I enjoy coming here on Friday nights for some tropical drinks, city views and of course their fresh seafood. On busy nights, parking can be unpleasant even with their valet service due the small lot. Ceviche trio, mejillones enchilado (mussels) and whole red snapper are al good choices. They also have a great tapas platters with imported Serrano ham and cheeses. Sangrias are just ok. I would stick with their selection of house drinks.
Review Source:I love Sabor Latin. Â I've been here on multiple occasions for both dinner and dancing/drinks and always leave happy. Â
On my most recent dinner here with a group of friends, we went for a late dinner around 9:30. Â We started off with a bunch of different appetizers for the table- albondigas, guacamole sampler and empanadas trio. Â The shredded beef empanada was delicious. Â Everything was devoured. Â As entrees I split the churrasco with my boyfriend- we've tried the churrasco at a number of different latin restaurants in central and northern NJ and this place is one of the few that nails it. Â Tender, flavorful and HUGE. Â My friends ordered the salmon and love it there- so they excel in a few different areas. Â Drinks are also great- my friend had a "sangriatini" which was a martini that tasted just like sangria. Â
After ten the tables start being pushed aside to clear the floor for dancing if you're interested in staying to dance (but you never feel kicked out if you're still eating- the service here is very attentive until the end).
The great food and service always has me driving the extra distance :)
Celebrated my Fiancée's birthday on 7/13, a party of eight.  We had a fabulous time, the food and the service was excellent.  After a certain time the restaurant turns into a mini club and the DJ was spinning some great music to dance off the food the rest of the night.  If you like good food and beautiful people this is the place.
Review Source:A fun atmosphere, great food, and drinks. With music and dancing on weekend nights this is a staple venue in the area.
The guacamole with chips and the San Juan sangria are absolute musts. Most of the tapas are really great, the only I'm not a fan of is their ceviche trio. Empanadas trio and abondigados are great. The brunch menu is even better though. You really can't go wrong with anything on the brunch menu. The eggs with chorizo and steak are my faves there.
I'm a New Yorker so my trips to the foreign land of New Jersey are few and far between. My boyfriend is a NJ-native and claimed that Sabor Latino Bistro's tapas were comparable to those in the city and would satisfy my "exquisitely trained" (self-proclaimed, of course) palate for guacamole, empanadas, ceviche, and platanos. Needless to say, I was not disappointed.
We started off with the Chino Latino ribs, Pernil Napoleon, and Ceviche Trio. The Chino Latino ribs fell right off the bone! The marinade was like the mesquite bbq that we are all too familiar with. The dish came with 5 pieces of ribs, so if you're not a big party of at least 4 people, it will be a very heavy appetizer to finish before entrees. The Pernil Napoleon is a braised pulled pork sandwiched in between layers of toasted/fried plantains. I believe there were 3 layers, kinda like a Neapolitan ice-cream. The Ceviche Trio was fresh- Salmon ceviche, lobster ceviche, and shrimp ceviche.
For entrees, we ordered the Salmon a la Parilla, Churrasco (only because it would be easier to share among the 6 of us), and the Peruvian chicken. The salmon was cooked perfectly and paired well with the beet. The Churrasco was beautiful! It was a hit! The Peruvian chicken was amazing too, comparable, if not better than that of Pio Pio's! Yes, DARE I SAY!
It is a casual yet romantic restaurant. There were lots of couples in club wear. But we were not uncomfortable dressed in jean shorts and tanks. The service is impeccable as well.
Oh, and we saw a Ferrari drive up into the parking lot as we were leaving- if that's any incentive for the dubious!
Good food, great ambiance! The empanadas aren't great, but the guac with plantains for a starter and the skirt steak for dinner won't disappoint. Â Tapas are pretty small, but you don't leave hungry. Â The bar area is pretty small considering it turns into a pretty packed lounge on weekends. A fun place to go to with a group or on a date.
Review Source:First off I love the vibe of the place. Very clean and fun to be at. My party and I sat outside to enjoy some nice weather. The service was not great but since it was nice who cares. Gave time to soak in weather. The food was very good. It was different compared to other places I have been and recommend it.
Review Source:We made reservations through the website a few days in advance. Very easy, and we got a confirmation email a day later.
When you drive into the lot, they have valet parking immediately. Always nice because parking in a tiny lot, or having to find another lot when the first lot is full stinks Â
About the food....
