We came here for their 10 for 10 deal, ten 4oz samplers for ten bucks. It's a blind test taste that, for self-affirmed beer snobs is a great deal of fun. The snacks are nothing special, but they've got a great selection of craft beers with descent prices. If you like to try new beers, it's worth it coming out here.
Review Source:I agree that the food and decor are nothing to write home about, but no matter what Groupon says, this isn't a restaurant. It's a beer bar, and a very good one. The selection is great, the prices are very reasonable, and the bartenders know a lot about the beer they are serving.
On Sundays they have a 10-for-$10 taste testing, and the winning beer is the $3 special for the coming week. It's a friendly atmosphere - football on the TV, jeans and sweatshirt attire, and a relaxed crowd. It's a great place to go for a few pints on a quiet evening, and that's what it was obviously designed to be.
Great place to have quality beer. They have a huge selection of craft beers plus a few domestics for the non-adventurous. The food is good and they have a pretty big menu for a bar. Service is top-notch.
We went on Trivia night - entry was free and we won a $25 gift certificate! Lots of fun. I guess I'm a regular now!
More like Rhode Island Failhouse.
We purchased a Groupon and decided to check this place out.
First impression: You walk into what looks like a dive-y liquor store, and you're greeted with a pool table. You can't even see the bar (or patrons) from the front door. Not the best layout, decor, or first impression.
Service: The bartender/server was less than enthusiastic. We had to ASK for napkins, and we never received plates or silverware. I can't even stress how lackluster the service was.
Food: Not that we expected much from "pub fare", but this was grossly underwhelming. Here's what we ate (some of):
1. "Not"chos - Tostitos chips with Pace Picante salsa, 12 dollops of sour cream and some melted non-descript cheese. The only pro here was that the cheese was melted.
2. Jalepeno Floppers - These clearly came straight from the Stop & Shop freezer clearance section. We took one bite and just left it at that. Â
3. French Fries - These were actually pretty decent (hence the 1 star). Seemed hand-cut, but weren't as crispy as you'd expect.
4. Mozzarella Sticks - The actual sticks weren't bad. Again, straight out of the frozen food section. The "marinara" sauce was straight up Hunt's tomato paste. No joke. With the bevy of good italian places in Johnston, you would think they know good mariana sauce. Apparently not. Â
5. "Buffalo" Chicken Tenders - Actual white meat chicken, but the buffalo sauce was more like Lazy-mans buffalo sauce (read: Red Hot and not much else). Pretty gross. Â
Beer: This is probably the only saving grace. The selection is decent with a good amount of craft beers to choose from.
Pricing: This is where the "FAILHOUSE" really  shines (note the sarcasm). The "Not"chos cost almost $8. I could have made them better myself for 1/2 the price.
Overall: Do not waste your time or money here... Not even with a Groupon. You can get better 'pub fare' at the 99.
