Pockets is literally around the corner from me. It's fast, and a healthy alternative to most fast food. You pick what you want in your "pocket" and that's about it. It's not rocket science. It's worth the money, as they give you tons of ingredients, always spilling out of your pocket. Half pockets are good as well. Recommend ordering instore, as I did online once and had to wait 20 minutes for my order.
Review Source:I'm not really sure how to describe Pockets. They seemed to have some good fresh veggies but I felt like the sandwich itself was not very tasty. My boyfriend also agreed that it just wasn't very good. I Â usually like this type of food but everything just tasted very bland. I was really hoping to like this place since it's so close to where I live. I guess I was a little disappointed with our food but maybe I'll try something different next time...
Review Source:Love the tasty, healthy menu, so I'm so glad Pockets opened nearby. Â The food is always wonderful. Â It's tough to decide what to order. Â Two gripes...1) Excessively long delivery time. Â The menu states an hour. Â That would be bad enough, but it's usually longer. 2) Â We live in the delivery area (obviously) but the "system" won't let us order online. Â It would be easier than having to go over the order again and again on the phone, and we'd be able to get all the online discounts. Â Fix the program!
Review Source:I've been a big fan of Pockets for a few years now. Their bread is fresh and delicious. I also can't resist their ranch dressing; it's thick and creamy. I usually get a tuna pocket or calzone. I usually get it delivered, but have eaten at the restaurant a couple of times. Delivery is quick and you can earn free food if you order online.
Review Source:I used to drive past pockets wondering what awesome pocketed food they had, so I finally convinced my roommate to eat there with me one day. The plan was to eat then go see a movie. We ordered our food (me: salad pocket/roommate: calzone) and the employee told us it would be about 15 minutes. Well...25+ minutes later we get our food and unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The pockets they use are not very good, all the ingredients seemed fresh but just not my cup of tea. My roommate wasn't very impressed by his armored calzone either. The outside dough was nearly impenetrable, and when he finally broke through there was barely anything inside, just a couple cubes of turkey and some melted cheese. Now all this wouldn't have been so terrible, except for the price we had to pay for this sub-par food. (AND they made us late for our movie)
All in all, their food is overpriced and not very good.
They're delivery time states one hour. That does NOT translate to 1 hr and 20 minutes, when you live 8 blocks from the restaurant. I will NEVER order from them again after the lack of any type of professionalism when I called to inquire as to what and why it was taking so long for one baked potato and one calzone. Full disclosure, I am 7 months pregnant and waiting longer than quoted for food, is a bit more of a time sensitive issue for me than others. Regardless, they should change their written policy on their site and on grub hub.
Review Source:Pockets... I have a love hate relationship with you; not this specific location, but the company as a whole. Â This location is fine. Â They are courteous to dine-in customers, and their delivery employees are prompt and pleasant as well. Â Unfortunately, they are overpriced - $7.49 for a smallish sized salad? Â $4.49 for a mini-calzone the size of my fist? Â No.
The Food:
Get a salad. Â Get a calzone. Â I would steer clear of adding any meat, other than bacon or pepperoni, to the salad or calzone. Â Specifically, I HATE the turkey and the chicken. Â They are so obviously processed (and I am aware the pepperoni is processed), have a gross texture, and the flavor is fat laden. Â
One other odd thing, the extra pizza sauce that comes with the calzone is always cold. Â Why is this? Â No-one wants to dip a hot calzone into cold pizza sauce.
Overall, I would say that this beats McDonalds, but not Burger King. Â Wendy's but not Dairy Queen. Â Taco Bell but not Chipoltle. Â Actually I'll probably never go here or order from here again.
Update:
As in usual Pockets fashion, I only held on to this meal for about five minutes.
I think this Pockets recently opened, but I'm not sure when.
My bf and I used to live in Hyde Park, and we'd get Pockets all the time. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Berry Blue salad. To me, it's salad perfection with either the honey mustard or fat free raspberry vinaigrette dressing. But when I'm craving bbq sauce (which is like, 5 times per week) the SW Chicken Salad or Pocket is PERFECT. I get it with bbq sauce instead of the normal dressing, which is ranch. Not only is it super delicious, but it saves a lot of calories.
We ordered from this Pockets last night - he had a BBC Calzone, and I had the SW Salad with Chicken, and we both had Chicken Chili. What I love about this place is that everything tastes really fresh, and pretty much all their ingredients are actually good for you. They did forget the sour cream I'd accidentally ordered for my bf's chili (hence the 4 instead of 5 stars), but no big deal.
Delivery came on time, the delivery driver was courteous and friendly, and we'll definitely be ordering from here frequently.