To start we had the avocado mash & plantain chips...it was only okay. The presentation was nice, but the chips were wrong for the guacamole. Regular tortilla chips would have been better, although it would have lost the presentation. The guacamole was good, but we have had better.
For the main course, we had the Anticucho. The skirt steak was overcooked, the chicken and shrimp were cooked just right, and the corn with the salsa was wonderful and was really tasty.
For desert, we had olivia's favorite. It was just right with the sweetness, and worked well with the ice cream.
For drinks, she had an apple martini, which was too strong. We had to let it water down which made it slightly more tolerable. I think it was strong too. I had a mojito....it too was only okay. Â
On service....
Service was great, they were very attentive and came to the table often to check on things, and bring food.
On atmosphere:
We ate inside during the winter in the late evening. Inside it is very dimly lit, and the tables are close together. We sat at a table for two directly across each other on the main floor and the place was packed already. It gets so loud in there you need to yell just to talk to the person sitting across the table. If you are looking for an intimate quiet dinner, this is not the place.
Overall.....
Food was good, but we have had much better from other local restaurants. Our biggest gripe about this restaurant was how loud it was. We could not hear each other talking directly across the table. It was supposed to be a romantic evening, and in this case, it was anything but., and this really changed the mood of the night for us. The bill came to $90 with tip for two people that shared one appetizer, one entree, one desert, and two drinks. You can easily get better, more authentic Spanish food for much less if you drive up the hill out of edgewater.
Watch out of going to tapas route here... what is seeming like a small amount of food ends up being a very heavy meal. I came here with 5 others with an 8:30 reservation and we were seated immediately.
We started off with some of the tequila sangria, which was good, but the tequila was not a subtle addition to the drink. They bring out some nice warm, crusty bread with a garlicky, almost like a thin hummus type spread. Really nice.
We ordered a bunch of food for the table and to share:
Empanada Trio - came with chicken, steak, and seafood empanadas... can't really say any of them did anything for me.
Sabor Tower - comes with plantains, guac, ribs, and empanadas. The ribs were the star of the dish here... they were tender and fall off the bone delicious.
Steak Tacos - these were really excellent. The steak was tender and delicious. Get these.
Crab Croquettes - well, let me put it like this. I don't remember anything about this one beyond that we had it.
Fried Oysters - these were interesting... crispy oysters with a yuka mash served in the shell. These were good.
My main issue here was the service. With a 8:30 reservation, food did not come out until nearly 10:30. Granted, it was a Saturday night and every seat in the house was filled, but is that really an excuse?
Also, this was strange... our waiter came to us at 9:45 to tell us they were out of oysters and to ask if we wanted something else. No big deal, it happens. When the food shows up, somehow, there is a plate of the fried oysters. No explanation.
Overall, the food was good, but not great across the board, and the service was pretty slow. It's worth checking this place out, but I'm not entirely sure it's worth coming back.

I had a phenomenal meal at Sabor last week with my wife and honestly did not expect to find such a great meal outside of Manhattan or Hoboken. Â The restaurant looks great inside and is warm and inviting and with hints of Latin accents. Â We happened to go early around 6:30pm so had plenty of attention from the wait staff but they do get really really busy by 8pm so plan accordingly.
I had the Ropa Vieja entree and it was delicious and the best I've had and comparable to the level of this dish that you'd find on Calle Ocho in Miami. Â I will have to note that Sabor does Nuevo Latin cuisine so it's Latin fine dining and not necessarily traditional Latin dishes. Â I found their version of Ropa Vieja very refreshing and the beef soft, juicy and extremely well made.
My wife had the Pargo Frito which is a whole red snapper on a bed of watercress and that likewise was very delicious. Â I don't have a lot of faith in restaurants when it comes to making a fish dish really pop but they certainly delivered at Sabor. Â We probably haven't had such a good fish entree outside of Aquagrill (in Manhattan) or Xavier's (in Piermont, NY).
We also had a side of Yucca fries which was likewise a delight and finished off our meal with a delicious Tres Leches cake.
Absolutely, great place and I highly recommend it but the space is not humongous so if you go without reservations late then expect to wait.
Do not plan a surprise birthday party here! We had reservations for 14 for 9 pm on a Sat. Night. Â All but 4 guests had arrived by 9 pm. Â At 9:30 the table was not ready. The guest of honor arrived and the surprise was ruined. Â I understand things happens; however, the manager/owner was unapologetic about the situation and actually said it was our fault because not all 14 guests had arrived at 9 pm....when I know in fact that they simply did not have the table ready due to "lingering customers at our reserved table"....per the hostess. Â To top it off, we had brought a 6 pack of non-alcoholic beers for the guest as he does not drink alcohol and after three drinks they could not find the other three. For this kind of money, you would be better off going to Son Cubano down the street where your business will be appreciated.
