Rococo's made for a rad date night for me & the wife. Reservations were crazy easy (and not really necessary on a Thursday night). The guy even had our table setup when we arrived.
The market rate for the crabcakes was $17 that night, and I honestly regret not ordering them from the passionately detailed stories I've heard. We ordered some smoked salmon cookies (holy cow), a basic salad, cup of mushroom soup, and two pasta dishes. All the food we ordered bested our expectations.
The only black-eye for the meal was our server. Friendly & helpful, but difficult to find when we needed to order or to refill our drinks. But by no means will that experience keep us from going back.
Lovely little place for an intimate date. ;) Low lighting, candles, and fresh roses for every table. I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, (I can only afford to go occasionally) but what I have ordered has been super delicious. If I ever had any questions about the menu the server has always either known or quickly found the answer. If it's fancy date night... this is my place of choice.
Review Source:The food here is divine. This is a place where I always get seafood (which takes a high level of trust around here) and I'm always amazed at how good it is. It will break the bank, though, so I usually eat here when my parents visit town :) The bar has a nice atmosphere also, if you just want to hang out. This place is so much better than it looks from outside.
Review Source:We've been to Rococo a number of times, and this is the only time we've had a bad experience. The restaurant was nearly empty and we were practically ignored. Thought we should've had some bread during our wait or an offer for more wine, but nothing. The food was very good, so that brought us back from a totally disappointing experience.
We appreciate how the owners are so responsive on social media and seem like really nice people. We will be back though!
My boyfriend and I come here often and the food is usually amazing! I usually get the escargots, seaweed salad, and the scallop and mushroom risotto. My honey almost always gets the clam chowder which is the best in the city, crab cakes, and a pasta dish. We have never had any problems however, last time we decided to order something out of our norm and he had a meaty pasta like dish in which his food came out cold and I ordered the vegetable lasagna which was pretty good, but was also cold in the middle and the cheese was dried out from being cold. We didn't complain of course and the food was more than edible still. I hear this place isn't consistent from my other friends, but out of the 6 or 7 times I have been here I've only had one not so perfect meal so, I'm still a huge fan of this place!
Review Source:Based on a referral by a local interior designer, two friends and I took a chance on Rococco. Â They are from Texas and I'm from Colorado, so this was new to us.
What a treat! Â Our server, Jackie, was this cute, sweet and fun person who really knew the menu inside and out. Â So refreshing to have someone who actually knows what the kitchen is cooking, especially such an involved menu as this. Â We had many questions, and Jackie was patient with us and answered each questions in detail and with precision. Â
The menu has so many wonderful options: Â pasta dishes, seafood, and meats such as veal, chicken, pork and duck; "cookies' that are actually like bruchetta and very tasty; and a healthy wine list that isn't overly priced. Â And speaking of the wine, some (maybe the owner or general manager) came over to give us great advice based on what we were looking for.
We had everything - appetizers, salads, main courses, dessert, wine, coffee and mixed drinks. Â Everything, and I mean everything, was exceptional. Â Each course came in a timely manner (not too quickly, not too late) and all of it was exquisite. Â
Outstanding food and service without pretentiousness. Â Plus, it was quiet! Â Most restaurants these days are so loud you can't have a conversation, but Rococco has a great peace within.
We had the stuffed porkchop, linguine with clams and shrimp scampi. Â All were outstanding. Â Caesar salad is homemade (with an anchovy on top to prove it), "cookies' were a great light appetizer, and chocolate pudding cake was not overly heavy. Â
This is the longest Yelp review I've written because this place deserves it. Â Don't be fooled by the location. Â Slip inside and enjoy their red table clothes and Sinatra tunes. Â Ask for Jackie and let her lull you into a savory dish or two with her in-depth knowledge and obvious passion, and be sure to tip her well.
I did it all for the cookies...the cookies!
