Pretty good decent gay bar. Yeah the drinks are expensive-to be expected in a casino. The crowd was nice. I know! Nice!! Me and my bf had a couple of beers and enjoyed ourselves here. The atmosphere is meh. Music was pretty damn good, nothing surprising lots of Madonna and Gaga... Great to be able to just step outside to the balcony for a quick cigarette. We go to AC fairly often to get out of Philly nd will definitely be back.
Review Source:Came over here after a day at Borgata. Â Had a nice evening. Â Met interesting people. Â Saw what could be the best outdoor view of Atlantic City. Â Music was fun. Â People were dancing. Â The young 20-something crowd peaked at about 1:30am, but it was the middle of January so I guess it can get really packed during the season or when large conventions are in town. Â A pretty nice space.
Review Source:Yelp keeps telling me to write a review of Prohibition, so I guess I gotta.
The most awesome thing about this place was that right after we arrived, a stream of drag queens/impersonators made their way into the club - they were so sweet and also terrifying (a gianormous Dolly Parton is both amazing and terrifying, yes?). I found Prohibition because I was looking for a specifically gay dance club. And I found it. Boy did I find it.
Runner up in awesomeness: the requesite adorable gay boys doing the spot-on Single Ladies dance toward the end of the night.
Completely un-awesome: drink prices should not be astronomical at a place like this.
Runner up of un-awesomeness: a place like this being basically a hotel conference room, complete with sconces, converted into a TINY "club." It doesn't feel like a club, it feels more like someone's prom.

This WAS the only free place we found to dance, and music was decent, but I wasn't particularly impressed. We got here early and left, and then came back again later when things were more bumpin. The nearly naked dancing gentlemen were cool - the dancing nearly naked chick was kinda busted. I feel like I have more fun at the podunk "club" in my central Maine hometown. The 80s night downstairs was fifteen dollars... and that made me really sad.
The end.
Oh, no, wait... I'm sorry. I also want to say that as queer gal, I don't think it's a good idea to rate any ol' gay club highly just because it's "alternative." Even catering to an LGBTQ population, things can still be lame. By making everything associated with "gay" "good," it sort of implies a ubiquitous homogeneity to the community, and a lack of self-reflection - and lord knows the LGBTQ community is more multifasceted and productively self-critical than that. Additionally, I agree with Amanda that this club is simply a way to capitalize on an otherwise un-catered to population in Atlantic City. Okay, friendly neighborhood women's studies teacher over and out. The end, forreal.
Men on stilts, ridiculous go-go dancers, gorgeous drag queens and so bad its good pop music remixes.
Entry to the club was free with a Resorts card and there was a spacious balcony for smokers or when you wanted to take a break from the bar.
Since this is in the casino drinks are ridiculously priced, a thimble of whiskey for ten dollars? No thanks. A round of well drinks for eight people came in at around $90.
The "club" itself is a converted conference room, or event space and kind of feels like a super gay bar mitzvah.
I have mixed emotions about Prohibition, this place is simply using the gay community as a way to cash in on an undeveloped niche in Atlantic City. Â The owners of Resorts have donated money to politicians who have voted against same sex marriage.
Still it is a GLBTQ friendly option located in a casino so theres that.
Finally there is a terrific Alternative Night Club in Atlantic City!
Finally, Atlantic City has a place for the entire population who likes to dance and feel safe to be!
Resorts International Hotel Casino has dedicated a large part of their resort to the Alternative population. The entire 13th Floor has been converted to a hot spot which in time I predict will do quite well.
Since the new owner took over this depressed property, there is no question there is a new, better attitude. Good job! Even the Valet, TIM greeted us with a positive attitude which made us feel so welcome!
Both LIPS and I were guests of the Director of Resorts to experience their new show, "BELIEVE" and then after the show to the night club for a night of pure entertainment and fun.
LIPS was dressed in a Spring outfit of a Green Striped button down shirt, Diamond Cuff Links, White pants, of course a new Green and tan Gucci Belt. He then finished his, "right out of GQ Ensemble" with the newest Gucci Slipper Loafers. He was HOT!
The Paparazzi had a field day with us. After an hour of Pictures, jeez enough!
The show,"BELIEVE" is a female impersonator dedicated show. The people who enjoyed the show was a mix of young and old, alternative or not and the show received a deserved standing ovation!
There was not an empty seat. Â So, order your show tickets in advance! Totally sold out! The show was GREAT and at times I was mesmerized that I wasn't watching the REAL entertainer such as Cher, Prince, Liza or Patti La belle to name but a few. The professional entertainers were spot on. Â I didn't know what to expect but was totally entertained and I suggest to every one of my readers to go to the show and then hop on over to CLUB PROHIBITION for a night of pure fun!
After the show, we walked about 50 feet into the new and totally cool club, we felt so at ease. The dance floor was surrounded with Palm Trees and the lighting was emulating the Tropical Colors of the Islands. The Music was thumping hot although a bit loud. (I'm old) People who were enjoying themselves ranged from the 21 year old to the 60 year old. Female and male alike everyone was just having a blast.
We had a reserved Table which was so appreciated. The drinks averaged 12 bucks a pop. A bit steep but this is just what is charged in this sort of environment.
A terrific evening and I think the property is definitely on the right path to finally bring some fun back to Resorts International.
