I had been to this place for a Yelp event but never to thoroughly sample their assortment of tapas (small plates meant for sharing). A Scoutmob for 50% off seemed like the perfect occasion to try a larger selection of their items.

Let me start by saying this place is really cool. It's found in an unassuming location in a strip mall; when entering, you'll notice there's a good amount of outdoor seating, and I was impressed by the hand sanitizer pump in the entry -- thanks! The decor is dark, chic, and romantic, although I didn't really have trouble reading the menu, so it wasn't too dark, thankfully. Now tapas bars aren't cheap (an item for 2 people, like 2 tacos, runs about $6-8), but then again, they aren't more expensive than food trucks. (Side note: if you're the type of person that goes home hungry from buffets... tapas may not be for you. Unless you have lots of money.) We passed over the highly-raved calamari and lobster/corn dip (I already knew these were excellent) and tried the grilled romaine salad, fried green tomatoes, short rib tacos, tomatillo pork nachos, and flourless brownie for dessert. Every single item was great. The flavors were inventive and novel, which really made a difference for me. I leave so many tapas places thinking "well that was enjoyable, but nothing new," which means I don't crave it again for awhile. This place, though -- I already want to go back so I can try all the other items.

The friendly manager stopped by twice, once to check on us, and another time to deliver our dessert. I asked him some questions about the food, and he knew the items well. The waitress was also very good and attentive, despite that she was the bartender at the time, too! Overall, a good experience.

The tapas were good and drink pours were not stingy. I remember the lobster mac & cheese was really good. The atmosphere is a little strange for a piano bar. If you are sitting in the bar area when the dueling pianos are playing, you can't hear them. Nonetheless, great food and drinks.

I love this place, and the only reason that I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that they forever changed their early bird special, and that seriously cut back our ability to visit and spend our money there. The deal they had before was great, with half priced tapas, instead of the 20% off they have now. My husband and I love to go there hungry and chow down. The lobster corn dip is a must, and we do not share that--have to get out own because it is so good. We have enjoyed all the pizzas. The calamari is excellent, and a good portion. The asparagus is great, and the plantains are so tasty, that we have tried to emulate them at home. My husband really like the pork nachos (I do not eat mammal, so I am including his input). The tres leches dessert is excellent too. Tasty tapas and drinks can really add up, so make sure to be aware of what you are getting.

They also have dueling pianos for entertainment. the management is great, and you will likely get a visit from one of the owners during your visit, checking on your experience. Also, this place, in case you are interested, seems Cougar-tastic. We giggle about the roaming cougars catching their prey here. So maybe that is one of the target audiences?

Wow. What a wonderful surprise. Husband and I were out and about the Merchant's Walk area and I yelped a near bye restaurant. The reviews looked good, so we tried Red Sky Tapas. Boy are we glad we did. The atmosphere wasn't your typical bar setting, the wait staff was super nice, and the food was great. If you don't know, tapas means snacks or appetizer. My husband and I shared the Lobster and Roasted Corn Dip (it had a spicy kick to it), Buffalo Calamari, Blackened Ahi Tuna, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Plantains. Everything was outstanding and to my surprise dinner was under $40. Terry, one of the owners, came out to great us and was also very gracious. We look forward to coming back.

My two cents: Very Impressed.

I've only been in Atlanta for about a month and have been trying new places left and right. I had never experienced this venue before but my girlfriend that I went with did. She mentioned the food was good and worth trying. I figured with Yelp, why not. I took a look at the regular menu to get an idea for pricing. The food is moderately priced and served in small portions. We were able to sample the Lobster Dip, Buffalo Calamari, Blackened Tuna, and Southwestern? Eggroll. The only thing out of all that I did not like was the Tuna but that is a personal preference. The rest of the food was delicious and cooked great. We also had a few drinks and it they were definitely stiff. Worth the cost, which isnt that much either. From my understanding, they have dueling pianos and different events throughout the week and even on the weekends. Definitely worth checking out someday. I will be back soon.

My ONLY disappointment is I have missed the elite events hosted here due to my travel schedule! But my wife and I eat here regularly! Can't recommend it enough! For yelper the even offer a special on calamari (wish I ate it... or could use it for something else).

Staff is friendly and attentive! GREAT for groups! GREAT to just swing by and grab a drink!

See you soon at Red Sky!

Every time I go here I get great service and great food with an upbeat environment. I'm a fan and would suggest it to my friends. I haven't had anything on the menu I didn't like and that's saying a lot coming from me.