I love this place. I love the location because the 23rd and Penn area needed a great restaurant, and I love them for plunking it down in a not wonderful couple of blocks, and just going for it. This was formerly home to one of my fave old throwbacks: Tony's Italian Specialties. When the owners got a hold of it, the story goes it was in pretty bad shape, but now it is a sight to behold. Rococo now boasts a beautiful long bar, sexy lighting, and of course, the fireplace lounge. The second area is less lovely, but provides for ample seating. I just always feel like it is too bright in that room compared to the sultriness of the main space.
Here's how to order at Rococo: Share. Go with as many people as you can and share as many dishes as you can. And yes, the sides are ala carte, but in Italian I think that means family style, if the size of the portions are any indicator. If you're sharing a few entrees and a few sides, it makes great sense. If you like seafood, you'll be very pleased with this menu.
The other standouts on this menu are the aforementioned "cookies", chef and owner Bruce's signature dish at Rococo. These are actually slices of Italian bread with savory toppings. There are six cookies on the menu. In an ideal world, you could order all six. But, if you have to pick, at least you know you can't go wrong.
Bonus points: Always a great wine list, and every time I turn around they are doing something to help out the local community.
Definitely over-priced for the quality of food. Â We got some drinks and the cheese plate. Wine and port were very expensive. I live now in San Francisco and can tell you that I've never paid that much for a great drink. Â Nor would the cheese plate be so underwhelming. Â The cheese was good but the bread tasted like it was bought from the Homeland bakery. Â
It happened to be ladies night and I was with my sister, so I don't know if the waiter thought we were there because we wanted to pick up guys (we don't - we're both married), but he hovered all night, stopping by every time he passed our table to talk about something inane. We were trying to have some sister time to catch up and I didn't appreciate the interruptions.
The live music was nice.
It was cold and dark when we left work and all we wanted was some cozy place with great food and a fireplace. I googled "fireplace restaurant OKC" and Rococo popped up, and boy am I glad we went there!
The atmosphere is quiet and very cozy. The menu is very creative and provided a lot of variety. Unexpected touches of asian influence amidst the Italian & American dishes. Entrees ran from $17-$45 so a pretty big range.
I had the Fisherman's stew which was loaded up with really nice fresh & meaty seafood. The broth was really very flavorful and everything was cooked to a nice tenderness. I really really enjoyed this dish.
My friends go the stuffed pork chop & coriander crusted salmon. Both were excellent. The side dishes of mushroom risotto & grilled eggplant & squash were also great!
I would definitely come back here again!
I will be back.....
The atmosphere here at Rococo is great; good mix of people of all ages. The decor is beautiful (lots of reds, and fleur de lis...modern and classy New Orleans vibe)...but most importantly, the food was amazing!
They have lots of stations set up, all you can eat buffet style. Custom made omelets (unique toppings included crawfish and avocado) and LIFE CHANGING waffles await you at this venue every Sunday starting at 10am. Â Seriously, this waffle (which I topped with fresh cream and a berry compote) was the best I have EVER. HAD. In my life. It was crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside. It was huge, but wasn't super doughy and didn't weigh me down. I am inspired to buy a really nice waffle maker, which is certainly cheaper than going to Rococo everyday or moving to Belgium in order to enjoy this treat over and over again. OH! I almost forgot........ $2 mimosas! I had... well, a lot of them.
The owner of Rococo was walking around ensuring everyone was well taken care of, he was one of those people you are immediately drawn to and like. He also wore pants that had red chili peppers on them so he earns points in my book. So, aside from his awesomely tacky attire, he's very much doing something right in providing unlimited upscale-ish fare at a pretty reasonable price. Â The words "buffet", "fresh" and "quality" usually do not go together in the same sentence, but at Rococo's, it definitely does.
Went to the North Park location and it was really great. Â Pasta was amazing and so was the Love Salad! Â Great place with fun atmoshphere. Â Was busy but not noisy. Â Had a nice weekend entertainer. Â We will be back -- plan to try the Sunday Buffet which we have heard is great as well.