On another note, I have always enjoyed their brunch on Sundays; however, I will need to get over this past experience before I want to go back....
First, the positives: Phenomenal food. Â I started off with the plantain chips and guacamole to share. The skirt steak and the scallops dishes are both amazing. Sabor has free valet parking and coat check, which are nice attributes.
Now, the drawback and why I did not give the restaurant five stars: While I appreciate good service, and I understand that restaurants like to turn tables a bit quicker than normal during busy weekend hours, this was a bit much. Â Our entrees came out after our appetizer had only been at our table for 3 minutes, and my friend's wine glass was taken before she was finished. Â In total, I think our entire meal start to finish lasted about 50 minutes. Â When I am at a fine dining establishment, I like to take my time and enjoy the dinner. Â If I am paying $32 for my entree alone, I do not want to feel rushed. If I was coming to a restaurant simply to eat and leave, I'd go to a diner.
I will be back, because the food is excellent. Â I just hope nexttime I don't feel so rushed.
I was here one about 5 years ago and remember it being pretty good. Â It had been on my list of places to go back to for quite some time. Â One snowny Friday night we decided to eat out locally, so Sabor was our choice.
About an hour before we showed up (7:30PM) we called to reserve a table. Â They had no problem giving us a table. Â Maybe they had availability due to snow cancellations? Â I don't really know.
We used the free valet - a must-do as there is very limited parking in the area. We were seated immediately. Â The restaurant was pretty busy, almost full I would say.
Love the decor!  Colorful and vibrant, but not overkill  Dining room on the first floor was open and spacious.
For drinks we ordered a half-pitcher of the patron sangria. Â It was fantastic, pretty strong. Â If you aren't driving I recommend getting the full pitcher.
To start we had the fundido with chorizo. Â It was just ok. Â The chorizo was flavorful, cheese was meh. Â Also had the Pernil napoleon. Â TO DIE FOR. Â It was amazing. Â Fantastic presentation. Â Braised pork melts in you mouth, so flavorful! Â This dish was our food highlight.
Well, we should have stopped there, because we were stuffed. Â Of course, that wasn't happening, so moving onto the entree....
Continuing with the pork theme, I can never resist a pork shank. Â It was just ok, not amazing. Â Honestly, I was let down and this was the low point of the meal. Â I think the rice that came with it was the best part of the dish. Â Husband had the ropa vieja, which was delicious. Â I think I ate more of his dish than I did of mine.
Service was great - this includes the wait staff, hosting staff, and valet. Â Everyone was very pleasant; food, check, and car delivered in a timely manner.
Definitely recommend but I suggest making a reservation.
I have dined here a few times and the food is tasty and Sangria is great.
I even did a private event on the second level which turned out to be amazing! The service was spectacular, the family style servings just kept coming because the staff immediately replaced empty dishes. The paellas and empanadas were very much enjoyed!
Loved this restaurant the cerviche of the was the best delicious. A little loud but your still able to have a good conversation. The food is very filling and the sangria is a definite. I ordered the churassco steak and it was more than enough. The waiter was funny and helpful. It is an afforable restaurant and I would more than definitely go on a date. Forgot to tell you guys its a little dim as well. (kinda gives the atmosphere a sense of romance, sucks that my date was my sister
Review Source:HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT. We made reservations over a week in advance for 12 people. We called several times before our dinner to ask about their policy on a variety of items. When my group of 12 arrived (on Saturday, Jan 12) I was told the reservation was only made for 2 people. The host and manager (John) did not even flinch. We asked if they could still accomodate us and they said yes, in about 30 min. So we sat by the bar and ordered 2 pitches of sangria (one white and one red), I don't reccommend. Not very flavorful and not strong at all.
An hour later we get seated upstairs. The Guac appetizer w plantain chips were fantastic! We ordered calamari and sent them back. No flavor and full of grease. The kitchen sent us the empanada appetizer 'on the house' which was great! The seafood empanada is awesome! After several other mistakes the manager gave us two pitches of that weak sangria 'on the house' as well.
All the items that were so called on the house were included in our tab at the end of the night. We had to have our tab corrected. And add 20% gratuity to everything  (even if you're not with a group) because Sabor Latino thinks they are hot stuff to include gratuity at 20% with such POOR service.