My experience at Red Sky Tapas fell short of my expectations. It truly was a pity because the menu seemed so enticing - just about everything sounded like it was going to be right up my alley. Alas, nearly every item that we ordered failed to impress.

The black bean hummus lacked flavor and was too thick to dip the pita or zucchini into. The chicken tacos barely had any of the avocado ranch or pico de gallo that was advertised. The Fried Spanish Cheese with the marinara was okay, but nothing memorable. The Jerk Chicken Wings did not pair well with the Avocado Ranch. The only tapas that we both enjoyed were the Spicy Chicken Egg Rolls - those were good (I particularly liked the spicy southwest sauce).

I really like the concept that Red Sky Tapas has going for it. The menu offers a wide variety of appealing options. However, the execution of these dishes leaves a lot to be desired. To me, it looked like lazy cooking. I truly believe that with a better trained chef, more attention to detail, and little more refinement, this place could be a lot more successful.

The food was actually quite elegant. My only complaint is that the tables shouldn't have been quite so close to each other. I spent the entire evening learning more than I ever wanted to about burial plots and who's in who's will than I did actually listening to my date!

At first I was afraid, I was petrified... that they put us right in front of the bathroom entrance. Then later I could not have been more appreciative of it because it got loud right after 9pm when the singing started.

Diving right into the food:

Lobster and Roasted Corn Dip: I seriously licked the bowl. This was crazy good and they gave generous chunks of lobster so I didn't have to dig much for one.

Black Bean Hummus and Pitas: The hummus was a bit on the salty side but the pitas and the diagonally sliced zucchini helped. The first batch of pita was so delicious, I even used that to dip into the lobster and roasted corn dip. The second batch was burnt so we didn't go any further with that... just saying.

White Cheese Pizza & Spinach and Artichoke Pizza: I couldn't decided between the two and we ended up with both, it's definitely worth it. I love that the white cheese pizza has portobello mushrooms, so it doesn't feel like you're eating meatless. The artichoke was a bit too stringy... but but I loved it so much, I didn't care. They used the pita as the crust so it was perfectly thin and not so heavy.

Lobster Mac & Cheese: The winner of the night. Chunks of lobsters and pieces of bacon in every bite makes me super happy. It wasn't too salty and it has just enough cheese to harmonize everything together. Yummy!!

Buffalo Calamari: It was not my favorite dish of the night. It was too salty and too soggy. But after using a fork to take off the batter, the calamari itself was pretty good. I liked the blue cheese dip... but I probably won't order this again.

Citrus Rib: The citrus glazed was spot on, but the rib itself was way too hard. I was expecting something more tender and meat off the bone but it was not like that. I don't recommend it.

As for drinks, we had mango mojito, pineapple mojito and red sangria. I didn't realized that I finished my sangria before the food came out, but I did and opted for a pineapple mojito. It wasn't so strong so I was able to inhale both with no problem - that may not be great for you alkies out there...

The atmosphere is really fun! People are casual and it's a great place for a group of friends to hang out. I'll definitely be back!

Had dinner here last night! Very nice place for a a relaxing dinner and conversation. Although it was Tuesday they had some acoustic music, a guy playing piano and guitar, who had a great voice. The food was delicious! Try the marinated ahi tuna and the plantains!

My husband's boss invited us for a night out at Red Sky. We had a lot of fun. We were seated right by the pianos. The music was loud, but not enough to hurt my ears, even though I was right next to a speaker. I appreciated that.

I agree with Heidi P.; I wish the place was just a -smidge- bigger. It's nice and intimate, but people started getting really into things after a few hours of drinking... a modestly sized dance floor would be a great addition if they had the room for it.

The food and drinks were good. I tried an amaretto sour, blueberry lemontini and "the architect" martini - a gin martini with cheese-stuffed olives. Our party ordered a wide variety of dishes, including the calamari (both buffalo and normal), white pizza, bacon-wrapped scallops, and several other dishes. Everything I tried was pretty good.

One last note: if you stop by on a Friday or Saturday night when the piano players are present, stay out of their line of sight if you're shy. They WILL mess with you (it's all in good fun, but if you're shy it can be embarrassing)! Also don't tell them if it's your birthday/anniversary/bachelorette party/etc... unless you wanna be dragged up to the piano and asked to sing!

