Absolutely delicious!!! I've been twice for dinner and once for lunch, and I can't wait to go back again. The lunch buffet has something for everyone, but the complimentary nan was burnt and hard--the only negative. Both dinners  were amazing--I couldn't believe  how good the flavors were in this tiny restaurant in a small midwestern town! I live in NYC, where good Indian food joints are abundant, yet Priyanka makes some of the best Indian food I've ever had. This is hands down my new favorite restaurant!
Review Source:It is best to go on chilly day for that warm Indian food. Â They had a buffet option for dinner which was helpful since I can be quite the novel at the terminology of different entrees. Â Usually I wasn't a big fan of briyani with raisins but I could hardly taste it. Â Of course, I find their dessert quite good especially this dessert that looks like DD's munchkins deeps in sweet syrup. Â I Â would go back again if I do venture out to this small town. Â Who knew this hidden mom and pops restaurant is located in this place??!!! Â Service was great!! Friendly!
Review Source:Went with my brother when I was back in town. Â Tried the palak shorba, a delicate spinach soup. Â Loved it. Â My favorite Indian foods are spinach-based. Â I love palak paneer. Â If you were disappointed by Passage to India in its last days, come back to this location -- these folks are doing it right!
Review Source:Working across the street with only a one hour lunch break, I was THRILLED to find this Indian buffet. We were seated immediately, and my friend (who had brought lunch and had never tried Indian food) said "I feel like I'm in India!" The owner said it was no problem for her to eat her sandwich with me while I had the buffet.
For $8 including tax, I was brought a basket of fresh naan from the kitchen (your choice, garlic or plain), and then a good assortment of items from the buffet. Loved my palak paneer (spinach with cheese cubes)...NICE spice level! Sometimes buffets make their food too bland. On a scale of 1-5, I'd say the heat was about a 3. Some of the other dishes were very mild, and one was close to a 5. Nice that there's something for everyone. There were 2 desserts kheer and gulab jamun (rice pudding and cheese pastries in honey syrup), a goat dish, a biryani, several chutneys, mixed veggie pakoras (battered fritters), chat, 3 saucy chicken dishes, and 2 tandoori chicken dishes. One half of the buffet was vegetarian items and the other half was meat items. I liked how it was divided and labeled as such.
Both of our water glasses stayed full, and I left full and happy. Friendly quick service...I will be back when I'm in the area. Also, to whoever wrote the menu...GREAT job with the descriptions. They are seriously the best I've seen at any international restaurant. Someone who has never had Indian food before would be able to get a very good idea of what to order based on the descriptions at Priyanka.
This is formerly Passage to India which was taken over by new management. Â They still have an excellent lunch buffet which has a very good selection of entrees many of which are vegetarian. Â For dinner it is usually made to order except on Friday which has the full buffet (I think). Â The quality of the food is excellent and the service is acceptable. Â My only complaint is that if you ask for spicy, the cooks will give you "American hot" not "Indian hot" if you don't look Indian.
