They have a long list of international beers and a pretty small (in comparison) selection of microbrews and local beers. Â We were the only people in the place for a while the evening we dropped in to check it out, though it was off-season so I don't expect that to always be the case. The bartender was pleasant and liked to talk about beer. Â We didn't eat anything, so can't say much about that, but the beer was solid.
Review Source:This is a decent little beer bar in the heart of Saint Augustines tourist trap zone. Â Not that great a selection of craft beer, but and amazingly deep Belgian collection. Â Thursday they do roll the dice for discounts after 8pm which is probably the best deal. Â They do have a decent cellar of bombers but I think the pricing is such that Thursday is the only day I'd consider one. Â The bartender is pretty knowledgable about the local beer scene and clued me into several Jacksonville Breweries.
Review Source:My favorite bar in St. Augustine. I always stop by a time or two or 5 when I'm in town, much to the dismay of my wife and my wallet. The beer selections kick ass, though some of them are pricey. While doing their world tour (a daunting task that took me a couple years to complete), I had most of the "Rare Beers" on the back of their menu. Yes, expensive, but they were some of the best beers I've ever had. The staff is always friendly and have no problems shooting the shit with you. Only slight complain is the live music is too loud, so I tend to go in there during the day hours when it's less crowded and quiet. I'll be heading back there next week to see if my name on the little brass plate has made it up on the wall yet!
Review Source:HUGE beer selection, with over 200 different choices from all over the world! This place is tucked deep at the end of a long hall of shops, so its easy to miss if you do not go to the very end. The location is nice because its not overly crowded like some of the bars directly on St. George St. This hidden jewel is so awesome we went back the next day! We had a different server both days and both were extremely knowledgeable of the beers and offered great recommendations when I was unsure of what to get next. Â After ordering a few 'fancy beers', we split a club sandwich, which was excellent! The server even split the sandwich and gave us an extra chip & pickle... I know thats not much but the gesture was defiantly appreciated (especially after the beers!)and makes you feel like your at a local bar in your hometown and not a tourist crazed town! If you appreciate a good beer at a chill place, or just want a cold one GO TO THIS BAR!
Review Source:Venturing around St. Augustine (easily the only vacation spot I have ever been where I literally planned only one thing 1 day ahead), we wanted to get another drink after visiting Meehan's. We were on Yelp, actually, poking around looking for something with yummy ciders and beers, and this came up. It was nearby, so we sat down.
Located at the end of one of the tucked away indoor shopping alleys (that's what i'm calling them, I guess) this bar is small but cozy. The bartender was nice and patient with us. The beer was fresh, good, and they had a great selection. I would say this is a great place to rest your legs and have a drink.
definitely wasn't expecting to see a craft beer bar with this sort of selection hidden in the tourist trap district. bartenders were very helpful, even as I cringed when ppl ordered mic ultras next to me. They change their draft selections often and offer a sample before you buy. Will be back my next time in town.
Review Source:Beer-topia near St George. When I saw the coolers next to the bar filled with tasty craft and microbrews, I was in love. My girl even found 2 or 3 different hard ciders to choose from. This is one of those rare places has multiple Grand Cru options to choose from! Very respectable cold beer selection. We didn't try the food, the beer was too darned good.
Review Source:We always stop at Rendezvous for Tangerine beer when we are in St. Augustine. Â They have over 200 different beers from all over the world so if you aren't into tangerines, they will surely have something you are into. Â The servers are aways helpful if you're wanting to try something new and the Live entertainment is wonderful as well. Â We stopped for 1 beer and ended up staying all night listening to the live music.
Review Source:This is a totally unexpected place, not least because it's located on St. Augustine's tiresome touristy shopping strip. It's tucked incongruously away at the end of a hallway full of T-shirt shops and hot sauce stands. It does not fit in at all, and that's really high praise. Somehow they pull off a friendly dive bar feel with tons of high-end beer. Our server was really knowledgeable on the brews and made great recommendations. This is a little slice of hop-laden heaven. This review is for beer only and not food.
Review Source:If you like beer this is a great little gem. I took a group of guys here to sample a wide variety of beers. I had one of the best Belgium Ales in my life here. It was Monster Bokrijks Belgium Ale. At $40 per bottle not cheap but it was Thursday night. Thursday's here are buy one get one free. Our bartender was absolutely awesome and extremely knowledgable.
Review Source:I had been wanting to stop in to this place for a while- I've heard numerous things from friends, but also on Yelp. As a beer lover, as soon as I heard about a place selling hundreds of different beers, I knew I would have to swing in here sometime. My girl and I recently went on a shopping / bar hopping trip to St. George Street, and we finally stopped in here to give it a try. It's a bit difficult to find if you don't know the area, but once you're here it's a lot of fun.