I want to give it more stars, and wanted to love Red Sky, but like some others- we were greeted by the hostess who seemed annoyed that we didn't have a reservation. Yes, it was a Fri night but it was 5:00 pm and the place was dead empty. She gave us a table in the very back and told us we have until 8pm. (We asked for a better table, and were moved to the bar, which was nice.) Wow... What a great welcome for first timers. When the manager came around to ask how we were- we complimented the food and waitress, and I decided to mention the hostess' greeting. Instead of apologizing for how we were greeted, he defended her and told us you really need reservations on wkds. We were there with an out of town friend who was not impressed with the service. My husband later told me, I think that place is just too "busy" for us. Bummer. They could all use a little customer service training.

I am surprised that the reviews here are not higher.

If you can make it here on a night when there is live music, I can't imagine you'd be disappointed. Dueling pianos - even more fun.

The food is great. Perhaps some things are overpriced for the size (tapas usually equals small portions, but some may be better with smaller prices to match), but everything I've had is delish. The drinks are very reasonably priced as well and the service is great. I'd recommend this place to a friend in a heartbeat.

Is it a bad sign that on your 2nd visit to a place the waiter remembers you because of the amount of alcohol you ordered previously? Having been here twice, once for dueling pianos and once for a Yelp cocktail/ schmoozing event, I can say that I am a fan.

The food is pretty delish and the cocktails are my level of strong without being overkill. However, beware it is not inexpensive. I can recommend the blueberry lemontini (I prefer the not overly sweet cocktails), but be careful if you start ordering the shots as they are pricier than your usual bar.

This time around, we made our way around the Happy Hour menu. Obviously, I had to skip the Lobster & Roasted Corn Dip and Calamari (allergy reasons), but they were both a hit with the crowd. I thoroughly enjoyed the Fried Green Tomatoes with goat cheese and chipotle aioli - a great crunch with a nice little kick. The Fried Plantains with raspberry balsamic vinaigrette were yummy, but a little too mushy for my taste. My favorite was the Chicken and Black Bean Egg Rolls with chipotle aioli - I just could not get enough of them.

The wait-staff was attentive, mostly quick to clear the dead soldiers and drink orders were filled with speed. I will say that on a Saturday night, the turnaround is quite a bit longer - buyers beware.

If you are looking for great (and fun) entertainment, I highly recommend The Dueling Pianos on Friday and Saturday nights. You will need to make a reservation, especially for a large group.

They have a rotating roster of piano men, however I can recommend Atlanta's own Michael Renna. The night my friends and I went he was one of the two players and they put on quite the show. Be sure to tip (with cash and shots) your piano men, especially if you want to hear your favorite tunes. The perfect combination of music, comedy and drunken embarrassment of anyone celebrating a special occasion - fun times were had by all. Only my wallet had a hangover the next morning. Just ask my waiter.

Came here after dining at Seed. The manager/hostess reserved a high top table at the back of the bar which was perfect for holding a conversation while the dueling pianos performed. Our server was very attentive and offered a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary but we were too full to try one. The gesture was sincerely appreciated. Was an older crowd for us but we had fun anyway.

I was surprisingly happy with the evening at Red Sky. Both food and entertainment made for a good night. I was hesitant, as my only experience was for drinks and the dueling pianos college fight song ceremony threw me off my game.

WIth that being said, overall the food was very good. The dishes that we loved were the Lobster Mac, Guacamole, Show strings, Jerk Chicken wings, and Fish Tacos. OK dish was the Tuna. The dishes I wouldn't order again were the ribs(too much citrus), and Fried Green Tomatoes(too fried)

We ate outside which was nice as it wasn't that hot. The hostess was accommodating, and and waitress(Katie) provided great service. She was both attentive, and did it all with a smile.

The hostess then found us a high top for us to have a few drinks, while we enjoyed the dueling piano's .

Overall , fun night, and would definitely go back

The drinks and food at Red Sky are delicious. We tried the skirt steak tacos, pulled pork nachos, and jerk chicken wings. The steak tacos had the best flavor to me. The wings had a good flavor, but I wish the chicken was crisper. Overall, I like the place. What I did not like was that the place was extremely cold, I get it. It's Summer in Georgia but that was too much. Warmed up a little while eating and drinking but not much.

The thing that killed my visit was the bartender. I don't know her name but it was the girl with strait black hair. She was first not friendly at all for such a nice bar and on top of that was kind of ditzy. I wish she was not our server because last time I was there it was great but she ruined it for us.