They ran out of the red snapper. The garlic shrimp had no garlic, it was services in a red sauce. Again lacked flavor.
I will not be returning. I hope more people speak up. Horrible birthday dinner!
One of my favorite Cuban Restaurants! Their guacamole is slammin and creatively served with plantain chips! I LOVE their churrasco! OMG cooked to perfection and with that chimichurri sauce.......yea buddy!!! Nom nom nom! Perfect spot for a first date. After hours their downstairs turns into a little latin lounge, emphasis on the little because it's not very spacious. Much older crowd too. But if you're into Salsa, Merengue, etc you'll have a good time.
Review Source:I have been here twice now. Â Both times I have tried different foods. Â After my most recent visit, I have decided that I like this restaurant but find the food to vary in quality of taste. Â I am not saying that the food is inconsistent from one visit to the next but find, for example, that the seafood empanadas were cool inside and tasted "fishy" while the ribs were warm and delicious. Â It is this variation of taste that prevents me from awarding them 4 stars.
On my first visit I ordered the Peruvian Chicken. Â It was well-prepared and tasty but not what I would call Peruvian Chicken. Â I was expecting pollo a la brasa, a traditional Peruvian rotisserie chicken that will make any mouth water. Â The chicken dish I was served was more of a Chinese influenced dish, drizzled in a sauce that was reminiscent of a sweet and sour sauce. Â I understand that the Chinese heavily influenced the Peruvian cuisine but certainly not pollo a la brasa. Â Their influence can be see in many of Peru's fried rice dishes, or arroz chaufa, that are served with chicken, beef, or seafood. Â This dish as is was good but I would not call it Peruvian.
On my second visit I ordered the shrimp over chorizo mashed potatoes special. Â The dish was well plated and tasted good, but I was disappointed in the serious lack of mashed potatoes and chorizo. Â The butterfly shrimp were plentiful but upon breaking them up to get to the mashed potatoes I found very little. Â It was a thin layer that consisted mostly of zucchini and cipolline onions--no chorizo. Â
On my third visit I am going to try the ropa vieja, as my friends have eaten this entree both times we have gone, and both times loved it. Â I am hoping that the third time's the charm. Â
Of the other food that I have eaten, I would recommend: guacamole with plantain chips, tostones, maduros, rib appetizer, and the mango cheesecake.
Went to Latin Bistro on a Friday night, with reservations made for 830. We arrived at 800, used their complimentary valet and coat check, and were promptly seated by the hostess. She let us pick from any of the tables on the second floor, and we picked a cozy table in the corner. The lighting was dark, with candles on each table. Very different looking from the pictures.
The service was quick, drinks were strong and delicious. I tried the Blood Orange Cosmo which was delicious. I ordered the churrasco (the best piece of skirt steak I've ever had in my life), and my boyfriend enjoyed his pork shank which was also incredibly tender. The rice that came with his meal was so delicious too. For some reason, restaurants always butcher spanish rice, but not Latin Bistro.
We ate the ropa vieja empanadas to start, once again amazing! We finished off with the chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream...speechless :)
Service was incredible and professional. The wait staff and the waiter were prompt, courteous, and we never felt rushed.
A remarkable Latin dining experience...this is no typical Latin restaurant (it's no Pollos a la Brasa), our total with tip was $110 (more than worth it) and we can't wait to go back again.
Just went here on Sunday for lunch and the place was pretty empty. I was very impressed!
The guava butter they have is sooooo good. I asked for some to take home with me! We had the guacamole with plantain chips.. it was delicious as well..
For lunch I had some shrimp dish (can't remember the name) that was kind of amazing and my bf had the fish tacos, which he loved. He ordered Peruvian corn (which the waiter forgot so we had it to-go), it was really good and very interesting! The corn kernels are jumbo and it's go a tangy taste.
We also had sangria with guava and champagne, it was perfect!!
Que Rico! My cousin, M&M, and I decided to try brunch at Sabor, after a shopping trip to Mitsuwa. Â We were intrigued by the attractive, brightly-colored yellow house right on River Road. Â We were not disappointed by our spontaneous decision. In fact, M&M who lives about a half-hour away plans to revisit with his family. This place is definitely a repeat, in my opinion.
Food: This was a really fun menu, with inventive takes on brunch favorites. Â The waiter served warm bread alongside whipped butter with bits of guava--oh so good!