We got in and it wasn't too busy, and the bartender was very helpful in making our selections, and was a pretty knowledgeable guy. There are coolers upon coolers stocked with different foreign, domestic, and microbrew beers, and he knew a lot about all of them, offering up selections, tastes, and recommendations. Being a Sam Adams lover, I was psyched to see they had Rustic Saizon on tap!!!! Unfortunately, they only have about 4 beers on tap- good for me they had some Sam! Fortunately, of all the different bottled beers they have, they have lots of different glasses, and they serve the right glass with the right beer to make sure you get all of the flavor of your choice of beer.
It's a small place, but cool atmosphere, very chill, and a GREAT place to stop in if you're down on St. George Street shopping or hanging out. There's an area where they have live music play, and I heard they serve food, but I never saw a kitchen or menu. Bathrooms are also kind of small, so if it's busy, and there's a lot of beer drinking going down, you may have to wait in line for a bit.
Overall, I really enjoyed this place. A lot of fun, very chill, and tons of great beer available, served up by cool and knowledgeable bartenders. Prices are decent, and it's a fun place to hang. Will definitely be back.
Stopped in here for a drink and thought the place was OK. Â A little less touristy feeling than some other places in the area. Â They have a very extensive bottled beer selection, but not much on draft. Â The place is small and a little divey, but not in a bad way. Â The biggest down side of this place for me was that they really don't have wine and I'm a wine drinker more than a beer drinker. Â They had one bottle of cheap red wine the last time I was there. Â So after me and my friend had a beer, we left and headed to JP Henley's, which has a much better selection of wine and a good selection of beer. Â
The other thing about this place is that the live music tends to be what I like to call hippy-rock, which is someone playing acoustic guitar covers of bands like Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz and stuff like that. Â I'm not into it but if you are, hey enjoy.
My boyfriend likes his beer...and unique, international beers can sometimes be hard to find.
This little gem of a cafe in a gem of a city pleased us both. Â At first I wasn't too excited as I'm not a beer lover...but the cider selection was decent. Â I got a Strongbow and then took the bartender's suggestion and tried the framboise beer. Â It was pure sweet raspberries in a glass. Â
Laid back atmosphere and great selection of beer.
Stepped into this place after seeing it on Yelp. First thing I noticed was a crowd under 30, which is a HUGE relief living in a town mainly inhabited by old folks. They have a great beer selection and a cool vibe. I'd definitely go back to share a few import brews and good conversation.
Review Source:Regarding my visit 6/09:
Small Non-descript place. I was in here on a weekday late afternoon so the crowd was non existent. Not much character to the place, but you can't beat a gigantic beer list and friendly bartender. Can't comment on the food, but it was the perfect place for my dad and I to drop in and talk baseball. I'd like to see what it was like at night or on the weekend. Would definitely return.
The selection of bottled beers was great, with lots of Belgians and lots of hard to find local Florida/Carolina stuff... and the best part was that we were there on a Monday, when apparently everything in the cooler (which is most everything on the menu) was 50% off! Â We had probably six beers between two of us - Orval, Sam Smith Cider, a 22oz bottle of something from a brewery in Tampa, Maredsous, etc. - and our tab was $15 each. Â Not a bad deal at all and the bartender was a totally decent guy who wanted to talk about books and Belgian beer and played good music on the sound system. Â
Didn't try the food, so can't comment on that. Â But definitely worth a trip if you like beer!
A cool little out of the way place to stop and have a cold beer while wandering the streets of St Augustine that has a huge selection of beers from around the world. The coolers are stuffed with bottles, many of which I had never seen before. The only downside was when I looked at the bottles, like a special Christmas ale, all I could think of was like yeah, but what year? Â The staff was friendly and efficient.
Review Source:Some friends and I wandered into here after walking through St. Augustine one afternoon. It was a great place to stop and enjoy a beer as they have a big selection to choose from. Right before our group was ready to take off to do some more exploring, a band set up and started playing - the singer was doing an awesome job. I can't comment on the food as we were there primarily to enjoy some beer and conversation.
Review Source:I haven't had the food here, but this is a tiny hole-in-the-wall bar at the end of one of the tiny strip malls in the Saint Georges Street section of Saint Augustine. If you're a beer fan, and are in Saint Augustine, you MUST go here. They have a very large and eclectic selection of beers that you can enjoy at the bar, or take home with you.