We arrived for an early dinner without a reservation (never had to have one before) and the Hostess seemed a little flustered and acted like she was doing us a favor by seating us before the dinner rush. Then the waitress took a while to come with water and take drink orders. No mention of any specials and didn't make any recommendations when I asked. Another waiter shows up to take our order...the three small plates I ordered came at once and they brought my wife a salad several minutes later...hmmmm? She received both her small plates long after I was done. The food was very good and the service improved with each pass. We love the atmosphere and will be back! I will ALWAYS order the Tres-Leches for Dessert...so dang good!

Red Sky is such a cool suburb gem!
It is a piano bar so immediately know you its going to be loud but entertaining.

This is a tapas bar in a small strip mall. Tapas is basically snack sized or appetizer portions and the intention is for you to order multiple different items, usually to share. This is perfect for a piano bar where you are either with a drinking group or on a date, and you want to munch but not gorge and want something a little nicer than wings and fries. This, my friend, is when tapas fits the bill.
Go for the asparagus, calamari and fried green tomatoes!

Drinks are typical (full bar) and I like that you can sit on all four sides around the bar/bartenders! If you want the full piano bar effect, order a dry martini, put on your tightest sequined dress and slink on over to the top of the piano (disclaimer: I do not have the authority to give you permission to do this. The piano players may not approve... or maybe they will if you look that good!)

The only disappointment about this place is the size. I don't think it needs to quite double it's size (keep the intimate feel, please) but it is a bit tight and could stand a few more sq ft! That being said, the place is always packed - in a good way.

There is outdoor seating but again, proportionately smallish to the inside.
I like the lowlight atmosphere and the place is decorated tastefully smart.

Red Sky is a really efficient and successful combination of better-than-bar-food, drink and fun - Ask for Nicki and enjoy!

I heart this place! Me and a girlfriend tried this place out a few weeks ago for the first time and simply pigged out! The tapas are quite delicious. We tried the jerk chicken wings, calamari, shrimp and filet medallions, the citrus barbeque ribs, chips and guacamole dip, and the lobster and roasted corn dip. Yeah, I wasn't kidding when I said we pigged out! lol & We topped it off with a slice of Tres Leches cake for dessert.

Other things to note are they have someone playing tunes on the piano, which was cool, and the "dress code" is not necessarily dressy, but not your shorts and t-shirt type of place either. The crowd isn't very diverse, but that may be due to the location. Either way, I had a blast, the service was excellent, and my stomach was full by the time I left! lol

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking to find a spot for girls night out, for date night, and for solo adventures!

Love this place! The martini list is extensive and they are delicious. Great tapas too, especially the white pizza. The place is packed on a weekend night - great vibe and a fun night spot for East Cobb. The tres leches cake is unbelievable.
Always look forward to coming here! It can be pretty loud - better to come with a small group if you want to have a conversation. The dueling pianos are fun for a big group.

My husband and I decided to celebrate my 40th birthday at Red Sky last Saturday (6.16.12). The food and drinks were perfect, the service was outstanding, and the dueling pianos made for a fun evening.

The food was reasonably priced, and the quality was outstanding. Our server was on tops of things, even though the restaurant was packed. As soon as we finished a dish, one of the servers would remove it immediately. (This should be standard at restaurants, but that doesn't seem to be the case- and dirty dishes on my table is a HUGE pet peeve with me).

I don't have any complaints. We had a wonderful time! If you are looking for a quiet evening, keep looking. If you are looking for a living place filled with laughter, singing and clapping, then this is the place to be.

I've been a customer of Red Sky since they opened nearly four years ago. I was excited to see a hip, fun, restaurant for grown-up nights out without having to head to Perimeter or into the city.

Red Sky has been consistently good. The menu is updated fairly regularly, keeping popular staples and adding new innovations. I love that some of my favorite recipes have been adapted to be gluten-free. I've even used Red Sky to cater events, and they've been great to work with there, making spot on recommendations about the amount of food I would need for particular events and were reasonably priced on top of that.

The drink specials offer something fun and an inexpensive way to try new cocktails.

If you want to go on a weekend, especially for dueling pianos, I recommend making a reservation.

There's a good sized parking lot with Red Sky, so I've never had a problem finding a place to park.

I consider Red Sky my neighborhood "go-to" spot for a fun evening out.