I ordered the Sabor Benedict, which was the house's special take on eggs benedict. While the entree included two poached eggs, the other ingredients varied from the traditional. Â On top of the poached eggs sat a small serving of pico de gallo. Below the eggs, a spicy chorizo sausage poked out on top of a splendid ripe plantain cake. Â
My drink order included the San Juan sangria which was champagne with two large slices of guava. Personally, I would have preferred smaller slices so I extracted the guava and cut it into smaller pieces that I could poke with my straw and eat, which is my method for drinking regular sangria with fruit at the bottom.
M&M ordered an open-faced fajita, which comprised of a cup of white rice at the side of black beans with some cream, and a serving of fresh guacamole.
Ambience: This quaint and cozy restaurant has an inviting interior. Â Since we visited in June, the doors were open joining the indoors with the outdoors. Â The space is tight though. So much so that as our amicable waiter was serving our neighboring patrons, his bum was practically on our table.
Travel: You need to drive to Sabor. It's located right on River Road, with valet parking in its small parking lot.
Service: We were surprised at how quickly our food choices were brought to the table. Service was quick and friendly.
Tonight was our first night visiting Sabor Latino. Those guys were....let's just say busy with a lot going on in the restaurant...
So the wait time to get the actual food  was a bit too much...
but SO WORTH IT!!!!
I think that was one of the BEST stakes I have ever had in US...And traveling to South America a lot - I know how to compare a steak with the REAL SKIRT STEAK!
I'd give them a 4 just because of the wait time...
PS: appetizers were actually very tasty too.
One must try this place if passing by the water on the other side of Hudson...
Michael N.
When you come here, you feel rich and full of life. Â The ambiance alone makes you feel like you are on vacation. Â The food was fantastic as was the service.
We had the tacos, pernil napolean(braised pork), ceviche, churrasco, and peruvian chicken. Â The absolute only thing that was mehhh was the peruvian chicken. Â I can get better chicken at Kikiriki. Also confused about the ceviche, I never knew they had a ceviche that was fried... But everything else was delicate and tasty! Â Great place for a special occasion.
I came here for drinks and appetizers with a friend last week. Â We came on a Thursday evening around 7:15 and there was no wait, although there were a bunch of people already there for dinner, which is a good sign. Â
We ordered the guacamole, which came with long plantain chips & it was delicious. Â I've never had guac with those chips before and I loved it. Â We also ordered the churrasco tacos which were very flavorful, the churrasco was perfectly tender. Â We also had the pionono which is maduro with picadillo and queso fresco. Â Also yummy but it didn't blow my socks off.
For dessert I had the chocolate tres leches which was okay and my friend had the coconut tres leches which she loved, she even took one to go for her mother.
Our servers were attentive and very nice and I would definitely recommend coming here for the appetizers. Â I will be back to try dinner another day.
If I could give this restaurant negative 5 stars, I would.
I've eaten here many times, and always thought the food was pretty good. I decided to treat myself to dinner this past Tuesday night Feb. 7, 2012, and ate from their $25 prix fixe menu. Â I had the salad, salmon and coconut tres leches.
Within an hour of returning home I started to feel sick. Within two hours I was throwing up, all night long, until 6:00am. I had food poisoning.
When I called Sabor the next day and spoke to the GM, Manny, he was anything but sympathetic. Not once did I receive an "I'm so sorry that happened! How are you feeling?" Instead I was give excuses - "We serve salmon all the time. No one has ever complained of food poisoning!" I was made to feel like I was lying - why would I make up such a story?? REALLY? To get...what? A free meal? I'm really not that desperate, Sabor.
Manny never took down my number, barely brought himself to ask for my name, and said I needed to call back the next day, after he'd "spoken to his chef". So I called today and got some other manager (I was so mad within 2 minutes of the call I didn't even get his name). He immediately proceeded to spout off the same rhetoric as Manny.
Sabor doesn't care about their customers or their community. I will never eat here again, and I urge others to follow suit. If you get sick from their food, it's on you. Because of course it couldn't possibly be the fault of the restaurant who PREPARES the food, right?
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday dinner last night and I really enjoyed it. The place is small and intimate and the food was very good. I could tell our waiter took pride in his service. He was very attentive and answered any questions we had.
I ordered the spanish meatballs as an appetizer and he had the mussels. The meatballs were very good and weren't dry at all. The truffle sauce was delicious. He ordered the skirt steak with yucca fries and I had the spinach salad. Everything was fresh and full of flavor.