Review Source:Outrageously expensive for what we had. Â Everything was fine. Â Not great, just fine. Â And for fine, I expect to pay less than $50 per person. Â
There was nothing really wrong with our meal, but nothing memorable or outstanding either. Â Extensive martini list, but they are all variations on typical shot bar sorority drinks. Â Nothing modern or clever or even not-sweet. Our appetizers were fine, but standard. Â Our pate was served with a chopped fried egg. Â Really? Â Is that a sub for hard boiled now?
The calamari was fine. Â Very standard. Â The very typical marinara sauce came out about 10 minutes after the squid. Â Oops.
Over half our party ordered the special. Â Now, the price range for entrees here was $20 - $30 or so. Â The special was $53.00. Â Imagine my surprise when I got the check. Â Um, maybe mention that the special is twice as much as the standard menu item?
I had a salad with shrimp - it had obviously been dressed a good 5 or 10 minutes before it was served. The greens were soggy. Â The special was steak with crab stuffed shrimp. Good, but not anything you couldn't find on any other menu anywhere. Â A couple people had pasta - things like linguini with clam or spaghetti with sausage. Â Not thrills, no risks; satisfying standard fare, but at luxury prices. But there was nothing luxe about the meal. Our waitress brought out our apps then took our entree order. Â Weird timing like that all night, and no bus service, etc. Â Given the very low volume, it makes sense to have a tiny staff, but not at these prices.
We all liked our dinner, but there was no raving, nothing surprising, nothing unusual or bold. Â Look around Rococo. Â High end is inventive and bold. Â This seemed like well prepared food that still resembled the standard Sysco inspired menu - predictable and dull.
Also, we were there for 4 hours and I can tell you that we were one of 3 or 4 tables, max, seated all night. Â So I'm thinking I'm not alone in my complete and total "meh" for this place.
This was actually the second time I've eaten brunch there but it was so horrible I will not be going back period. Â My friend and I arrived to a empty restaurant but it still took 15 minutes for the server to bring menus, 10 minutes later he came back for the order 30 minutes later we got our food, the waiter never came back to the table after taking our order. Â The food was good, the mini pizza bites were clever but ugly. Â The food at least kept me from walking out. Â Bear in mind there was one other table with people at it and their server seemed prompt and normal. Â Paying the bill was literally a trial first I wandered both rooms looking for a staff member to bring me a check, than waited till someone else came out of the back to hand them my card I felt like I could have walked out and no one would have noticed. Â
This is the complete opposite of my first visit but I don't feel like wasting my money to get that angry again.  Eat there at your own risk.
I wish I could afford to hit Rococo more often. Bruce, the owner, is a great host and an unbelievable chef. I've not had better seafood in OKC, or in many other places, to be honest with you.
I typically order up a couple of "cookies" which are slices of baguette with interesting toppings. Order up a few of those, a crab cake or two and some sides with each person ordering an entrée.
While I don't see many people doing it, "family style" is the way to go here. You'll want to taste a bit of everything.
i've been to rococo once for dinner and once for lunch.  the dinner was okay, but thought the lunch was pretty bad.  i ordered the bouliabasse and  was very disappointed.  i was expected a flavorful broth, but what a got was basically chicken stock and chunks of canned tomato with various chunks of seafood.  will not be returning for food, but the place does have a nice vibe.  might be fun to come here for drinks and appetizers.
Review Source:I love Rococo! Â Their food is fabulous, if terribly fattening. Â The menu is huge, with nearly one whole page of appetizers, including various "cookies." Â If I order an entree, I normally take half of it home, because the servings are large. Â Their pasta dishes are just fabulous - I have a friend who consistently craves their pesto and drives from Norman to get it. Â And they have a great salad with prosciutto and fruit that I've unsuccessfully attempted to re-create at home. Â
They have a great wine list, and the martinis are excellent as well.
Service is good. Â There's one waitress in particular who always remembers me and says hello, remembers the wine I drink, etc., and I only go in once a month at the most. Â Very nice!