We went there the first time last Saturday. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. While I made reservations several weeks ago the place is very popular so even with several weeks of lead time we did not have a view. That was not a major problem as we could still hear just fine.

We were mostly there to listen to the dueling pianos show so we ordered a couple of tapas, a couple beers and some wine. All were reasonably priced given that there was live entertainment and no cover charge.

Shortly after the show started the place really filled up but it was a good crowd and everyone was having a good time. Especially the Bachelorette party. They were REALLY having a good time.

The manager (maybe the owner) came over to see how everything was, that was a nice touch. He definitely seemed to care that we were having a good time. He told us they have acoustic guitar there during the week (Wed and Thurs) so we will probably go back one of those days to experience a more laid back environment.

Definitely a keeper, we will return.

One last thing, they need to stock Red Hare beers. A great local (Marietta) brewery.

Don't even think about coming here on a weekend without a reservation. We made one for 8:45 so we could get things ordered before the pianos started at 9. Since it was our first time they made sure to sit us by the pianos. Our table wasn't ready until about 9 or 9:15 but they let us know the reason which was nice.
I was able to get up to the crowded bar and order a drink in the meantime. They have a ton of exciting options and I can't wait to come back and try more. I had the Grape Crush and the Key Lime Pie drinks. Both were really good.

For food I had the Parmesan encrusted romaine heart with balsamic, the fillet medallions, szechuan chicken, and the good and evil chocolate mousse dessert. I think I liked the fillet medallions the least, but they still weren't bad. Also substituted avocado ranch instead of the blue cheese that comes with the chicken. Good decision.

My boyfriend and I were probably the youngest people there (mid-20's), but the crowd was very fun. There were lots of birthdays and the pianists did something unique for each birthday girl. They seemed to get to every request that people put in also. Never a dull moment. Can't wait to come back again.

Eclectic combination of small plates / drinks / people and dueling pianos! This place really shines in the evening. Outstanding menu of tapas and creative drinks with an impressive shot list to boot. Tapas really impress here as does the comical stylings of the dueling piano artists. Great for groups and normally packed in pretty tight. My only real gripe is with the cost as it is quite a bit more expensive than other similar tapas restaurants.

Come here if you are looking for a fun night out in East Cobb full of revelry, comedy, music, and entertainment. Stay away if you want an intimate, quiet dinner for 2!

I have frequented Red Sky on a few occasions over the past few years. Each time the food as been mediocre but acceptable for the price, and the martinis usually make up for the less than memorable food.

I arrived a few weeks ago with my boyfriend on a Friday night around 8PM. We did not have a reservation but we were in the East Cobb area and figured we would have a drink while waiting for a table to open up. Upon entering we were greeted politely and asked how many would be at our table. The place was pretty full but there was no one waiting and a few empty tables. After I told her two she made a face and said "Don't be mad at me!..but we are all full up for the evening." I apologized and asked her if we always needed to make reservations on Fridays and Saturdays and she said 'No'. I am really confused at this point and wanted to make sure I heard her right. "So, you do not need a reservation usually, but we need one now?"

We were not given the opportunity to wait so we went to Ritter's instead. Odd! Make a reservation!

To start... I would strongly recommend making reservations before coming here. They are on OpenTable (yay points!). The place was not busy when we got there around 6:30 on Friday night, but by about 9:00 when the dueling pianos were on, the place was packed.

Since we didn't have reservations (shame on us), we ended up on the patio, which is first come first serve. I really wish we could have heard the music on the patio.

The atmosphere of the place is a lot of fun.... very high energy and definitely worth coming back for.

The food was not that exceptional. It wasn't bad, but not great. There were a few solid dishes: the lobster dip was delicious, but the oversalted chips killed it for me. The braised beef nachos were ok. The fried zucchini were not that great and the fried green beans were really disappointing. They tasted only like batter. If I hadn't known what I ordered, I couldn't tell you what was in the massive coating of batter.

The service was really slow. They tried... it was Friday and it was busy, but we ended up resorting to ordering the next drink the minute the first one was ordered, because it would then actually get there by the time you finished the first one.

They have some really good drink specials (like the Pinnacle drinks for only $6). I loved the "Desperate Housewive"... yummy!!!

If I come here again, it will likely be for drinks only.

My wife and I were on our way to the Fuji Hana in the same shopping center when we decided to try here instead. All in all, we liked the place, but not necessarily enough (for me at least) to be dying to come back and try it again.

