Love this place.
The food is always good, no matter what you order. Portions are generous, and they have a large menu. The staff is always friendly
The
$2.22 menu after 9pm is great for a snack.
They have a great rotating selection of beer and often feature local breweries.
Hit up Wednesday for $2.50 pints, or Thursday for $3.50 pints/ cans.
This place rocks!
If you like great food, great beer and great service this is the place to stop at.
The first time I came here was because of the rating on Yelp. When I left I thought that the place was under rated. So my second time was for a "Just in case" visit before writing them a review and putting up a rating; my second visit was better than the first.
First visit:
A group of 6 of us showed up, no call ahead of time, at 1PM on a Saturday. The place was busy but we got seated right away. Drink orders taken quickly and brought out faster than we thought possible. The menu is not insanely large or too meager. The selections are right on the money. Everyone's food came out cooked as asked and everyone loved their dish. One of the sides for one of the persons was late getting to the table by a stunning 90 seconds and they were apologetic and even took some $ off the bill. The kitchen was fast, the staff was great and the food was lovely.
Second visit:
I was in Indy for a meeting and needed some food before heading home. I have a quirky diet (Paleo, go google it). The waitress had my drink on the table before I had had a chance to turn my iPod on. I was going over the menu and she asked me if she could help, I explained my diet restrictions and she came up with a way to modify 3 different dishes to meet my diet, fantastic. So I ordered the fish tacos (the day's special), hold the tortillas and fruit instead of fries. The fish was cooked perfect, seasoned great and the rest of the meal was just as great. Again the service was quick and when I was done no one rushed me out the door (as is the case in too many places). Even after I was done they refilled my iced tea a couple of times while I sat and read email on my phone. This place is really outstanding.
review is for the bar on the south side of the bldg, not the dining room to the north. Â sahms is a great casual place to grab a drink. Â eating tables to the right, separated by a divider from a row of 2-person high tables and the bar itself. Â bar is classic wood with a nice rail and footrest. Â bar back looks great and is well-lit, as is the entire bar area. Â enough hdtvs to catch the game. Â great food and service. like so many other places, have moved to a craft beer focus, large beer menu that changes daily.
Review Source:I'm a Sahm's fan for years, from the old white road house to all of their newer places. I have been to almost all of their offerings, I just made to the Place and what a great bar! I like eating in their bar space when ever I can, no kids. The nice thing about Sahm's many places is the food its always good. The menu are alike but with some different offerings at each place. I think this keeps them from becoming a chain which is cool with me.
Remember to live well and to eat well, and please no chains!
Good prices, good food, friendly staff. At this place you get the quality you pay for, and so much more, without having to deal with snotty, stuck-up servers.
Super yummy buns, awesome burgers and fantastic side selection. This place boasts fresh and local, you can certainly tell it's fresh. Great salads made to order that even come with a piece of cake!
Only suggestion is to double check your carry-out.
Fun environment and staff make this an enjoyable experience. A local meeting place and neighborhood favorite for Indy's northside. I met my bro after a long drive from WI before band practice at a nearby residence. Sahm's had just added happy hour eats to the menu. (No Happy Hour drink specials permitted per Indiana law.) We sampled a couple quesadillas at the bar. Cheap and tasty!
Review Source:Braving the wind and rain, I came here on Friday night with a friend since our original plans to go to an art gallery in Zionsville were scratched due to weather.
This place packs them in but we were lucky to get a booth almost as soon as we walked in the door.
I wanted to try their Wine of the Week which was a Spanish red, but unfortunately they had run out of it earlier in the week, so I had the Pinot Noir, which was okay. Â My friend's palate runs more to beer, so he stuck with that.
Not being overly hungry, I opted for the blackened Orange Roughy sandwich with fries...but there were about 23 different options of sides to try. Â Kind of wish I had opted for another side as the fries were okay, but just okay. Â My friend had the pork loin sandwich with fries. Â Neither one of us finished the fries. Â My sandwich was okay, the fish was good, but too messy to eat as a sandwich so I ended up leaving most of the bun untouched. Â My dining companion also tried the chicken artichoke soup which he declared to be very good.
Service was good and food was okay. Â If I come back, I'd like to try one of their steaks...and hopefully bump them up a few stars :-)
A good, inexpensive local joint that fits quite well into the fabric of Indy. Â I find myself eating here about twice a year when down visiting family. Â The only thing I think Sahm's does exceptionally well is fix one of the best steaks in the city - maybe the best outside of downtown. Â Overall, their menu is classic bar and country club style food, meaning the choices are all across the board, yet incredibly familiar. Â Don't come here looking for any surprises. However, they usually have a couple of decent beers on tap, which can make for a convenient afternoon pit stop or lunch at the bar.
Review Source:Where my wife and I always end up when we want to relax and not worry about what's going to come out of the kitchen. Â Eddie and the staff work hard to be attentive, but not smothering, which results in great service! Â They have 4 or 5 daily, good sized and thoughtful specials, a soup of the day, a veggie of the day and good desserts. Â The dining room is a typical restaurant dining room, but if you want to mix it up w/ the staff, sit IN or AT the bar and don't be afraid to dish it out. Â Just be prepared to get it right back!
Review Source:I absolutely love this place. The food is good, not the best, but very good. Some items, like the iceberg wedge, ARE as good as it gets, and the service is definitely top-notch. Crystal is one of the funniest waitresses of all time.
The sandwiches here are quite commonly ordered, and quite good. The meatloaf sandwich, which my counterpart ordered recently, was enough for at least 2 meals, so keep that in mind if you go that direction when ordering. The salads are pretty darn good; I usually order the dinner salad with salmon.
The dinners come with great sides, and there are about 20 or more to choose from, including the wedge, as well as a great baked potato.
The brunch...fabulous. Get up and take the family or your hungover friends. It's one of the best places to eat breakfast in town.
The bar is also a wonderful feature, and is a great place to belly up on a rainy day or cold, winter afternoon to watch a game or two. It usually does not get too crowded, so getting there and finding your spot should not be an issue. If you've got the kids, the restaurant side is completely family friendly.
Don't forget to sign up for their membership club, which accumulates points based on how much money you spend, and rewards you with free meals. Nothing like an incentive program...
