My husband and I decided to try this restaurant after searching for a tasty Mexican place in Aurora. Â We had no luck at On The Border or Friaco's, so we were getting frustrated. Â Yelp led us to this unassuming eatery in a small strip mall.
First tip: GO EARLY or wait a long time standing by the front door. Â We arrived around 5:45 pm on Saturday, and there were about 3 tables open. Â If we had come after 6, we'd have waited a long time. Â
Second tip: GET A MARGARITA! Â Now, I did not have one myself since I'm pregnant (Grrr......) but we kept seeing trays and trays of them head past our table. Â I had major alcohol envy. Â After this baby is born, I am definitely heading back and getting me a nice, huge margarita on the rocks. Â
Food quality and taste were much better than On The Border. Â We had the queso appetizer special which came with peppers and tortillas, chicken flautas, and the Rito's combination dinner. Â Plenty of food for both of us plus extras for leftovers. Â Although the beans and rice were nothing to write home about, the flautas were crispy and tasty. Â Their house salsa is spicier than most places, which I enjoyed. Â The tortilla chips almost tasted like Fritos - heavier than normal, and darker in color.
Finally, the reason we couldn't rate it 5 stars was that the service was a little slow. Â Although we were seated promptly. it took a long time to order our drinks, and the water refill frequency was inconsistent. Â We wondered if maybe they were under staffed for a Saturday.
My husband and I were introduced to Rito's couple of years by some friends and we love it!!  The food is always delicious.  If you like guacamole be sure to try the "Guacamole Kid's" fresh customized guac  table side.  More delicious guacamole is hard to come by.  My favorite dish is the quesadilla  i love that they will add anything I want to it and they don't skimp on the filling. My girlfriends and I go there on $3 margarita night and you must try the mango!  So yummy and with a kick that you will appreciate!  they definitely don't skimp on the booze! .  Rito, makes a point of saying hello and remembers our name and what we are drinking!  .  If you like Mexican food, don't miss this place!
