Qdoba frustrates me.
Yes, I prefer it to Chipotle (I find their food to be bland and overpriced at best - not even their hottest sauce has any real kick to it). Qdoba has healthier alternatives (hello, whole wheat tortillas and delicious veggies!). However, this particular Qdoba seems unfriendly and out of touch.
The thing that sticks in my craw the worst is that the staff simply doesn't seem to give a darn about their customers. Example: I ordered the Craft 2 with the nachos and a cheese quesadilla. Normally, the quesadilla comes with pico de gallo inside and sour cream and guacamole on the side. Not of that showed up on my plate. Confused, I asked where the missing ingredients were. I was told, "Oh, the small one doesn't come with anything." When I pointed out that information is missing from the menu and all signage, the employee shrugged - and offered to sell me some guacamole for $3.99. I think not.
I've also had trouble understanding staff for whom English is not their first language. Â
This example is pretty indicative of what I experience there on a regular basis - yet I keep going back. Maybe I just don't want to believe that a place with such good food could have such crap service.
Update: After writing this review, the manager reached out to me and apologized for my customer service experiences at Qdoba. She promised to speak with the staff and even mailed me vouchers for free meals. I really appreciate her going above and beyond to rectify a situation!
The food is flavorful and fresh, staff is usually friendly, and their guacamole is awesome.
This time though the girl who was making our food really made it obvious she did not want to be there. She didn't even look at us when she greeted us. The manager was also standing near by so I didn't understand why she didn't tell the girl to be a little bit more friendly and to learn how to make a taco. I'll ignore this one time thing and rate it on my past events but companies really need to realize that good employees make a big difference.
I just want to give a shout out to the fabulous crew at Qdoba in Woodridge. Every time I go, everybody is SO friendly. Like abnormally friendly for a burrito shop. They always acknowledge me when I walk in the door. This past time they offered samples of their pulled pork and shredded beef while I was deciding what to order. And on my way out? They gave us a buy 1 burrito get 1 free card. Just because. Super nice. I'm a fan of Qdoba in general and an even bigger fan of this location. It probably sounds like someone paid me to write this, but trust me, they didn't.
Review Source:This place is great! I first tried Qdoba in CA a few years ago and was happy to see one close by when I moved into the area. Their food is consistently fresh & delicious. Their flavors are subtle and simple but far from bland. They even have a nutrition calculator on their site (for those who are watching what they eat) and a frequent diner rewards program.
Besides their food, the main reason I love this place is the staff! They are all so sweet and friendly. They have gotten to know us and always make a point to ask us how were doing, if there is anything they can do better next time, they'll even come chat with us at the table sometimes.
I understand that these places are chains and typically it's in, out, done but this particular location is something else! Give them a try. You won't be disappointed!
When this first opened, it was ok, but the past couple of times I've gone to this specific Qdoba, I've had problems with my order. Biggest one? It seems that none of the staff speak or understand english!
This wouldn't be so bad if they would pay attention to what I'm ordering, but that just seems to be too much of a problem for the staff.
Again, this has only happened at this Qdoba, in fact this is the only "mexican" place that I've had this problem in! Its not the only one that has Spanish speaking staff, just the only one that doesn't seem to care about the customers.
I've never been to Qdoba Grill before. So when it was suggested for lunch, I was thinking "Oh great another sub-par Chipotle." Let me say, I was surprised. I had the shredded beef burrito and it was good. The ingredients tasted fresh and yummy. The only thing was their "hot' sauce didn't seem hot enough. I had to use the Cholula on the table. Next time, I'll get the extra hot sauce. Service was friendly and quick. Perfect when you're on a tight lunch schedule. I know when I want a good burrito, this is the place to go.