Would definitely come back.
My fiancee and I used to go to the Hawthorn location quite a bit and was sad to see this location close down.
The avocado mash with plantain chips and sangria are alone worth the visit. Â We would often times just stop in on a Thursday or Friday night for just those two things! Â Ambiance was great and the assortment of tapas was excellent.
We would have rented out the private room for our rehearsal dinner if the Hawthorn location was still open. Â The North Bergen location is just a little too far from the hotel to make sense.
Highly recommended!
Shame, shame, shame! Â That is your name!
I used to really like this place. Â Good food, good service, kind of cute, and decent music. Â Then, they f****ed me.
I booked reservations here for a few days before Christmas, on a Friday night for a group of 6. Â I booked the reservation about 2 weeks in advance for myself, my husband, and his family that come up to NJ once a year to visit for the holidays. Â We decided it would be a nice place to take the fam, plus we had been bragging about how cute the restaurant was and the fact that it was so close to home. Â
The afternoon of the reservation, around 4:00 pm, my husband received a call that our reservation was cancelled. Â CANCELLED?!?!??! What, WHat, WHAT?!?!? Â We were booted because of a party that needed the space....When we spoke to the "manager", he told us that our option was to change to a 10:30 reservation, or too bad....But we weren't getting our 8:00 reservation, no matter what. Â
I wouldn't necessarily mind eating perhaps in NYC at 10:30 at night if it were just myself and some friends or something, but Edgewater, NJ....with the family....? Â Come on.
I really felt with a reservation made well in advance, they should have figured it out, and seating us at 10:30 was not a very good resolution. Â If a huge party called that needed the entire restaurant, we should not have been contacted the day of a few hours before the reservation time....especially only a few days before Christmas Holidays. Â Where was my party of 6 supposed to go? Apparently, that wasn't their problem , so they really didn't give a damn.
Too bad for them since I used to frequent the place, and now I will NEVER go back. Â I suppose they didn't know how often I went out to eat....I guess they also didn't realize that all of my friends and family that used to go there, will also never be back (and they like to eat good too). Â
Treating people like that and bumping reservations isn't going to help a stand alone, poorly located restaurant, with NO view whatsoever out in a plummeting economy. Â Good luck once Son Cubano opens down the block dipsticks.
So the b/f doesn't live so far away from this joint...and since we hit up the movie theater not so far away on a consistent basis, we finally decided to hit this spot up.
I wasn't going with any expectations nor hopes. It was a Sunday afternoon, so it was a bit lonely...but that's fine by me & the sweatpants I was rocking.
-Guacamole & plantain chips for appetizer
-the b/f had the churrasco
-I had the ropa vieja
Can I just say the guacamole was fuckin' gooood (and we *know* that's saying a lot for this Mexican)...and the combination of this with the plantain chips was a hit. Plus, the serving size was no joke. The b/f & I left a good amount behind.
The churrasco was good, but nothing out of the ordinary.
The ropa vieja was not only very good, but the serving size was hefty as well.
Both meals came with white rice & black beans.
Price point was *eh* for a restaurant that seems to be on the upscale side, I guess. It does seems to get packed on the weekends & I believe it turns into some sort of lounge on Friday & Saturdays (I don't think I'd want to check out that scene though...the place is on the small side & I have an aversion for people packed in like sardine's at a spot).
I also found it funny/cute that there was valet parking for a parking lot the size of my apt...ha!
This is one of the first places I went to when I moved to Edgewater so I giggled a little when they wanted to valet park my car in the tiny lot. Â Dinner has always been a good experience at Sabor, usually starting with a greeting from Fernando, the owner.
The sangria was yummy, but when isn't it? Â I never had an appetizer preferring to lunge head forward into the entree and alternating between the skirt steak with yucca fries or the roast suckling pig. Â Both are delicious and quite filling. Â Service is quite good.
The ambience is small and cozy. Â I came here because I have heard that there was dancing/music on Thursdays but unfortunately, I have never experienced that side of Sabor, having always been seduced by the food.
Ive been here a couple times and have yet to really be let down.
Drinks are GREAT as well as the guacamole with plaintain chips app...Could use some cilantro, but damm...Quite quite yummy for simple guac. Portions are great, prices are reasonable.
Had the salmon last night and it was amazing...very rich.
Great little outdoor space, good ambience overall, although could be a little less 'loud' inside...Found it a bit hard to have a conversation with my friends.
