You know those places that were sofa king amazing back in high school?
Late nights drinking cheap coffee, eating a cheap meal, smoking cheap ($3.50 a pack) cigarettes and trying to look and act as cool as possible because you're always waiting for 'that one girl from so-n-so's class' to walk in...
Whelp... it ain't that place anymore. Non-Smoking, everything's way more expensive and that one girl from so-n-so's class is now the reason you duck down in your booth.
Two people, $26.00 + tip. For the love of Chuck Norris!
2 coffee's
1 Biscuits and Gravy (tasted like paste) with scrambled cheesy eggs.
FYI - Cheese is $1 extra, who charges A DOLLAR for cheese!?
1 Short Stack of pancakes with eggs and hash browns.
Things have really changed in the last ahem... X - XV years. Maybe I'm trying to re-live my wild child years... maybe I put this place on a pedestal...
I remember going in with $10 in my pocket and it'd cover a full meal AND tip. Now you'd be lucky to get a pop and a burger a la carte for that.
But still, it IS Round The Clock. They've got a varied menu and you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner at any point in its 24 open hours a day. Service has always been pretty good and the food has always come out pretty quickly, none of this waiting around forever stuff.
I don't LOVE this place so much as I did years back, but I still want to visit once in a while.
I have been to round the clock many times and the one thing i have to say about it is do not get biscuits and gravy, that is not there specialty. I really like the steak an eggs, Its an overall good meal. The service is usually good food is very fast. The best time to go in is in the afternoon because it is packed out the door usually on a sunday morning. After all my dine ins at round the clock i would say it is a decent place. They also have very good pies in behind the counter. My personal favorite was the carrot pie with ice cream. They have just as good desert as they do diner, breakfast, lunch.
Also this place is one of my favorites because it is open 24 hours. If you're hungry at 3 Â in the morning then round the clock is there for you. I would highly suggest round the clock to anyone great place to bring the family and also fantastic food.
I recently went to this restaurant with my mom and a good friend of mine...having gone here before for brunch, I figured the food would be decent. Â It was and for around $10, I got a Panini (turkey & cheese), soup (lemon rice...very good), fries, and choice of dessert...it was very good and filling. Â My mom had the Pepper Steak special with salad (they served the pepper steak in a big bowl and she ended up taking some of it home) , and my friend had the ham and cheese panini with salad as well. Â Everyone left filled up and satisfied.
Great place to go when you don't know what you want and don't want to spend a lot of money.
Round the Clock in Schererville offers good, wholesome food 24 hours a day. Review Source:This is a convenient little diner that has everything you could want on the menu and they give you a lot of food! Last week, on the way to visit friends in the area, I stopped for some food to go. I ordered a Greek salad and was told that the $8.95 price comes with soup, rolls and dessert! I didn't get any soup (too messy) but they gave me 5-6 rolls with butter in its own bag and a huge cup of rice pudding. Yum! I wish they used real whipped cream and more natural ingredients, but this is such a good value for the money. I love Greek-owned places because they really do care about customer service. I'll definitely be back!
Review Source:The service is not bad and the food is not that bad, either. Â However, for the price there are far better values in the area. Â It's WAAAY over-priced, but at 2 am, I know how people do not want to venture too far. Â If you do want to drive a little bit for a better value, go North on US 41 to Top Notch or The Steer. Paragon, which is west on 30 is also open, but it is not the best place around either. Â For breakfast, I like to try new places, so I stopped by the Omelette House which is directly south on US41 and Rt 30. Â It's a great value, with great food. Â I do like Round the Clock, I just feel like it is over-priced.
Review Source:We wander out to Indiana every so often and we end up at this place when we are in the area.. good food, clean dining area, good customer service. SOLID but nothing special. Â Food is solid and reliable no matter when you go..
I have had ribs mostly, but chicken was good too.. sides were also good.
If I lived closer I might try it more often for other items
I can't help it, I still love this place and I have to come back every time I'm in the area. I would do an embarrassing number of things just to get some lemon rice soup like theirs around here. I love a lot of their food. My faves are their cherry crepes, burgers, and fries. I think you get a lot for your money here and it's a nice place to chill and see some old friendly faces.
Review Source:recently remodeled, Round the Clock on Route 30 in Schererville offers your typical diner experience in a country-themed environment. Â the exposed wooden pillars and knick knacks that adorn the walls reflect the "new" abiance. Â
despite the new look the food is what you'd expect from a typical diner: greasy and good. Â being open 24 hours fills this place with the older crowd in mornings and the teeniebopper crowd late in the evenings (you've been warned).
service is typically decent; i have but a handful of complaints after going there for years. Â during lunchtime, the level of service seems to vary. Â otherwise, Round the Clock is a local institution that has stood the test of time and looks to be around for some time to come.
Aside  from when there was this waiter working there that looked like Dick Van Dyke, I've never cared for this particular Round the Clock much. The Highland restaurant is far superior. I mean this place isn't bad, but it's just not that great either. If you aren't preppy, you might feel out of place here.  They always seem in a hurry to rush you out the door, so I've never felt comfortable drinking coffee there.