The biggest issue we had with the place was the service. The service wasn't bad -- our waiter was attentive, and one of the managers even came over to welcome us on our first visit. My real complaint is how fast the service was. After being pressured into ordering a few minutes after getting there, all of our food arrived no longer than five minutes after ordering. From parking the car to getting back in the car after dinner took less than 45 minutes. We were both looking forward to a nice relaxing evening out, but when the food gets there a few minutes after ordering, you don't have much choice but to finish dinner quickly and be on your way. I don't know if this is the case, but when your food comes out this quickly, it gives me the perception that a lot of this food is pre-prepared.

The food that we ordered (we had five dishes) ranged from great to mediocre. They have a wide selection of tapas to choose from, and pretty much all of it sounds great. In addition, I didn't think the prices were too bad -- everything we ordered came up to $40 or so. We ordered the marinated ahi tuna, the jerk chicken tacos, the bbq pork sliders, the crab cakes, and the bacon-wrapped scallops. As a sushi fan, the ahi tuna was a bit underwhelming; and the jerk chicken tacos has almost no flavor to them whatsoever. The crab cakes, scallops, and (especially) the pork sliders were all excellent. Each of those dishes packed quite a flavor and I would be happy having again.

Overall, some of the food was quite excellent; others, however, were just 'meh'. Couple that with the fact that food came out so quickly and it wasn't quite the experience I was hoping to have. Knowing this, I am inclined to give this place a second shot -- but I'd take a bit more time until ordering and be a bit more selective about what I did order.

Awesome Food, Great Atmosphere, Excellent Dueling Pianos *Friday and Saturday nights only, and Strong Drinks

Have taken groups several times now and had a blast every time. All of the food has been excellent. Some of the group favorites include: lobster and corn dip, fish tacos, flan, and the white pizza.

Dueling pianists take requests and do a great job interacting with the audience.

Great place to spend a Friday/Saturday night! The dueling piano show is great entertainment and works great for large groups. The players are talented and have a great sense of humor with the audience.

Then the food...awesome! Good variety to choose from. I'd recommend everything I ordered. Fried plantains, lobster mac, tilapia tacos, black bean hummus. Creative cocktails and fairly good beer/wine list.

The staff is great dealing with large tables and the tapas come out as they are ready and everything runs smoothly. This place is definitely worth the trip and I can't wait to go back again.

This place rocks! I really was craving tapas so we went to check out Red Sky. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised at the quality of the tapas and how good everything tasted! We went for the happy hour and it was pretty darn inexpensive for what we got in return.

The customer service was excellent and everything we tried was just "delish!"

My faves were the black bean hummus, roasted corn lobster dip, caribbean brushchetta, and tomatillo braised pork nachos!

I was recently informed that the $3 martinis are now $4, and Wednesday is now trivia night. Really, Red Sky? This might be worth a sad smiley face. I'm disappointed to say that the tapas has just gotten progressively worse in quality while increasing in price.

Sad smiley face, indeed.

OK...I've been to Red Sky maybe half a dozen times or so...and I love it! They have great drink specials ($3 martinis on Tuesday and Thursday) and their food is yummy and very reasonably priced.

Some favorite food items: Buffalo Calamari, Fried Manchego Cheese, and Tilapia Tacos. I've never had a food item there that wasn't good. Most have been great. And the martinis are delicious and fun.

Yes, the music is sometimes very loud. And, just like most popular restaurants, if you go on a busy night without a reservation...you will have to wait for a table.

Overall, I love going and have not yet been disappointed.

One thing Atlanta has been missing for a while is a dueling piano bar. I don't think we've had one since Jelly Rolls was around in Buckhead. After visiting some great dueling piano bars in various cities, I was so happy to hear that Red Sky has dueling pianos on weekends. But it is not only a dueling piano bar. It is also a Martini bar as well as a Tapas bar.

They have over 20 martinis for around $6. They also have sangria by the glass as well a huge selection of wines by the glass. Dueling pianos are on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 to midnight. You should definitely make reservations since the bar is small and it does get crowded on dueling pianos nights.

So, hows the food? Pretty good, actually. Hands down, my favorite was the Ahi tuna. It comes in a pineapple soy sauce and is out of this world good.

The plantains and crab cakes were excellent as well. I am always skeptical of ordering crab cakes when they seem to cheap to be good. But these were NOT full of breading as I had suspected they would be. The lobster rolls were ok, but I can't remember tasting much lobster in them.

