We wanted to find a bar/restaurant to watch the Charger game at after we flew into Philadelphia for a business trip. Â This place was on the way to our hotel.
The Chargers lost. Â Boo.
Anyways, nice place. Â Good size and layout, clean with good service. Â They gladly sat us in front of the plasma tv which was playing the football game we wanted to watch. Â This place has about 20 big screen tvs all over. Â Beer was good, steak and potatoes yummy. Â Nothing like beer and food after a long cross country flight. Â Reasonable prices. Â Calamari recipe was different than anything I've tasted but very good.
PJs is a great hangout if you are looking for a place to have a few beers or even have a decent dinner. I usually frequent here with friends for a beer (or 2 or 3 or 4) and wings. There signature wing sauce (Hot and Honey) are by far my favorite wings. Not very spicy and tons of flavor they go GREAT with PJs Famous Fries, which consist of crinkle cut fries with old bay seasoning and American cheese for dipping. Beer is greatly priced and they always have specials that are very good. (2.75 Blue Moons on Saturday night for example). Beer selection is a good size.
If you are going for a sit down dinner, their chicken sandwiches and steak are both great choices. For an appetizer they have one of the best spinach artichoke dips I have had anywhere. I have never had any of their salads, however many of my friends have said they are very good with lots of flavor.
Highly recommend this place!
I used to frequent PJ's when I lived in the area.  I think it can be best described as a sports bar with above average food and without a hint of whatever makes a dive a dive.  The decor consists of lots of  wood, brass, cool shit hanging on the walls, and plasma TV's. The menu is comprised of salads, burgers, specialty sandwiches, wings, apps, and a short list of entrees.  There's quite a variety of beer on tap and daily beer specials as well (Tuesday's - $3 Sam pints).