I didn't care for the pizzas, calamari, or friend green tomatoes. The pizzas remind me of what you'd get at Chucky Cheese, the calamari didn't have much flavor to it and the fried green tomatoes (even with the aioli dipping sauce) were pretty bland.

There are drink specials every night except Friday and Saturday. Monday are Mojitos for 4 bucks and Tuesdays and Thursdays they have discounted martinis.

Although the performers are just okay, (they don't know a lot of songs) it is definitely entertaining. Free parking, no cover and free entertainment? Try to get that deal ITP.

Suffice it to say that i've frequented my fair share of Tapas joints having lived downtown for the last 4 years. So much so that repeating "Topless!?" with a confused, boyish, and excited look on my face has already grown weary with my fiance.

We were back in the burbs (i grew up in Scarietta) for the holidays and a friend suggested that our group go to Red Sky to have a get-together. Skeptical, as always, i rolled my eyes and thought, "Tapas in Marietta sounds like a restaurant with only an appetizers menu." At least it didn't end in "eys", "ees", "is", or "ays" (O'Charley's, Applebee's, Chilis, Frideees). That's a soapbox for a different review...

To get to the point the Tapas were actually very reasonably priced and quite honestly out-of-this-world tasty. I had the fried green tomatoes, caprese salad, the filet, and sampled the shrimp and wings. I also had too much to drink so i know i forgot something. Yay, Yeungling lager! Just know that everything was well up to snuff.

Soon after we arrived the dueling pianos began and the place turned into a sing-along (but not an obnoxiously loud singalong, to my delight). Basically, If you're in Marietta and want are looking for a non-chain, this is a great option. Take a group and request your favorite Elton John song while telling your out of town friends he's got a place downtown. I requested Buffalo Springfield and it was actually pretty awesome (and they were excited to get a less obvious request).

2 Stars for food, 2 stars for fun, missing the last star because the decor - sorry, ATL snob i guess - was pretty weak. I know keeping up with Concentrics is hard but this restaurant did everything else so good I think it's fair to expect more from them. The chinzy wall sconce on mirror is cheap, according to the "Adam School of Interior Design" (now accepting applicants despite not existing). Then again, Mike B reviewed before me and was pleased as pie with the ambiance so maybe I'm a know-nothing idiot.

PS - the dudes on the Piano are tons of fun but don't know everything under the sun so you may find yourself let down once or twice. Also, I'm not sure what nights they play so check out the website. Also again, there's a coupon on http://Restaurant.com right now that saved me $25. I love you http://Restaurant.com...now pay me for the free advertising or else! Just kidding, don't leave me! I need you!

PPS - why the hell aren't there more dueling piano bars?

After moving to the Atlanta area from the SF Bay, I was sure I was done with excellent tapas bars unless I returned. Then one day we got a flier int he flood of advertising mail everyone gets here that caught our eye. 10 bucks off at "Red Sky Tapas and Bar".

Tapas? Cool... Let's give it a shot.

This restaurant is located off Johnson's Ferry Road between upper and lower Roswell roads next to the ATL Bread company. You can't miss the sign out front. I suppose the atmosphere is the first thing that will arouse you... everything is hued in a shade of red (go figure) and there is a slight stage in the right corner with two pianos. Live entertainment happens here often with dueling pianos and local guitar talent. Check the web site for these details...

Now for the best part... the food.

I have yet to taste an item off the menu that wasn't awesome. In particular, the Parmesan Encrusted Romain Hearts with Raspberry Vinaigrette was a taste I have never had before. Imagine a savory, tangy plate of romaine that has been halved down the middle and placed on a hot grill prior to being dressed for serving. Your first bite provides an excellent taste of the grill with the bite of the vinaigrette and cold interior of the romaine hearts. Excellent! Another favorite of mine is the Lobster and Roasted Corn Dip along with the Grilled Jerked Wings with Avocado Ranch sauce.

Another favorite area of mine in a restaurant... the alcohol. :-)

Red Sky has an excellent variety of martinis to accompany a full service bar. The wine list, although not as large as it could be, offers excellent tasting wines at reasonable prices. Go here on a Wednesday or Sunday for half off the wine list (except for the Cakebread). Discounted martinis all the time...

Prices are very reasonable. With a date and a bottle of wine we sampled a half dozen tapas and enjoyed a dessert for around 70 bucks with tip.

I love this place!
